Almost Gone - OB-6, MPC Live, Dominion Club & Dominion 1, Arp Odyssey, etc, et al.....

Published on Jan 6, 2018 Cave Way

"This week I had a brush with my own mortality, and almost took myself out in an extremely unintentional and careless way. 1 trip to the ER, and its all better. While I was going through an emergency surgery, and under the influence of propofol, I asked if I could record the room - and those samples and vibe turned into this. Much like the other vids, lots of gear being used and an attempt at playing some solos using some of my favorite OB-6 sounds (read presets). Later all - and PSA - CFY (Chew Your Food)!"

SOLTON ECA 2000 | Analog BBD Delay 1978 | HD DEMO

Published on Jan 6, 2018 AnalogAudio1

"(c) 2018 by AnalogAudio1

The ECA2000 is an analog BBD delay unit made by SOLTON, Germany. It is completely unknown and very rare, less than 100 were made. It sounds great! Early Solton products were made in Pocking, near Munich. In this area I also have found some other rare and interesting Solton units, like the Programmer 24 and the Project 100 analog synth (which needs a bit work).

I played the ECA 2000 along with a Korg Poly-800 synthesizer."

"This EML-200 is fully functional, extensively serviced, and in good condition, though it does not include the lid. Recent service includes recapped power supply and all new 1/4" jacks. A matching EML 300 will be available for an additional cost.

The EML 200 is a monophonic modular synthesizer released in 1969 by the connecticut based company Electronic Music Laboratories. It features 2 oscillators, hi pass & low pass filters, ring modulators, LFO, sample & hold, mic preamp, mixer with stereo panning, and built in spring reverb. This is a very raw sounding synth with features and a layout that are inclined to the experimental."

" This one is fully equipped with the Tubbutec "Juno-66" mod, which REALLY opens the door on this iconic synth. It is fully functional and has been recently service, and sounds fantastic...

OK, now here's where it gets interesting, the Tubbutec Juno-66 mod. This is a MUST for this synth that really brings this vintage beauty into modern times. It gives the synth midi, multiple play modes, portamento, sequencer, 2 additional filter LFO's, second ADSR, detuning, and alternate tunings. Here is a link to the site so you can REALLY see what this baby can do: tubbutec.de/juno-66/"

Rare Hohner Little Lady String-Orchestra Synthesizer SN 17710

via the seller:

"Ultra Rare Hohner "Little Lady" - String-Orchestra / Synthesizer / Rhythm-Machine / Keyboard !

This keyboard is very, very hard to find, I think.
Similarly, there is almost no information on the net.

Very, very good technical and optical condition.
Extremely clean - the surface, all the keys, the switches.
The real wood is still beautifully preserved.

Everything is working perfect (here is one exception = read down below under "XXX") -
All sound registers can be mixed or switched as desired.
It has a vibrato and a sustain switch.
For the last lower octave there is a separate bass-sound (additive switchable)
All sections have their own volume control.
All sliders work without scratching !!
All key contacts work as on the first day - no contact problems at all !!

Something about the automatic accompaniment-system -
It can also be operated without the acoustic signals being switched on acoustically.
The bass sequencing will still change with the selected rhythm - this results in quite interesting sequences !
Thanks to the memory function, you only need to tap a bass-key, then it is automatically held (this also works without the automatic accompaniment).
Of course, the respective rhythms can also be switched acoustically.
The keyboard has a built-in loudspeaker (at the bottom) - this works also perfectly (without distortion).
On the back there is a line-out socket for an external amplifier.
And an output for a pedal (pedal not included).

"XXX" - There is, however, one technical error (or I'm doing something wrong):
If one of the rhythms is switched on acoustically, a single slightly higher "bass-sound" (tonally a single "B") sounds automatically.
I can not get it away.
Otherwise everything is absolutely working perfect !!

The Hohner comes with its original service instructions / schematics (also a rarity) !!"

Volca jam for Jamuary 2018, day 6

Published on Jan 6, 2018 Slenterende Beer

"'Jamuary' is a yearly event where people upload short music jams every day throughout the month of January. This submission is for January 6th.

This jam I tried something new: play 3 Volcas at the same time! I control the Bass, FM and Keys with the Keystep. The Bass is tuned an octave higher than the Keys.

Also, in this jam I used the Specular Reverb's 'infinite' mode for the low background drone. This was played on the Volca Keys.

"Variations by Andrew Lloyd Webber played on the Roland Integra 7 synthesizer module. Featuring several of the more unusual SuperNATURAL acoustic tones.

MIDI recorded in Cockos Reaper, played multi-timbrally in the Integra-7 and then bounced as a stereo mix into the DAW.

Variations (1978) is a classical and rock fusion album. The music was composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber and performed by his younger brother, the cellist Julian Lloyd Webber."

DW-6000, Flashback Triple Delay, Trinity2

Published on Jan 6, 2018 The Outsider

"Often overlooked, if not dismissed outright, the DW-6000 is the underdog from KORG's pair of DWGS synths made in the mid 80s. On paper, the feature list of the 6000 does pale in comparison with that of its big brother the DW-8000, but it is hardly a synth without merit. The filter is very warm, with resonance that can bite, and the chorus (at least on this particular unit) is nice and surprisingly far less noisy than that of Roland's Juno series. It's an interesting synth, capable of standard analog polysynth sounds, but also able to venture into PPG territory thanks to digital waveforms.

This is a live noodling session, no overdubs, no sequencing. I switched patches on the fly, going back and forth between different sounds. I have the first delay's time in the Flashback set close to max, which provided an almost looper-like result, you can hear the sounds layering on each other but surprisingly it never got out of hand. Absolutely amazing what a difference pedals can make, and I still can't get over just how good pedals sound these days.

The Flashback is set to serial mode, with the delays as follows: Tape - Space - Reverse. The Trinity2 is set as follows: Decay at 3 o'clock, Tone and Mix at 12 o'clock, using the IV preset. The signal goes into a Mackie MS 1402-VLZ mixer, then through a Focusrite Compounder. Recorded into a Zoom R8, then slightly tinkered with in Logic Pro X (very slight EQ and level adjustment)."
