New Ninstrument Sammich SID Eurorack Module

via Ninstrument

"With most of my time being spent in euro these days I was missing some SID sounds. Yes I know there is a SID module out there, but I was missing Sammich, so I eurofied it! Conversion took a little bit of doing and some modifications were necessary. The biggest being the extra row of LED’s on top for the CV/Gate conversion indicators, but other than that I now have Sammich in my eurorack!"

Ninstrument GRAECO - Ginko Synthese Grains Meets Synthrotek Echo Eurorack Module

via Ninstrument

"Ever have two modules go together so well, like peanut butter and jelly?
Well I have two so I decided they should marry and become one. Introducing the happy marriage of Grains from Ginko Synthese and Echo from Synthrotek!

Links respectively.
Ginko Synthese
Synthrotek

I added a vactrol as a vca between them and the vca is normaled to the jacks so that patch is internal. However if you want to use the Echo and detach it from the grains, all you need to do is insert your new source into the ‘in’ jack.

Went a little crazy on the screenprint and tried a deep pink and subtle grey on a flat black panel."

Speak & Read & Talko by Deladriere

Uploaded on May 14, 2015 Ninstrument.com

via Ninstrument

"Finally had a chance to match these guys up head to head in a little jam and I have to say I think Deladriere's Talko wins on all fronts. Easy to manipulate, easy to reprogram (within reason) and the big upside is there is no harming any existing Speak & *'s! The Speak & Read says 'here' and 'level' only throughout this entire demo. Everything else is the Talko!!

Also showing off the Euro version of the Moog Minataur controlled by a Sequencer 1 by Audio Damage. MI Peaks in there too.

More info at www.Ninstrument.com"

New Ninstrument X-Fader Eurorack Module

via Ninstrument

"Been working on this concept for a while now. Curious to see if there is interest. I find it great for live cross fading and also scratching effects with the CV straight into an Oscillator! Pics of the prototype."

TENuation

Published on Dec 24, 2014 kuxaan sum

"Playing with the Ninstrument TENuation module.
Simple patch...
uLFO as master clock and modulation source:
Clock into O|D and sine out into TENuation which feeds Morphing Terrarium Morph Z input.

O|D sends CV to MorphTerr 1v/oct input and gate to Modcan quad Envelope which opens an Oakley VCA being fed by the MorphTerr Z output.
Sine out from uLFO split out to O'Tool so you see non-attenuated signal and variable turns of TENuation module.

Oakley VCA into DubMix with Erbe-Verb on Aux1 giving some delay...I increase Size and Decay towards the end of the shot."

New KORG Eurorack Module?

Well, that all depends on how you define it. This module actually comes to us from Ninstrument:

"How much fun is this? Take a new Korg Mini KaossPad 2 and customize it to fit a eurorack modular. I hope Korg is watching, because they could easily double the price of their current offering just by adding a couple of necessities and putting it behind a panel. I added attenuation knobs of the incoming left and right channels and then added an amp to both outgoing channels to boost it to modular levels. I also added a latching switch to the mic input, so you can use it as an effective 3rd channel in. Using the hold feature is like setting two pots instantly, so fellow wigglers that kinda changes the game as far as immediate performance of your effects in euroland:) Before you write this off as cheesy, look at the list of features this little guy has and compare it to any of your current eurorack modules.

Product Highlights:

Control and modulate a wide assortment of cutting-edge effects with the intuitive touchpad interface

MP3 player with microSD card slot for audio data storage/exchange; add effects to audio without additional equipment!

100 effect programs ideal for putting your own “touch” on any live performance

Virtual crossfader for transitioning between onboard media files and audio inputs. Combine with an external media player – or another Mini Kaoss Pad 2 – for DJ-style performances!

3 Program memory locations instantly recall favorite effects

Includes powerful Looper, Vinyl Break, and Ducking Compressor effects distilled from the Kaoss Pad Quad

Internal mic and external audio inputs for input flexibility

Record performances – with effects performances included – and save them to microSD

6 preset audio demo loops to experiment with right out of the box

More info about the actual Korg Mini Kaoss Pad 2 here."

LAST Run of NES Carts from Ninstrument & Modifying Your NES for Modular Control

via Ninstrument

"These are just getting too time consuming to make, so it’s time for one last run. In this last round I have included special carts that have a cool new ROM from David over at PLOGUE called livenes. It allows direct control over the registers in the APU directly. Scroll down to the end of the page to get directions on how to modify your NES gamepad so you can control it directly with your modular synthesizer:)"

Eurorack Speak & Read Eurorack Module by Ninstrument

Published on Oct 27, 2014 Ninstrument.com

"Custom Speak&Read made just for eurorack modular. Many hours were spent to try and zero in on the registers that had complete phonemes and words. More info van be found at www.Ninstrument.com"

Chris Blarsky over at Ninstrument.com wrote in to let us know about his Eurorack version of the Speak&Read: "I Spent a considerable amount of time getting this one just right. Wanted more than a glitch machine, so spent copious amounts of time working out most of the key registers that formed actual words. This module uses many existing hacks into those registers. Props especially go out to highlyliquid.com for nailing down most of what was necessary!"

And via Ninstrument.com:

"I have had so many of these as bent toys that I thought it was time to make a eurorack module of one. Lots of time spent trying to nail down the right registers for the best phonemes and words. Very fast response means you can use quick triggers and for longer glitches you can use longer gates. The response has been a little over whelming to this as I knew there were a few out there who loved these, but had no idea that it was this many!!"

Plogue Releases New ROM for the NES & Ninstrument Modular CV Integration

livenes from Plogue controlled via Eurorack Modular Published on Sep 23, 2014 Ninstrument.com

"Plogue has released a great little ROM for the NES. It allows direct access to the registers in the APU (Audio processing Unit). In this vid I show an NES being controlled by a eurorack modular synthesizer. Big props goes out to David over at Plogue. More info available at their site.

http://ploguechipsounds.blogspot.com/

Carts and Eurorack Mod info will also be available soon on
http://www.Ninstrument.com"

Note the CV input should work with 1 volt per octave signals including all modular formats and synthesizers that support it.

Ninstrument Modified Pittsburgh Modular Oscillator

via Ninstrument:

"Take a good Eurorack Oscillator and with a couple of key modifications make it a great performance Oscillator! First remove the single turn potentiometer that controls frequency and replace it with a high precision ten turn potentiometer. This gives you much finer control than even the existing fine tune knob. Speaking of which, since the primary potentiometer is now much finer than the ‘fine’ tune knob, replace it with a +/- Octave switch. This makes it easier to move up or down an octave depending how you have set the frequency knob.

You can set the amount you want to move up or down by adjusting these added trimpots for the +/- octave switch.

This original idea was from Darwin Grosse (20 Objects) who likes to perform as often as he can and uses his Eurorack modular primarily when he does perform. He told me ‘I think there is enough room to fit a ten turn pot in this Pittsburgh Oscillator.’ After carefully taking one and cutting out the front PCB I realized there was. I quickly made a couple for him and one for myself and now I must say I am spoiled and wished more Eurorack modules had these ten turn pots!"

Published on Jul 20, 2014

"Heavily modified Mook Werkstatt.
More info available on www.Ninstrument.com."

via Chris Blarsky of Ninstrument:

“I have been trying to get Moog into my eurorack for some time. Finally when Moog released its Werkstatt I saw my opportunity.

So after sawing off the PCB part of the keyboard and hand carving some rosewood switch caps I finally was able to have some Moog goodness in my eurorack!”

Limited Run of NES Synth Carts

via Ninstrument where you'll find how to order.

"Neil Baldwin has authorized a limited run of carts of PR8 and Pulsar. There will only be 6 of each title available and each will be uniquely serial numbered. Please don’t miss this opportunity to try out his amazing musical titles for the NES!

You can get more information about Neil and his awesome software at his site here: http://www.nes-audio.com/ A donation will be made for each cart purchased to the ‘Just Giving’ charity under his name, located here: http://www.justgiving.com/Neil-Baldwin

These carts are difficult to create. We have built in features that we believe will be useful. They are built on the larger SOROM boards and converted to SXROM boards. This gives us room for the hex inverter chip. Nintendo only released 2 titles on SOROM boards for the NES, so they are harder to find.We have added board level sockets so you can easily remove the Eprom and replace/upgrade easily. If there are future updated versions you can easily replace the main PRG Eprom. We have used Ciclone chips in these carts so they will work with any version NES on the planet! There are two battery holders so you can change out the battery and not lose your .sav files. The usual security screws have been changed out with regular Phillips head screws so you can gain access to the internal board easily."
