Knobcon 22: Therevox ET-5 new Features
video upload by sonicstate
"Therevox has had some changes since we last spoke to them at knobcon 6, the ET5 is based on the Ondes Martinot, which is an expressive early electronic instrument.
Therevox have been finessing the design, adding a patch bay, a longer keybed, and keyboard pressure. There's also a great new way to play the 2 oscillators in a more duophonic style, and the sliders can be assigned to most front panel controls
These are hand built and there is a waiting list. priced at $2950"

가을.겨울에 드라이브 하면서 듣기 좋은 Kpop 음악 ( 화장 - 사거리그오빠) - Therevox 연주 윤채오빠
video by KeyMusic
Googlish:
"This is the music 'Makeover' by the band Sageori.
The harmony between the synthesizer and the cello is impressive, as if a man and woman were talking to each other."

New Therevox ET-5 - Ten Sounds in Ten Minutes
video by therevoxhq
Note the new patch panel on the left. You can find additional Therevox posts here.
"I've been in a drone and soundscape mood lately. Here are ten different sounds from the new Therevox ET-5.
1. Bass Freeze
This sound uses the new ET-5 feature of being able to freeze the pitch of Oscillator 2, which is set to a bassy sawtooth wave. The sawtooth wave is also new to the ET-5.
2. Echo Waves
Using Oscillator 2 patched into the Filter Cutoff on the Patch panel and sent to a pretty slow sine wave.
3. No Hands
This uses the ET-5's new Hold Sliders, allowing the amplitude of each oscillator to be held without pushing the intensity keys. Perfect for drones and knob tweaking in real-time.
4. Floating
The Hold 1 slider is assigned to control both the Filter Cutofff and Filter Resonance via the Patch Panel. A healthy does of internal Spring Reverb and spooky trails from the Earthquaker Transmisser pedal.
5. Fuzzy Rhythms
Osc 1 is set to a triangle wave note and Osc 2 is set to white noise, both run through the Ellman boutique fuzz.
6. Interval Harmony
Oscillator 2 is tuned to an interval of Osc 1 to create an interesting harmony. A Red Panda Raster delay is put through the FX loop to provide subtle layers.
7. Transmisser Drone
Again using the Hold Sliders for hands-free operation of both oscillators while knobs on the Transmisser and ET-5 are tweaked. The new Saturation (gain) stage is also used to add distortion.
8. Saw Mod
Oscillator 2's saw wave at an audio frequency is used to modulate the Filter cutoff and the Hold 1 slider is also used to control this cutoff, both patched through one of two Mults available on the Patch Panel.
9. Warbles.
The cutoff frequency of the filter is modulated by oscillator one in LFO mode at a medium rate, changing the sound of oscillator 1's triangle wave.
10. Bass Freeze 2
A low sawtooth bass and octiviant waveform together, using the ET-5's ability to freeze the pitch of OSC 2 by pressing down on the pressure sensitive fingerboard."

Silent Rain : Therevox, cello and Juno 6
video by Miguel d'Oliveira
"Finally had a chance to write for Therevox on a feature documentary score.
This Ondes Martenot brother thing is a future classic. Beautiful craftsmanship and lovely sound.
Ended up not using the Moog pedal and replaced it with a chorus plug-in.
Played a bit of cello just to add to the grit."

GLASYS: Can I Write a JRPG Theme... In An Hour? (From Scratch #1)
GLASYS
"Watch me succeed (or fail miserably?) at composing & recording a JRPG-style tune in one hour. (I didn't actually plan on writing a video game style theme, I just hit record and that's what came out).
So, I've been wanting to do this for a long time - get over my own perfectionism and create something as quickly as possible, without the ability to redo stuff or get into the details. Obviously it's far from perfect, but I actually had a lot of fun doing this - it's very liberating!
I would love to make this a weekly challenge. Let me know if you enjoyed watching this, and if you have any ideas for future episodes (could be anything from a certain style, a mood, or even a cover that I create in one hour)."

Therevox 10-28-2020
ynthMania SynthMania
"Practicing Therevox volume control from pedal instead of the wooden expression buttons, so that I can use the left hand to play accompaniment chords in real time. It is a challenging instrument to play, but sounds like a choir of angels"

Metroid Music - Kraid's Lair (Synth Cover)
Published on May 27, 2020 GLASYS
"My live arrangement of the Kraid's Lair theme from the original NES Metroid game, performed on the Prophet XL, Moog Matriarch and Therevox ET-4.
My Prophet X patch has multiple layers - a slow morphing synth, a piano, a choir, and some big drums that I bring in and out using an expression pedal.
That fast squiggly synth is also layered with the Prophet and was programmed with Steinberg Retrologue.
The Therevox is running through the Chase Bliss Audio MOOD and Thermae pedals.
The Moog uses it's own great stereo delay, as well as some Valhalla Shimmer.
New video every Wednesday! For the next few weeks, I'll be focusing on #Metroid music!"

"Inspired by the Ondes Martenot (1928) and the Electro-Theremin (1950), the ET-4 is controlled by moving a finger along a reference keyboard shaped to provide tactile feedback. Dual pressure sensitive intensity keys control the amplitude of the ET-4's two independent analog oscillators. Combined with a low-pass filter, white noise generator and internal spring reverb the ET-4 is an expressive and versatile performance instrument. The is the standard model, the adds an effects loop and other features and the also adds MIDI over USB output. Every ET-4 is individually hand crafted in Canada using high quality components and select North American Walnut."

"In the style of the Ondes Martenot and Electro Therimin, this is a sliding pitch synth with analog oscillators. Great condition and sound, the expression keys add a great dynamic control to the timbre. Midi over USB has been added to the 4.3 version so it integrates well with softsynths. This particular unit has really nice walnut casing and includes power supply. Bought this for a specific project, which is done, nice synth but I am space limited and the studio is too cluttered to use!"
