"In addition to the quad oscillator synth in the enclosure, this unit has CV Pitch and Gate inputs and on top there is a delay circuit with controls for delay length and feedback. Also has a tone circuit similar to most electric guitars.

Also includes a power supply 9VDC -negative tip.

There are several videos on youtube demo-ing the GETLOFI quad oscillatar sounds. This unit is unique n that it also has the CV controls and delay for hours of noisy fun 8-)

Pocket Electro/Techno Jam 136BPM: Bastl Kastle, Teenage Engineering PO-12, Doomsday Sound Generator

Published on Jan 13, 2019 O.S.cillator @ Kalkartronic

If only this is what they were actually dancing to...

"Mini Electro Jam by O.S.cillator.
The PO-12 drum machine is controlled by the LFO of the Bastl Kastle (I/O output of the Kastle to input of the PO-12, and left channel of the I/O socket on the top of the Kastle patched to LFO socket). The Doomsday Sound Generator is a DIY kit from getlofi.com which I built into a tupperware box a few years ago. Its chaotic sounds can be manipulated by touching the steel buttons (body resistance contacts) on the front.
Hope you like it!

Published on Apr 19, 2018 LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER

"So its simple! you solder a wire from the oscillator out straight to one leg of the timing crystal of the gameboy, and you can override that and use the oscillator to clock the gameboys CPU! meaning you can adjust the pitch!

for more info on the precision oscillator board check here :-

Synthino XM Surface Mount Assembly How To Make a Synthesizer Main Board IR Oven PCB

Published on Jul 26, 2015 GetLoFi

"www.synthino.com This is how we make the Synthino XM mainboard with excellent results, there are not very many components and once the solder stencil is tweaked with just the right amount of opening for the solder paste, there is virtually no chance for bridges and poor connections. Thanks for watching, please subscribe.

P.S. This also serves as a motion study exercise, I conclude that having parts in the tray parallel to the circuit board and the picking and placing hand is most optimal. Closing the lid after every place prevents accidental spillage of parts, most importantly picking the part inside of the container that is also rotated same as its orientation on the circuit board is advantageous. Handling the parts in their containers is also desired to minimize the spillage and extra travel moves.

'They come cheaper by the dozen you know'

Enjoy."

"Please visit www.synthino.com for more information and availability."

this is the first Synthino post.

Some details for the archives:

"Synthino is a fun collaboration project started in 2014 between two Minneapolis based DIY kit makers and members of TC Maker a non-profit Minnesota based organization focused on growing the maker community.

Electronics maker nootropic design has pushed the boundaries of Arduino based electronic devices by incorporating unique integrated circuits (ICs) in Arduino compatible shields for everyone to be able to enjoy without racking their brain over datasheets or dealing with nuances of circuit board layout and design. While taking special pride in the documentation, development, and testing virtually all nootropic design kits are suitable for hobby, professional, industrial, and even government applications.

GetLoFi offers information and kits for musicians and first-time solderers who are not opposed to modifying their gear through a process called "Circuit Bending" or building from scratch a variety of analog circuit noise makers. Bringing to the table a musician's perspective GetLoFi team helped to develop essential hardware and software features of Synthino...

Why Synthino is better:
True 12 Bit DAC ( Digital Analog Converter )

"Dual Quad Oscillator Synthesizer
handmade synth from two 4093 chips.
used but works great!
like the kits from getlofi.com but with way more features!!

This was made into a light synth that someone handmade in the 70s, now gutted to make sounds not light controls.
The housing is wood and so are the keys.
It defiantly has some roughness to it, this IS handmade.

Check out where it came from, originally did shows for Alice Cooper, Traffic, Ect...

Drone Noise Synth 4093 CMOS

Published on Dec 6, 2013 trukxelf·5 videos

"This is a hand-built noise synth; its a square wave generator that sort of cross modulates and tweaks the square wave-forms it produces form 4 oscillators. The circuit is based on a 4093 CMOS NAND IC,designed and produced by GET-LOFI. I put it together, and made the enclosure, which is constructed from wood, with steel face and rear plates. It runs on a 9V power adapter."

Published on Dec 7, 2013

"DRONE synth, noisy square wave generator. The circuit is a GETLOFI Quad Oscillator; another 4093 CMOS IC. I've added a fairly ineffective lowpass filter, it sounds a little more pronounced live. I fabricated the steel enclosure, and the solid walnut ends. Runs on a 9V adapter, and has a 1/4" audio output jack."

"Currently for sale on eBay!"

via this auction

"'The GetLoFi Quad Oscillator Kit is based on the 4093 Logic IC configured to create four independent oscillators controlled by knobs. The resulting sound can vary from rhythmic beeping to polyphonic drones.'

-from the getlofi website

Please note you are bidding on a fully built unit, not a kit. I built this from the kit available from getlofi .com and added a couple mods, including a volume knob and a voltage starve knob. There is a hole in the side of the unit because I was going to add a lowpass filter, but never got around to it.
1/4" mono output. Rubber feet. Faux woodgrain faceplate."
