"Not sure why this video is framed like this. Most of what I am doing is happening out of frame, up at the top left, on the STG MooSonics Vanilla filter, mixer, and vca envelope modules. And probably quite a few clues to remembering this patch lie out of frame to the right of the EML 200s. This was shot before the SSL 1660, so my guess is that the LWSS CGS01 sub oscillator module is producing the little sequence—fed envelopes from the EML or LFO from Synthesizers.com."

"Rare as hens teeth, the EML Electrocomp 100 was EML's second synth, only preceded by the 200, both of which were blue and only made for universities, the 100 preceded the 101 and supposedly less than100 were made in 1970 before they started selling to the general public. this one has a few mods on it, first osc 1 is hardwired to share the noise in the mixer section, so you can choose noise or osc1, there are switches to turn off each of the 4 oscillators, there is also a direct output added and a switch that turns off the VCA outputs, not sure why exactly this was done. The unit does seem to work completely as it should after giving it a good 30 minutes to warm up, however I do know the pots need to be cleaned, especially those in the envelope section as sometimes those pots specifically can cause certain functions not to work, usually if you spin the pot back and forth enough, they will come back but then definitely need a cleaning, he it's 53 years old! The pots are sealed, so they can either be drilled and creaned or carefully taken apart and cleaned, I figure I will leave that up to the new owner, given the age of the synth it is sold AS-IS, given the rarity of this piece I will be asking a lot as I am not eager to sell it, it is the only one I have ever seen in my lifetime. I will pack and ship extra carefully with this one and fully insure it, so you can buy with confidence on that front!"

"Rare vintage ElectroComp EML-100 Analog Modular Synthesizer, dating back to the early 1970s. This synth, with its unique blue color, is a piece of electronic music history. Please note that this instrument is being sold as is, with some functional considerations.

Condition: Considering its age, this synth is in good physical shape, showcasing the enduring quality of its construction.

Functionality:

Oscillator 3 (Osc 3) always produces sound and is in working condition.
Amp Shaper's output occasionally works as expected after the synth has been powered on for approximately 15 minutes. While the synth does produce sound from Osc 3, it's evident that some repair work is needed to fully restore its functionality."

"This is an excerpt from an undated and unlabeled cassette tape from 2020 or 2021. EML 200 with a short envelope into its spring reverb, plus a kick drum from the modded Roland CR-8000 we used to have. I imagine a squirrel scurrying from tree to tree along the edge of Lake Waramaug. The video cuts right when the CR-8000’s congas kick in and the recording stops making any sense."

"EML made these in different configurations. Some had a synthesizer built in and a double sequencer panel, others had no synthesizer and a single 16 step sequencer panel. This one's an example of the latter. To see the full version, search our website for EML-400.

This unit was meticulously refurbished and is working great. All faders and switches have been cleaned and lubed. The power supply has been rebuilt (new electrolytic capacitors, power regulators, filter caps and solder reflowed). We replaced the panel mount male multipin connectors and made a new multipin connector cable, which will be included in this sale. The green cable in the photo isn't included - we just had that patched in to loop the sequence - any 1/4" cable will do. A few of the faders in the top section aren't quite zero at zero position.

"This is a demonstration of the (great) sound of two eurorack modules by Ton Atelier Lauter. They are clones of the EML 102 VCF and the VCA/ring modulator. Feeding them actual EML oscillators seemed appropriate for the demo and sounds good.

The note cards will tell you which mode the filter is in."

"Ton Atelier Lauter is in Germany. I imported this VCF originally to use with my EML 200, which doesn’t have voltage control over the filters. Somehow the 200 got surrounded by DOT COM filters and Metasonix TM boxes and the Ton Atelier Lauter EML 101 VCF clones got sidelined (See my other listing for the EML 101 RingMod/VCA).

So it’s up for grabs. If you don’t know EML, but like that Steiner Parker Synthacon sound or that MS20 mk1 sound then you might like messing with this. Comes in original box with power cable."
