"This is a video from my 2013 archives. It's a cover version of 'Derezzed' by Daft Punk called 'Derezzed' (Mile High Edit)". My rig at the time was Ableton Live, Percussa AudioCubes, Moog Etherwave Theremin Plus, and Tenori-On sending MIDI notes to an Ableton Rack with VSTs. I used the Machine to control the arrangement in Ableton on-the-fly and to live sequencing the parts I wasn't playing live as well trigger clips in Live to automate changes in Resolume. The AudioCubes were used to trigger and control effects through gestures, as well as add 4 more dimensions of gestural control for effects for the Theremin. I used the Tenori-on to improvise a lead :^)

This video is actually a vehicle to illustrate show design concepts from my 2010-2015 Dark Sci-Fi Techno Show which was in support of some of my original sci-fi theme peformances. The module provides many possibilities from sampling, granular processing, polyphonic and monophonic playback, effects and much much more. "This time I programmed in the Percussa SSP a sequencer patch with drums and a bass line.
In the Percussa i used 7 sequencer modules, 5 samplers with drum samples, 1 sampler with a bass sample, 1 Stereo Delay module and some LFOs. Externally i used a XAOC Filter for the bass sound.
Sequencer-clock is a Doepfer LFO.

Time for the next update! This will be the last one before we head off to superbooth in the coming weeks.

With this update we’ve covered a variety of requests for the MIDI module as well as simplified the use of the module. This update also comes with 2 presets, new versions of the 8-voice wavetable synth patch demonstrating the changes we made to the MIDI module (see below).

* Removed V1-V16 toggles from MIDI Module

* Added CH1-CH16 toggles

* Added CCA-CCH outputs and parameters

* Removed pitch bend data from pitch output

In-depth description

It’s now easier to use fader and knob boxes sending MIDI controller data. Previously the MIDI module would only output controllers 74, 7 and 1. With the new CCA-CCH parameters and outputs it’s possible to use 8 MIDI CCs per MIDI module. The P-page can be used to set the controller numbers.

Engine, remote, stand, 6 Wireless Pro AudioCubes, usb hub/charger and cables. Super powerful and cool performance synth. The Engine has a lot of DNA in common with the SSP. Can be controlled completely by the cubes or used as a Deep midi driven synth. Kick Ass piece of industrial design, and unique concept for synthesis. Got this for a collaborative project that fell apart (distance does not make the work grow faster). This has been sitting on my dining room table, unloved for months (and months). Have a new os upgrade and processor heatsink Bert sent me that has yet to be installed. New project and different horizons beckon."

Percussa mSSP Kickstarter Recap and Countdown

Above is a playlist featuring all the demos of the upcoming Percussa mSSP. Note the Kickstarter campaign ends tomorrow. If you've been thinking about picking one up and/or want to see it happen, now is the time. "In this video I give a tour of the hardware and software of the mSSP eurorack module. I explain how the mSSP works and show how patches can be created and edited, using a few simple demo patches. I also explain the patching system of the SSPs and how patching will work in the Mac/Windows editor that comes with the mSSP. All audio synthesis done on the mSSP, recorded using an RME interface and synced to video afterwards. Harmonic Additive Synthesis Demo with Sequencing on the Percussa mSSP

"Patch consists of 12 oscillators, 3 envelope generators, 4 bus modules, a step sequencer and reverb module. The oscillators output sine, saw, square and triangle simultaneously but we only use the sine wave outputs in this demo. The envelopes control the amplitude of the 12 oscillators (3x4) and are triggered by the step sequencer. Pitch of the oscillators is also driven by the step sequencer. The oscillators are set to various harmonic and inharmonic ratios through the demo. Additionally we use the detuning feature on some of the oscillators and edit the step sequence throughout the demo. Sound of the sine oscillators is summed using the bus modules and fed through the reverb module before it goes to the master output. All sound synthesized on the mSSP and recorded on the big SSP and synced to video afterwards.

Multi-timbral / Multi-Voice FM and sampling demo on the Percussa mSSP

"Layered FM and sampling multi-timbral demo, in which we tweak ratio/detuning parameters of FM operators of the FM part of the patch. Each voice in the patch consists of 2 sine oscillators with amplitude envelopes, as well as one sample player, looping a vocal sample. The voices go to an internal bus and reverb module. In the second part of the video we switch to a different FM patch without sample playback in the voices, where we tweak amplitude and modulation envelopes of the FM operators. All sound synthesized on the mSSP and recorded on the big SSP.
