Synthesis Basics: How To Ring Mod, FM, and AM

video upload by Patchwerks

"In this video we talk about 3 types of common modulation used in synthesis. Ring modulation, frequency modulation, and amplitude modulation. Learn how to do it and what it sounds like.

Quick Eurorack Modular Tip : Super Sick Oscillator Sync Wave Synthesis

video upload by Perfect Circuit

"Peep the blog for more sync wave exploration : https://bit.ly/3eaAdW2

It's time for another Quick Eurorack Tip !
Today our pal Wes is taking a brief look at some Sync Wave Sounds. A unique way to get some excellent timbres out of your oscillators, Sync techniques are super accessible and easy to patch in a modular environment.

Here wes uses two Intelllijel Dixie 2+ oscillators to make some gnarly sounds with a little modulation. TRY THESE TRICKS AT HOME ;)

ARP 2600 with Euclidean Circles

O.Z. Hall

"The Korg ARP 2600 is augmented by a eurorack cabinet built to support the 2600. The focus is on the Euclidean Circles (v1.9) module and the great rhythms you can easily create with it.

Thanks James Carr for building this cabinet for me!

Technical note. I'm using the Intellijel Metropolis sequencer as a clock source (to start/stop the sequence). The actual sequencing that you hear is from the Behringer 960 Sequential Controller."

Intellibent Design Patchable Circuit Bent Casio MT-540 MIDI Synth

via this auction
"featuring 42 unique bend points in one patch bay type configuration. connecting any 2 points together will cause all sorts of bizarre effects. glitches drones-cut up rhythms-aleatoric excursions into AMBIENT HEAVEN!

there are 4 'patches' located in GREEN pairs around the 42 (silver) bend points. you can modulate the amount of interaction between any set of bending points by routing separate bend points through the patches. there are 2 special fine tune-10 turn knobs/pots and 2 standard tune pots located on the far right where the speaker USED to be. both internal speakers have been removed to make room for the added parts.

TRIGGERING BENDS WITH THE ADDED PUSH BUTTONS
each of the 4 'patches' first gets routed through a potentiometer to dial in a desired amount of short circuiting mayhem... then by flipping the switch for a patch you stop the bending which causes the machine to play normal again---you can then trigger the bending at the dialed in amount with the BLUE push button for that patch.

located on the back are 2 reset buttons (one for battery operation the other for AC adapter power) for when the machine crashes and cannot be reset by simple on/off switching. I also have added a new DC jack as the one that Casio put on there just isn't very good!"

Casio MT-240 CiRCUiT BENT by Intellibent Design

via this auction

"42 Point Patch Bay for near infinite possible combinations of seperate unique bend points. a few, probably 6-7 points are off the main sample ROM chip and offer some really cool variations on the mayhem. ALSO ADDED is the LTC1977 PITCH drop chip for extreme pitch shift by way of the knob on left side of machine. there are 4 PATCHes possible. see the BLACK banana jacks they each route to a POTENTIOMETER/KNOB for modulation on particular bends so you can have just a tiny bit of reaction or full barrel 0 resistance. ALSO: 2 mame arcade style trigger buttons. so you can dial in a sweet spot with the pot and then flip the switch behind the knobs and trigger that bend with the button...for interactive mad g;litcherery. FEATURES SIK MULTI COLOR CUSTOM PAINT JOB. ULTRA HIGH GLOSS AND FIXED WITH MANY TOPCOATS. NOT STICKY AND WAS DONE MANY MONTHS AGO SO NO WORRIES WITH DRYING THERE."
