New 4 Zone CV Bus Case | Make Noise

video upload by MAKEN0ISE

"A brand new edition of the 7U Case has arrived! So let's make a patch in a Shared System in the 2013 wooden Enclave 7U that is still going strong to this day!

There is at least one error in the voiceover for this video: can you catch it?

Our 208hp 7U 4 Zone CV Bus Case arrives ready to put to use with your modules, patch cables and inspiration. The powder coated metal construction offers excellent mechanical durability. The mounting rails have been updated to black anodized tapped strip, replacing the sliding nut design of previous versions of the case. The lid is removable and can be closed with the system fully patched. The sleek matte black finish was selected to match our line of Black & Gold modules, and it looks great with just about any module installed. This finish will wear nicely showing the story of your modular synth's travels over the years.

The Make Noise 4 Zone Power system is a new approach to accommodating the ever growing universe of Eurorack modules. The multi-zone power solution is like having multiple independent power supplies in a single case. This allows for isolating noisy modules from noise sensitive modules. Each Zone features isolated +12 VDC and -12VDC supplies and a dedicated ground return path. Included are 31 power shrouded connectors to help prevent incorrect installation. The total available power available is +12VDC @ 4A, -12VDC @ 2.4A and +5VDC @ 1A.

2. Imaginando COLAPSO Demo - No Talking

"20 minutes of COLAPSO factory presets, played straight from the synth. Every sound you hear is built from the measured emission lines of real atoms.

🎹 Try it free, no time limit: https://www.imaginando.pt/products/co...

COLAPSO is an additive synthesizer where you don't choose the partials. You pick one of 22 elements from the periodic table, and its emission spectrum becomes the timbre. Each spectral line becomes a partial with its own level and its own decay, cross-checked against the NIST Atomic Spectra Database. The main control, Observation, trades time against pitch like the uncertainty principle: a broadband click at one end, a pure, stable tone at the other.

"What does an atom sound like? Meet COLAPSO, the new atomic synthesizer from Imaginando.

Pick an element from the periodic table and its measured emission spectrum becomes the timbre. Every partial is a real spectral line, cross-checked against the NIST Atomic Spectra Database and transposed down into hearing range, with its own level and its own decay. One control, Observation, trades time against pitch like the uncertainty principle: a broadband click at one end, a pure, stable tone at the other, and a whole territory in between.

New Make Noise 208hp 7U 4 Zone CV Bus Case and CV Big Bus!

Press release follows:

Make Noise is proud to announce our new 208hp 7U 4 Zone CV Bus Case and CV Big Bus!

The 208hp 7U 4 Zone CV Bus Case arrives ready to be put to use with your modules, patch cables, and inspiration. The powder coated metal construction offers excellent mechanical durability. The mounting rails have been updated to black anodized tapped strips, replacing the sliding nut design of previous versions of the case. The lid is removable and can be closed with the system fully patched. The bus boards now includes 31 shrouded headers for connection to modules. The sleek matte black finish was selected to match our line of Black & Gold modules, and it looks great with just about any module installed. This finish will wear nicely, showing the story of your modular synth's travels over the years.

The total available power available is +12VDC @ 4A, -12VDC @ 2.4A, and +5VDC @ 1A.

The CV Bus is a more functional approach to the “multiple” utility of the modular synthesizer. The CV Big Bus is an evolution of the original CV Bus design from 2013 for Alessandro Cortini's personal Make Noise system. In an effort to accommodate the increased modulation density of the New Universal Synthesizer System, the CV Big Bus doubles the channel count from 4 to 8. These 8 channels are distributed across the center of the system, allowing for quick, clean, and intuitive patching. The numerical indicators are illuminated, providing visual indication of channel number, level, rate and polarity for up to 8 signals to be shared throughout a patch. This distribution method is unlike the typical multiple since the control signals will appear beneath their potential destinations, resulting in less cable mess. The color coding and visual indication makes navigating complex patches easier and more intuitive. Typically, the CV Bus would be used to share the most important control signals in a patch, such as your clock, modulation, sequence, and audio signals - any type of signal the system creates may be shared!

A high quality Stereo Line Driver converts modular synthesizer signal levels to the commonly used Line Level. There are mini-jack inputs for Left or Mono, and Right for Stereo, a single master volume control, as well as a stereo line output pair. The left output doubles as a TRS ⅛” headphone output. These outputs are capable of driving a long cable out to a PA System or a set of Headphones. They are AC coupled with a built-in limiting circuit (with visual indication) that prevents damage to ears and PA system when the patching gets experimental.

PlantsSystem-KOSMOS-RGB #kosmosrgb #raspberrypi #pico #rgbkeypad

video upload by plantssystem

"KOSMOS is a minimalist generative music instrument that integrates KOSMOS2 (the core of the generation algorithm) and KOSMOS-RGB (visual feedback and control system).

Based on rotation, trajectory, and smooth transitions, the sound continuously changes autonomously.

The exposed electronic circuitry and RGB lighting visualize the generation process happening inside, functioning not as decoration, but as the 'language of the instrument.'

Responding instantly to touch, MIDI, and external synchronization,
small operations change the trajectory and alter the flow of sound,
and the same music never repeats even with the same settings.

KOSMOS is neither a synth nor a sequencer;
it's an instrument that exists as a small generative environment.

A universe just for you, fitting in the palm of your hand."

He Made the Presets for This $2,500 Synth. Here's What He Left Out.

video upload by Vulture Culture

"I programmed some of the factory patches for the ASM Leviasynth. Tonight I'm giving away how I actually do it.

We're opening with a full cover of "Inner Universe" from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex — every sound built on the Leviasynth, nothing else in the chain — and then we're building an original 2000s cyberpunk track from a completely empty patch, live, start to finish.

Here's the part most Leviasynth tutorials skip: you do NOT need to master 8-operator FM synthesis to get incredible sounds out of this thing. My easy-FM method uses one, two, maybe three operators to generate a raw waveform with some teeth on it — and then lets the Leviasynth's analog filter do all the real sculpting. Cheap FM, expensive filter. It's how I built most of my favorite factory patches, and by the end of tonight you'll be using it too.

WHAT WE'RE COVERING

The easy-FM method — 1-3 operators instead of complex algorithm programming
Why the ASM Leviasynth's analog filter is the best-kept secret on the instrument
Building a cyberpunk bass, arp, pad and lead from an init patch
Phase distortion on the Leviasynth — the Casio CZ sound hiding inside a 2026 synth
Getting noise-style texture out of a synth with no noise oscillator
Algorithm morphing as a musical performance tool, not a party trick
Sound design for anime soundtrack, cyberpunk, darksynth and industrial styles"

He Loves This About This Synth

"The trusty Prophet 08. I've had this synth a long time. It's not super inspiring right out of the box but as you learn it more deeply, it's a lot of fun, really inspiring and sounds awesome. Especially once you learn the sequencer and how much you can do with it creatively. The LFO's and assignable envelope are also very cool. It has a lot of ways to modify your sound. Fun Stuff.
