M-Audio "Venus" : a New Side to the M-Audio Venom Synthesizer

Published on Apr 20, 2017 Cloudwalk Music

"I am sharing these sounds and more for free, in a bank of 33 single presets for the M-Audio Venom. You can download the SQB file at: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/87nu1o16x6...

I wanted to make this demo to show off the versatility of the M-Audio Venom. Most fans are familiar with it's edgy, gritty, dance and industrial sounds. These are great sounds themselves and really set the Venom apart as a unique sounding instrument, but I wanted to show that the Venom is capable of much more versatility, like beefy vintage synth sounds, colorful digital sounds, softer sides like pads, and even electric pianos.

I decided to share these presets since the M-Audio Venom has a very small sound library. Venom users deserve more sounds!"

M-AUDIO Introduces CTRL 49 Controller

Update: I originally thought the CTRL-49 had the ability to load VSTs onboard, minus the computer, much like the MUSE Recepter, but it appears you still need the computer connected to run the VSTs.

"M-AUDIO ADDS REVOLUTIONARY VIP SOFTWARE TO ITS LEGENDARY KEYBOARDS IN GROUNDBREAKING NEW CTRL 49 CONTROLLER

Producers can now load, play and control all their virtual instrument plugins directly from the CTRL 49 keyboard, for seamless hands-on performance and perfect VI software integration.

Cumberland RI, USA (January 21, 2016)— M-Audio (m-audio.com), synonymous with innovative music production technology, today announced the introduction of their revolutionary, premier controller, the CTRL 49. The new keyboard provides advanced control of virtual instruments and DAWs via a full-color, high-resolution 4.3-inch screen. It features a 49-key semi-weighted keybed, and the directional cluster of hardware controls has been meticulously thought out for effortless operation. Producers will find the CTRL 49 to be an inspiring and intuitive experience.

The CTRL 49 is powered by the included Virtual Instrument Player (VIP) software. VIP software enables users to access any VSTi virtual instrument or effect in their computer directly from the keyboard. Users can quickly filter and search through every patch in their plugin library by using the built-in tagging function, making it simple to find the sound they’re after quickly. VIP auto-maps the CTRL 49’s controls to the selected plugin, and displays the plugin parameters directly on the full-color display for a natural, familiar 1:1 workstation-style experience.

VIP software in the CTRL 49 also creates a multi directly from the keyboard. Using a multi, producers can combine up to 8 patches from 1 or more plugins, and have the option to layer, mix and pan these patches all at once. Users can even set keyboard splits and transpose individual patches within their multi. This advanced design feature means users can save all the new sounds they’ve created and easily recall them at any point.

For optimum live performance use, VIP software also creates 'setlists' that deliver fast on-demand access to virtual instruments and effects. With the press of a single button, users can switch to the next plugin they want—without ever reaching for a computer.

CTRL 49 Features:
• Integrated 4.3-inch high-resolution full-color screen with dedicated interface buttons
• Screen provides 1:1 real-time feedback of plugin parameters
• Includes Virtual Instrument Player software--- load, play and control any VST or effect plugin quickly
• Mackie/HUI for DAW control
• 49-key M-Audio semi-weighted keybed
• 9 faders and 8 buttons with Mackie Control® and HUI® for seamless control of the DAW
• Performance-ready 360-degree encoders
• FX button for future VIP updates
• 4 banks of 8 velocity- and pressure-sensitive drum pads with RGB illumination
• Roll mode, time division, transport, arpeggiator, and tap tempo buttons
• Functions as a standalone MIDI controller or controls your plugins and DAW simultaneously
• Includes software: Ableton Live Lite, AIR Creative Collection FX (20 World Class FX AU/VST
plugins as made famous by Pro Tools®), Vacuum Pro, Loom, Hybrid 3, Xpand!2, Velvet, Transfuser, Eighty Eight Ensemble

'The CTRL 49 is a game-changer for serious producers,' said JC Sutherland, Product Manager for M- Audio. 'Now they can access their entire virtual instrument library right from their keyboard, without ever being distracted by a computer, which makes the creative/performance process smoother than ever before. Working together, the CTRL 49 and VIP unlock your VSTs and enable them to function like actual instruments. Once you get used to this, there’s no going back.'

The M-Audio CTRL 49 has a U.S. retail price of $499

It will be available in the 2nd Quarter of 2016.

Please visit us in Hall A, Booth #6700 at Winter NAMM."

Introducing the All-New M-Audio Code Series Keyboards

Published on Aug 11, 2015 M-Audio

"M-AUDIO NOW SHIPPING INNOVATIVE CODE SERIES KEYBOARDS

Three models—25-, 49- and 61-key versions—deliver professional-feel keybeds, full feature sets and surprising pricing

Cumberland, RI (August 13, 2015)— M-Audio (m-audio.com), synonymous with innovative music production technology, today announced that deliveries have begun of its highly-anticipated Code Series keyboards, a family of three full-featured models. Available in 25-, 49- and 61-key versions, the Code Series combines a remarkably smooth-feeling keyboard with a surprisingly complete feature set to create a keyboard line of unusually professional capability and unexpected value.

The Code Series builds upon M-Audio’s legacy of innovative workflow and playability. Their comprehensive controls automatically map to popular DAW’s such as Ableton Live, Apple GarageBand, Logic Pro X, Pro Tools, and Cubase, so artists can easily convert their creativity into immediate, tangible results.

The Code Series delivers top-of-the-line performance with their professional-feel keybeds, very complete feature sets and included software, yet they are priced far below what might ordinarily be expected for this level of capability.

All Code Series keyboards feature:
• Smooth-feel, semi-weighted keybed with aftertouch
• 16 velocity-sensitive pads with LED feedback
• Touch pad for X/Y axis control
• USB Bus powered for portability and ease of use
• 5 Pin MIDI Input, and Output jacks allowing you to control your favorite synths
• Assignable pitch & mod wheels, knobs, faders, buttons (with macro ASCII support), and transport control with Mackie Control and HUI modes
• Split keyboard with four assignable zones
• Expression and Sustain pedal inputs
• 6 digit LED display

In addition, a comprehensive software package is included—Ableton Live Lite, AIR Music Technology Loom and Hybrid 3—that ensures the artist has unrestricted access to the best creative tools.

“The new Code Series keyboards offer a professional level of performance and keybed feel, combined with an unusually comprehensive set of features and included software,” said J.C. Sutherland, Product Manager for M-Audio. “All this adds up to one of our most eagerly-awaited new product introductions ever.”

M-Audio Venom Synthesizer Factory Demo Song

Published on Jun 23, 2015 Sound Programming

"Factory demo song from the M-Audio Venom recorded direct with no additional effects.

In addition to being a standalone virtual analog synth, the Venom also has an external audio interface and can be used as a MIDI controller.

The demo song for this synthesizer does not give a very good indication of the range of its audio capabilities. It sounds better and can do more than you hear in this song."

SCI Prophet 6 - Taiho Yamada Demo

"I just completed a bank of sounds for the upcoming Sequential Circuits Prophet 6. I’m not sure how many of my sounds will make it into the factory preset banks at this point, so I’ve got my fingers crossed… Either way, I’m still very happy to have been a part of this project. The Prophet 6 is a wonderful sounding synth and a blast to program! I hope you enjoy this audio demo of my work…"

"M-Audio Venom 12-Voice Virtual Analog Synthesizer, in SUPER RARE BLACK PROTOTYPE CASE. This was a super limited edition pre-production model to try out different cases, the original black case (featured here!) was scrapped for the white model, but the final production model was design number 3. This is a perfect collector's Venom, or someone who wants a keyboard that is not the production white. Super super rare find!!! Some minor marks on the unit, primarily behind the display on the back-top of the synth (someone's ring perhaps?) and a minor mark between the mod wheels (see detailed pictures).

Fully functional Venom running the latest OS. Default patches loaded. 100% operational."

X11 New M-Audio Venom Presets

Published on Apr 11, 2014 VintageSynthPads·77 videos

"X-11 is a new preset expansion for M-Audio Venom.

This collection was designed to effectively cover needed presets for Venom.
After hearing the available and stock presets for Venom, we wanted to bring out its ability to reproduce vintage analog synth sounds.
Not only were we able to reproduce this, but we also used Venom's "edge" to make one of the most authentic electric solo guitars available from a synth.
