Hidden Patterns By Miguel d'Oliveira
Hidden Patterns, on Spotify, is a new album from Miguel d'Oliveira whose videos have been featured here on MATRIXSYNTH.
via Miguel:
"Between documentaries soundtracks of the last 4 years I would try to write a track that was as different as possible from what I had just done.
Since each has an unusual pattern (structure, rhythm etc) I decided to release them as an album.
Hope you like them."

Escape From New York on synths and Hurdy Gurdy
Published on Apr 9, 2020 Miguel d'Oliveira
"Hurdy Gurdy (Denis Soirat model) tracked 10 times + a few synth lines to colour it up
Gurdy was processed (distortion, chorus etc...)
I could lie and say the synths were vintage machines but it was all a bunch of cheap plug ins : )
music by John Carpenter
murdered by Miguel d'Oliveira in isolation"
--
Never realized a Hurdy Gurdy could sound like a synth.

Looptrotter Monster abusing a Korg Volca FM
Published on Mar 3, 2018 Miguel d'Oliveira
"First attempt to mangle & distort a synth sound from a Korg Volca FM with the mighty FET compressor / tube saturator Looptrotter Monster.
Very promising, I think.
Deliberately picked a sound that I hate (gold old digital piano) to see if I could turn it into something I liked."

MicrowaveXT on Tape Loops
video upload by Miguel d'Oliveira
"Playing with the artifacts coming from the use of tape loops (such as tape delay and the finite length of recording tape, etc...) to sketch a song idea.
The tape delay here is very close to what you get from a popular piece of kit such as the Roland Space Echo (except this is not varispeed and I didn't block the erase head)"
