Soldering Synthesizer
video upload by Neyagawa Instruments
The Soldering Synthesizer is a new type of synthesizer that is played with a soldering iron. We found a completely new way of playing music without any knobs or keys. You can change the rhythm pattern by electric shorts, and enjoy the drastic changes by directly replacing the electric parts such as the resistors and capacitors.
The Soldering Synthesizer has a 16-step sequencer and 4 tracks of sound generator. The sequencer can set a rhythm pattern with short circuit by the solder. The sound generator part consists of a T-Bridge analog circuit, which can reproduce various percussion sounds by the combination of capacitor and resistance. Also, you can change the EQ and BPM freely by changing the corresponding components. All components can be replaced, so you can enjoy an infinite sound making.

R-MONO Lab Maker Faire Tokyo 2019出展作品紹介
Published on Jul 27, 2019 R-MONO Lab
Funny. I don't think I've seen "live" or "hot" soldering before - soldering with the unit powered and running. It's almost like he's soldering in permanent triggers on a step sequencer. Imagine having to do that every time you wanted to change a sequence!
Googlish:
"The latest version (V5) of" Synthe Senjin Synth "which realized unique sound by" by wave transmutator "before. New recorder pipe organ that automates the pump. "Programmable bear's tonpy" that bear's cute stuffed toy plays destructive rhythm. A "wood tank" where electronic fish swims. We will also conduct hands-on with the revolutionary electronic musical instrument "Ney Musical Instrument Soldering Synthesizer" played by soldering.
R-MONO Lab is a craftsmanship association (club activity) for a certain group of musical instruments. While interacting with other members, we are producing activities such as presenting work at manufacturing events. The motto is "Let's make what you want to make" without specifying the field of creation. Established at the end of 2014. Exhibited at MFT 2015-2018, ommf 2016-2018, etc. 3rd Solecon Prize. We also conduct activities such as lectures, exhibitions and workshops in the creation city network."

Dr. Blankenstein Workshops Coming to Maker Faire Detroit 2016
via @Dr_Blankenstein
"A shout out to #upcycling genius @TimSway in @TheHenryFord museum interview"
You'll find the interview here along with details on the event.
"At Maker Faire Detroit 2016, Drew Blanke—more formally known as “Dr. Blankenstein”—will arrive, trailing a rolling suitcase full of broken toys and noise-making creations along behind him. Over the weekend of July 30-31, 2016, Blanke will hold workshops to teach people how to “up-cycle electronics into one-of-a-kind 21st century art.” He asks that guests interested in participating in the workshop bring along broken electronics from home—to “open them, inspect them, and learn from them.” He will also have a few of his own creations available for hands-on demonstrations."
Left: one of Dr. Blankenstein's creations. Like a steampunk electronic guitar.
Below: "Dr. Blankenstein is pictured here demonstrating one of his creations to Herbert Deutsch, co-inventor of the Moog synthesizer."

Synthino at Maker Faire 2014 - New Arduino Based Platform Synth Project
Synthino Demo at Maker Faire 2014
Published on May 21, 2014 Circuit Master·1 video
"Please visit www.synthino.com for more information and availability."
this is the first Synthino post.
Some details for the archives:
"Synthino is a fun collaboration project started in 2014 between two Minneapolis based DIY kit makers and members of TC Maker a non-profit Minnesota based organization focused on growing the maker community.
Electronics maker nootropic design has pushed the boundaries of Arduino based electronic devices by incorporating unique integrated circuits (ICs) in Arduino compatible shields for everyone to be able to enjoy without racking their brain over datasheets or dealing with nuances of circuit board layout and design. While taking special pride in the documentation, development, and testing virtually all nootropic design kits are suitable for hobby, professional, industrial, and even government applications.
GetLoFi offers information and kits for musicians and first-time solderers who are not opposed to modifying their gear through a process called "Circuit Bending" or building from scratch a variety of analog circuit noise makers. Bringing to the table a musician's perspective GetLoFi team helped to develop essential hardware and software features of Synthino...
Why Synthino is better:
True 12 Bit DAC ( Digital Analog Converter )
MIDI IN standard 5 pin connector
4 Independent channels
4 Note polyphony
8 Analog potentiometer controls
True Envelope A-D-S-R
LFO with Rate and Depth
Upgrades planned
Arduino platform built-in
Software updates are easy to install
FTDI interface compatible
Easy to assemble
Highest quality components
1/4 and 1/8 Inch audio outputs
Over 4000 wave forms available!
Low cost synthesizer
DIY and Hacker friendly
2.1 mm Boss style connector
9 Volt battery power option
Compact customize-able design
Available as a kit or assembled
Acrylic or wood case options"

Thonk Coming to the Brighton Mini Maker Faire This Weekend
via Thonk.co.uk where you'll find a video for the event.
"I’m exhibiting at Brighton Mini Maker Faire this Saturday (7th September) – Come along!
I’ll have my modular system burbling away to itself, stock for sale and working versions of many of the module kits I’ve sold to date. I’ll also have final prototypes of the ALM SID GUTS Eurorack module, which uses the classic Commodore64 SID sound chip.
It costs £5 to get in for adults, tickets are available on the door but you can avoid queues by booking in advance. Kids under 16 go free.
There are loads of cool music and synth projects, hardware hacking, robots, Raspberry PI, 3D printers, submarines and even crazy bio-tech stuff. As well as just wandering around in an amazed daze, you can take part in practical workshops on the Sunday too. Thonk customers should feel at home!
