video upload by Hispasonic

GS Music Bree6 on the desk.

video upload by Hispasonic

Click CC for subtitles at the bottom of the player once the video starts.

Video descpription in Googlish:

Instead of a traditional review of the Sequential Fourm, we decided to take a different approach: putting it to work on a specific track. And not just any track: "Fade to Grey" by Visage—an absolute classic of 1980s British synth-pop. Every melodic and accompanying track you’re about to hear was created exclusively using the Fourm, starting from factory sounds (drawn from the approximately 300 initial presets) with only minimal tweaks. The only element not provided by the synth is the drums: an AI-generated Roland CR-78-style pattern, occasionally reinforced with a kick and snare from Logic’s sound library.

Along the way, Pablo demonstrates how to truly harness the power of a modern polyphonic analog synthesizer: polyphonic aftertouch (key for the lead vocal line, where some notes come alive while others fade out completely), intense mixer feedback (ranging from subtle thickening to nonlinear behavior with "ghost" harmonics), audio-rate filter modulation from Oscillator 2 (adding anything from brightness and vocal-like character to total sonic breakdown, depending on the intensity), glide for creating transition sweeps, and the LFO in random mode feeding the filter to ensure every note sounds unique.

We also cover specific recording techniques: layering basslines via MIDI using two different sounds and panning them; doubling hand-played pads so that the two takes aren't identical; and recording a MIDI pattern to free up both hands, allowing you to perform real-time timbral tweaks—adjusting the filter, resonance, and modulation intensity—during the actual audio recording.

📝 A quick refresher on the Fourm: a compact 4-voice analog synthesizer featuring two VCOs per voice, a 4-pole low-pass filter derived from the Prophet-5, one global LFO, two ADSR envelopes, a mixer with feedback capabilities, no internal effects, a mono output, a 37-key "slim" Tactive keyboard with polyphonic aftertouch, and a modulation matrix—inherited from the Pro-1—that is directly accessible right on the front panel. 00:00 Original vs. Fourm Version

KORG Phase8, un sintetizador ACÚSTICO peculiar y asequible

video upload by Hispasonic

Googlish:

"The Korg Phase8 is a unique and affordable musical device, priced under €100, and available later this year. It uses metal bars driven by an electromagnet, allowing unique sounds to be generated by manipulating a few parameters: level/speed (which can saturate and break the sound) and envelope, which controls the duration and attack of the sound, from percussive and short to softer and longer.

It stands out for its robust, metal construction, which is surprising given its low cost. It offers creative options such as adding dampers, manually striking the bars to produce sounds, or using electronic action. It includes a step recording mode that allows you to record small sequences of up to 8 steps, although it is also possible to record in real time. It has an effect with three variations, including delay (from a short slap-like delay to a longer one with feedback to create echo) or modulation, capable of tremolo and pitch variations, which can be adjusted to add animation or extend the duration of the delay. sound.

In terms of connectivity, it has USB, MIDI, sync, and a voltage input that controls some common parameters. It's a rudimentary but interesting device that creates a simple and inexpensive instrument. While complex performance isn't expected, its metallic design and the ability to experiment with sounds make it a very unique offering, developed at Korg's headquarters in Berlin.

ARTEMIS, un polifónico ANALÓGICO compacto y completo

video upload by Hispasonic

Googlish:

"The good taste that Dreadbox usually leaves with its analog synthesizers is present in the Artemis polyphonic synthesizer, which offers six subtractive voices and complements them with four effects to achieve sounds through its stereo outputs, despite the compactness of its module format.

We hadn't brought this model to Hispasonic, which has recently become available in stores, so we took advantage of our visit to Superbooth 2025 to introduce you to its features and show it in action with several of the first presets of the up to 512 it can store internally.

GIGANTIC controller for YAMAHA MONTAGE M

video upload by Hispasonic

Click CC on the bottom of the player for subtitles.

"Just seeing and touching this marvel has already justified going to Superbooth 2025. Two huge hardware editors that show the guts of ANX and FMX, two of the synthesis systems available in Montage M.

You can imagine the feeling of being in front of such a display of controls to edit a synth with the power of Montage. PG-Anx and PG-Fmx aesthetically rival the huge cabinets of the first experimental hand-built synthesizers.

The front end of the Montage M, with its dual display and faders, encoders, and pushbuttons, is itself an excellent solution for sound creation. And the software version of the Montage M (ESP) can also be used as a keyboard editor for those who prefer it. But there is no doubt that being in front of these monstrous panels is irreplaceable.

In case anyone is tempted to purchase them: as you can imagine, it is not Yamaha's intention to market them. Too bad!"

Moog Messenger demo @ Superbooth

video upload by Hispasonic

Click CC for subtitles.

"The new Moog Messenger upholds the brand's tradition in architecture, sound, and… price. At 849 euros, it’s hardly the most affordable monophonic synth on the market, but it’s an appealing choice for those seeking a Moog. It blends original Moog tradition with some newer features for a variety of sounds.

In the Messenger, you’ll find options like bass compensation when increasing resonance, wavefolding, continuously variable waveforms in the oscillators, FM between oscillators and to the multimode filter, a sub-oscillator that stands out with its variable waveform (almost a third oscillator), looping envelopes… With presets, a sequencer, and an arpeggiator, but without effects or polyphony, it left us particularly impressed with its robust and intuitive bass sound creation and transformation.

Wisely, Moog only teased partial details of the new Messenger two days before Superbooth 2025 kicked off, drawing a big crowd to their booth. Eight units were available to try in Berlin, where we got to showcase it. What do you think?

MAGNOLIA, one of the HIGHLIGHTS of Superbooth

video upload by Hispasonic

Click CC for subtitles.

"We went inside the Frap Tools booth at the Berlin Superbooth to explore the Magnolia, a polyphonic synthesizer that has caught everyone's attention.

Magnolia stands out for its unique architecture, with two oscillators that break with convention: a through-zero oscillator that allows analog linear FM, evoking the classic timbres of Yamaha's FM synthesizers, but in a 100% analog format. It also features a more traditional oscillator with octave controls, variable waveform and a wave folder to add richness and timbral complexity. Want metallic sounds or subtractive textures? Magnolia dares to do both.

This synth also impresses with its polyphony and bithermality, allowing everything from dense sounds in dual mode to splits and morphing between presets. Each voice features two independent filters (low pass and high pass), extensive modulations with synchronizable LFOs, dedicated envelopes and an effects stage that includes analog distortion and digital slots for delays and modulations (still under development), as well as a built-in sequencer and expressive controls such as aftertouch, expression pedals and modulatable panning.

In this video you will hear sound demos that show the versatility of the Magnolia, from expansive stereo leads to vibrant textures with delayed vibrato. We also tell you details about its release, scheduled for late 2025 at an estimated price of 3995 €.

¿A qué suena un sintetizador de 25.000€? Probamos el imponente Schmidt

video upload by Hispasonic

Googlish:

"A total beast of analog keyboard synths, Schmidt has been coming to Superbooth for years. It was time for us to go to him, although that leaves those who do it marked for life.

The panel already says it all, and the details confirm it. A macro synthesizer that doesn't skimp when it comes to offering analog power, and it already can, given its price of 25,000 euros (yes, just as you read it). How many times have you heard of a synth with 7 simultaneous filters on each voice in this type of format? Polyphony and multitimbrality that reach 8 voices to use up to 8n sounds. Total absence of effects and a powerful sound that doesn't need them."

Oberheim OB-X8, a monster roars at Superbooth

video upload by Hispasonic

"The first instrument from the reborn Oberheim is a monster for a variety of reasons: for its size and price, of course, but above all for the heritage it carries inside, condensing the sound of four great synths: OB-X, OB-XA, OB-8 and OB-SX, covering a golden era spanning from 1979 to 1983.

We had the chance to try it out at Superbooth with Gerry Bassermann, who introduced us to its classic sound engine, its new keyboard, its filters and oscillators, and the mythical 'page 2' secrets."

Befaco AC/DC, interfaz de audio Eurorack

video upload by Hispasonic

Googlish:

"Befaco was once again present at the Berlin Superbooth, this time with a much less analog proposal than usual: AC/DC, a continuously coupled audio interface in Eurorack format.

AC/DC is based on Rebel Technology's OWL platform, and this is probably its biggest draw. It allows you to send and receive both CV and 16-bit/48KHz audio, as well as load patches from the Rebel library. It is compatible with most popular DAWs and CV generators, and also serves as an audio/CV processor for iOS apps."

Tesseract, módulos Eurorack desde Sevilla

video upload by Hispasonic
