"For SuperBooth 2021, Fred's Lab drops ZeKit: a new 4 voice paraphonic microsynth, featuring a simple step sequencer, digital waveforms, an analog VCF, VCA & 2x AR envelopes. The instrument can be controlled using MIDI (notes & clock) and has both a sync and audio inputs. External audio sources can be mixed in or be processed through the VCF / VCA.

This synth is available in two versions:

- the DIY KIT version (requires soldering)
- the fully assembled version

Electronic music roots in building one’s own gear and this is what ZeKit is about.

This synth has been engineered to be an uncomplicated kit, from its schematics to its user operation, while providing great and powerful vintage & modern sounds, straight at its output. Compared to many kits, ZeKit isn’t a toy! You'll end up with an instrument that generates serious tones, gracefully synchronizes, and will nicely integrate your studio setup or follows you on tour, thanks to its compact size.

Being accessible to DIY beginners, ZeKit offers a lot to learn about analog and digital electronics for music gear, from building it and later playing it. A comprehensive and well illustrated, 30+ pages assembly guide (pdf) will assist you at each building step, from start to finish. This guide also includes ZeKit complete schematics and bill of materials, as well as a detailed explanation of the inner working of all circuit blocks.

Last but not least, most ZeKit design files are provided under Creative Commons and Open Source licences, allowing you to get inspired, modify, improve and distribute your creations, within the limitation of non-commercial use.

"The 1982 Chorus Echo from Roland marked the end of the Tape Echo, I find these units make you go “mmmMMM…” which, in this case, means.. magical, mysterious, mesmerising and mechanical! ..this unit provides a ghostly, dream-state-like ambience to just about anything you put into it. Sit back, relax and come on a journey back to 1982 thru to current day with the help of some sounds from the E-mu Emulator II, the Roland Jupiter 6 & the MPC X ..through this mesmerising mechanical machine.

I requested an interview with the engineer of the Chorus Echo, but he declined due to the fact he doesn’t like repeating himself 😂 🤦🏻‍♂️

"Fully functional Roland Juno-16 in excellent condition. Cosmetic condition I would rate 8.5/10 - 9/10 condition with a few minor marks here and there but still looks really clean.

Has just been serviced (09/02). Service notes include:
replacing 6 voice chips with modern clones for another lifetime of reliability,
Replacing all 34 tactile switches,
Cleaning all pots and sliders
Upgraded 3 prong AC Connector,
Replacing battery with battery clip and new battery for easy solder-less battery swaps in the future.
Everything is fully functional. All sliders, keys, buttons, pots and jacks work as they should.
Memory stores perfectly."

"The Oberheim OB-8 is the height of 80s fat analog polyphonic goodness. If you want to make gorgeous pads, analog choirs, lush filtery leads - this synth is pure magic. Very flexible polyphonic with quite a few tricks up its sleeves. Syncable oscillators. Two or four pole filters. Arpeggiator! This one has factory midi installed.

This particular OB-8 was recently gone through and serviced by Allison at Bell Tone Synthworks in Philadelphia. Works perfectly."
