Arcaico Murena Stereo filter, vca mixer #synthesizer #eurorack #modularsynth
video upload by Arcaico Instruments
"Arcaico Murena is a feature-rich analog module designed to deliver a distinctive, unpredictable, and versatile sound. With a width of 26 HP and a depth of 38 mm, the Murena is a concentration of functionality in a compact space.
A 6-channel mixer, each equipped with a distortion VCA, attenuverter and switches to select the internal routing destination. The channels are divided into two groups of 3, allowing flexible stereo management. Each VCA can be controlled either manually via the panel or via bipolarized CVs, offering extensive modulation possibilities.
Each group of 3 channels terminates in a multi-mode filter , capable of generating extremely aggressive sounds. After the filter, the signal can be routed to a distortion or directly to the mix. This configuration allows the two groups to be treated as a stereo pair or to use A-B crossfade modulation for dynamic transitions.
Every parameter of the Murena is manageable either from the panel or via CV, offering complete and creative control. The ability to patch the module to itself allows endless sonic combinations to be explored, making each use unique and unpredictable.
6-channel MIXER/VCA with CV attenuverter, cv and switch for routing (3-channel stereo mixer or 6-channel mono mixer or a combination of both)
Independent mono output of all 6 channels (clean)
2 multi-mode VCFs (LP/BP/HP) at 12db/oct with CV attenuverter, independent clean outputs, indepentent distorted outputs, fade output and 1V/Oct control (tuned up to 5 octaves)
OVEDRIVE with cv control on each filter
Stereo/mono/dual mono output and mono A+B output controllable via cv
Left and right OUTPUTS controllable via cv"

New Eurorack Modules Coming From Doepfer
Doepfer will be showcasing the above new modules at SUPERBOOTH25. Details on each follow.
Check with dealers on the right for upcoming availability.
Module A-119-2 is kind of a dual version of module A-119 without envelope follower. Instead two amplifiers are available and the module width is 4 HP only.
The module contains two amplifiers with separately adjustable amplification levels. Each channel is equipped with an overload display. The module can be used also for stereo signals, e.g. the stereo output of a smartphone.
Controls and displays:
Level 1/2: manual control of the amplification in the range 0 - about 45.
Overload 1/2: overload LED, begins to light up for output levels beyond about 10Vpp (+/-5V)
In 1: audio input 1 (monophonic or stereophonic, see technical details)
In 2: audio input 2 (monophonic)
Out 1/2: audio output (monophonic)
Technical details:
for higher amplifications the two amplifiers can be daisy-chained
normalling options: the signal applied to socket In 1 can be normalled to socket In 2 in different ways by means of a jumper on the pc board:
socket In 1 is connected via a mono patch cable (standard patch cable) to a monophonic signal and this signal is normalled to socket In 2 (i.e. the same input signal for both sub-units): jumper on pin header JP2 in upper position
socket In 1 is connected via a 3.5 mm stereo TRS cable to a stereophonic signal and the second channel of the stereo signal is normalled to socket In 2: jumper on pin header JP2 in lower position
no normalling: jumper is removed from pin header JP2
all inputs and outputs are DC coupled. Thus the module can be used also for the amplifications of control voltages.
Infinite Machinery Demo by Todd Barton

"Just got turned onto these cool modules from Infinite Machinery which is located here in my little town. Really digging them. Enjoy these brief test drives."
Todd Barton's Patreon: / synthtodd
The Infinite Machinery Hexa VCA is a 6 channel VCA with DC coupling and a unique normalization function. All in 12 HP
Signal inputs are DC coupled.
CV input response, 0 to +5V
Maximum amplification is unity gain, or 1.
Channels with no CV input will have CV normalized
to the CV of the channel above. This cascading of CV
values is defined in two groups, channels 1 - 3 and 4 - 6.
For example: If CV is patched to channel 1 and no CV
patched into channels 2 & 3 - Channels 2 & 3 will
follow the CV of channel 1.
Patch CV into channel 2 and nothing into channel 3
then channel 3 will follow the CV of channel 2.
The same hold true for channels 4 - 6, with 4 being
the start of the CV cascade.
Module depth - 34mm
Current draw - 40mA +-

Musically Meaningful Clock Divisions
The T=3^x⋅2^y Midi Clock Divider makes it easy to explore rhythmic possibilities. The intuitive front panel shows the relationship between all outputs at a glance.
Flexible Rhythms: Outputs are organized into triplet, standard, and dotted note divisions, perfect for creating musically meaningful patterns.
Seamless Integration: Combine any three outputs with the 4051 Permutational Sequencer for instant access to unique and inspiring sequences.
Reset in and out: To sync to other modules or use the reset in to make it reset itself if you want different sequence lengths.
Whether you're building complex grooves or experimenting with polyrhythms, this module simplifies the process.
Simple Inputs, Complex Sequences
The 4051 Permutational Sequencer turns simple gate signals into complex sequences. This sequencer uses three gate inputs as a binary number, which determines the order of its steps.
Dynamic Variations: Feed it three successively halved standard notes like quarter, eighth and sixteenth notes for a standard left-to-right sequence. But the real magic happens when you replace any of the inputs with another signal, resulting in limitless creative possibilities and rhythmic variation.
User-Friendly Design: Color-coded inputs make it easy to understand and control.
CV Output Range and Level Options:
The CV output range is adjustable via a dedicated switch, allowing you to tailor it to your specific needs. Additionally, the level knob provides precise control over attenuation for fine-tuning the signal.
Trigger Output:
Each time the sequencer advances to a new step, a trigger pulse is sent from the trigger output, making it easy to synchronize with other modules or external gear.
This sequencer is a powerful tool for creating evolving patterns that push your creativity to new heights.
Perfectly Spaced Notes, Dual Voice, MIDI Control
Take your melodies and harmonies to the next level with the MC2VQ MIDI Controllable Dual Voice Quantizer.
Dual CV/Gate Output: Creates two sets of CV/Gate outputs from the same scale or chord, resulting in lovely and complementary harmonies.
Unique Mixing Capabilities: Blend the three analog inputs differently for each output using dedicated mixers, generating beautiful harmonies or cascading arpeggios.
MIDI Input: Use a MIDI keyboard or sequencer to set scales or chords on the fly, enabling seamless chord progressions and harmonic shifts.
MIDI Output: Use the two voices generated by the quantizer to control your MIDI synths, or send the output to the next MC2VQ to synchronize scales across both modules.
Smooth Transitions: The quantizer’s algorithm distributes active notes evenly across the 1V/oct range for fluid and consistent transitions.
Trigger Inputs: Optional trigger inputs let you synchronize outputs with a fixed rhythm for precise timing.
Whether you're composing melodies or creating complex arpeggios, this module provides a unique and expressive way to shape your sound.

SEED - Ambient Modular #3 // Arbhar, Analog Four mkii
video upload by David Falcon
"Third piece with Instruo Arbhar. In this case I have created with Kontakt six chord samples with Olafur Arnalds' Chamber Evolutions, which have a lot of movement simply by sustaining a chord. It is two tracks overlapping, one with the Evos and one with the waves.
The idea was to make several parts going from one chord to another, or with a slow scan recreate the chord sequence, but finally by exploring only one of the samples I created this. It was not necessary to use more. The possibilities of this module are incredible. In this audio, Pamela's New Workout is very important. It is sending a pentatonic sequence to the 1v/oct input of the Arbhar and is what creates the melody.
There is a fairly subtle lead with the Analog Four mkii that contrasts quite well with the orchestral samples in my opinion.
I have called this piece Seed because these days the germ of an album idea has emerged... Let's see where it takes me. Thanks you for passing by!
edit: In the video I mention that the reverb is the internal from Arbhar but that is not the case. The Arbhar goes through the Analog Four external inputs and the reverb is added there."

The Center for Haptic Audio Interaction Research Introduces ILSE
video upload by The Center for Haptic Audio Interaction Research

via The Center for Haptic Audio Interaction Research
"Ilse the Eurorack synth voice in one DIY module is making warm but harsh Berlin Techno / Surgeon style stabs.
Ilse is an elegantly minimal, yet fully functional synthesizer voice in a compact 10 HP Eurorack module. The only thing you need to let it meow is a CV source to trigger its 1V/Oct frequency input (or a MIDI to CV converter and a MIDI sequencer) . Because it has a low part count it is ideal for Eurorack beginners or entry-level DIY projects.
Ilse is named after a cat, living in the legendary “Villa” in Weimar, Germany. The “Villa” was a place where a community lived and came together. Many underground concerts and parties took place here before the house got sold, renovated, and the mayor moved in. We created the graphics on the aluminum face-plate in her memory. Ilse (the synth) makes great acid sounds, so it was only logical to illustrate a cat tripping. Turn the knobs to make her look around or roll her eyes.
Ilse is designed to be affordable, easy to build, yet flexible, and feature rich. It is a synthesizer voice for your Eurorack, but can even be driven without a rack using two 9V batteries (not included).
Ilse is fully open source (KiCad schematic and layout is available in a git repository) and inspired by Syntherjack’s single-chip synthesizer Totoro. Check out his website with nice explanations, e.g. on the filter (we use the same filter on Ilse). We extended the design for external voltage control on filter, oscillators and LFO. Unlike Totoro, Ilse is designed around a unique oscillator design, which integrates the exponential conversion directly into the oscillator core. This results in an efficient circuitry saving you build time, parts and costs.
PCB and face-plate are manufactured in the EU. Kitting was done by our friends from Befaco in Barcelona. Complete assembly manual can be found in our forum.

VEMIA is Peter Forrest's auction house. He is the author of The A-Z of Analogue Synthesizer Books.
"PPG Synthesizer 1002 for sale serviced an comes with fligtcase Had this for almost 6 years and serviced by Stefan Hubner who has a deep understanding of PPG systems. Some things to observe, one underside key broken but doesn't affect play..these are originals. Jacks for CV, Gate and filter modulation have been added and adjusted to 1V/oct. 'The mains wiring has been re-done according to current safety expectations (not to say standards) including a 'pig tail' cable with an IEC male plug for easier connection. CV and Gate were never standard on the 1002 so the ones having it were all more or less hacks, especially when it comes to oscillator CV. One would expect 1V/octave with 0 volts at a defined note usually. For the 1002 without my modification this means you set the potentiometer on the back that usually came with CV in to track 1V per octave but then had to add an offset of something around 2 volts to reach the lowest C. My approach disconnects the keyboard instead of adding some external voltage somewhere and simulates exactly what the keyboard delivers starting at 0 volts for the lowest C. The connection is being made by a relay actuated by the contacts in the CV jack. By simulating the keyboard, all panel functions remain active on the external CV (glide, tune, modulation) Trigger/Gate is a voltage input (V-Trig) working from 5V up. The filter input only modulates the filter setting and is not intended to make the filter track, for this purpose you should rather use the panel knob that attaches the cutoff control to the keyboard CV.' No second chance listing on this."

Introducing Samarkanda 1953 Resampling Delay Performance Station by Xaoc Devices
video upload by Xaoc Devices

"Meet the lovely Samarkanda - a monster of a delay with unlimited potential
Xaoc Devices Samarkanda is a digital quad delay module with extensive patching capabilities and a lot of flexibility for signal mangling. It can be used as four entirely independent delays, a dual stereo delay, a complex/multi-tap or multi-channel delay, a quad/polyphonic resonator, a dual chorus, a dual flanger reverb, a looper (with sound on sound!), and a granulator, or any combination of those. You can reverse the delayed signal, hold it, squeeze and stretch it beyond all recognition and still go back to the original piece of audio captured in the buffer! The internal lossless normalization (the signal doesn't leave the digital domain) combined with top-notch components (including 24-bit AKM converters and 32-bit internal processing) are responsible for high sound quality. Samarkanda has been conceived in the truly modular spirit. Not only can you control almost all its features remotely with CV/gates, but the external feedback path gives you the opportunity to process the delayed signal with other modules.
Samarkanda offers a wide range of delay times beginning at a mere 0.5ms and reaching up to 15 seconds per channel. That means that, by stacking its four channels, you can achieve up to one minute delay! There are two operating modes switchable individually for each channel. Analog delivers pitch changes that resemble classic analog tape and BBD delays. When you combine it with the looping Hold function, you can play Samarkanda with any 1v/octave CV source - using the Sync function you can even loop single wave cycles. The Digital mode gives you a granular buffer-scrubbing effect (no pitch change) across the whole delay time range. You can seamlessly switch back and forth between modes without losing any information. You can use Samarkanda for multiple tasks at the same time - from four independent delay lines through any combination of channels processing the same signal up to a quad behemoth. You can also use the linking feature for ease of operation (the first channel in the chain acts as the main control source for the others).
As most settings operate on a per-channel basis, you can freely combine different features (such as analog/digital behaviour, delay time range, reverse and hold functions, etc.) in a configuration of your choosing. You can synchronize each of its channels separately to a different source, either via the Sync input, or by using the tap-tempo functionality (with multiplication and division galore). Should you ever get lost, the Purge button comes in handy when/if things start to spiral out of control!
Notable features:
Quadruple resampling delay
Lossless chaining of sections
Delay range of 0.5ms to 15 seconds per channel for a total of 60 seconds when stacked
Analog (tape-like) and digital (granular) sweep behaviours
Continuous, synced, and tap-tempo operation
Clock division and multiplication from 1:8 to 8:1
Buffer freezing and 1V/oct loop playback control
Reverse delay effect
Multiple options for coupling channels
width 42HP
depth 40mm (including cable bracket)
+230mA/-90mA
PRICE: 620 EUR MSRP, available now!"

Arcaico Dominus Dual complex oscillator #eurorack #synthesizer #modularsynth
video upload by Arcaico Instruments
"Dominus is a dual complex vco Saw Core with integrated wavefolder. Each VCO is independent and has 4 waveforms and all the classic basic VCO controls, with a very stable 1v/oct control up to 10 octaves.
The wavefolder section is independent and inside is connected to the vco, through the switches you can select one of the 3 waveforms, you can mix the two vcos or use only one.
By modifying the sound in a non-linear way the wavefolder will create wonderful sounds.
The Radius potentiometer adjusts the range over a certain frequency band.
In the CV control you can use envelopes, lfos, and sequencers to create very complex soundscapes.
The SHAPE knob adjusts, modifies and distorts the final result.
The VCO1 and VCO2 potentiometers adjust the level of each VCO, various level settings will create very different sounds.
Frequency range min.6hz max.24.000hz"

DIY Oscillator using PIC12F1571
video upload by alloutofsync
"I used this weekend to create a square wave oscillator that operates with the PIC12F1571, which is an extremely affordable CPU available for just $0.71 each.
Since it was my first time using PWM, I spent an entire day generating a square wave at the desired frequency. The required settings and their interconnections were so complex to me, so that I had to carefully investigate each one as I went, which was quite challenging.
The next day, I spent working on ensuring that the output sound smoothly followed the CV input. To convert the CV input into a frequency assuming 1V/Oct, exponential calculations are typically used. However, the PIC12F1571 has limited program memory, so I couldn't use a floating-point math library. I had no choice but to approximate the calculation of powers of two using a Taylor series expansion and rely solely on integer arithmetic. Initially, I approximated up to the second-order term, but the accuracy was insufficient at higher frequencies. Eventually, I extended the approximation to the fourth-order term, which gave excellent results.
While testing with the Pico3 sequencer, I noticed that when the RATE was set to the maximum, the output failed to keep up with the changes. Increasing the PIC's clock frequency from 1MHz to 4MHz resolved the issue, and it followed the changes without any problems.
At this point, about 70% of the program memory has already been used, so I'm not sure how much further I can expand. At the very least, I want to implement duty cycle adjustment. If possible, I’d also like to use an additional PWM channel to detune and combine the signals for richer synthesis."
