1. EMS Synthi with Universal Sequencer and RSF Kobol #emssynthi #rsfkobol #rolandph830
It’s a tune done on the Synthi and EMS Universal Sequencer with some help from RSF Kobol processed by Roland PH-830 phaser.
2. 2 x EMS Universal Sequencer with Roland MC-202 #emssynthi #emsuniversalsequencer #mc202
Universal Sequencer is playing a sequence on the Synthi and the 202 - that’s why it’s called “universal” as both sequence and real time layers have CV/gate outputs. No effects other than spring reverb on the Synthi.
"Sorry I could not film too much as there were student rehearsals taking place and an interview about to take place in the Pete Townshend Studio at the University of West London https://www.uwl.ac.uk/study/study-fac...
Music from my ATMOS album Height Supremacy, a track called 'Miles From Cornwell'
I thought a very apt track to play as EMS is based in Cornwell."

"Coaxing saturated sequences from @C74connect Max 9 + the Pin Electronics Portabella — a modern take on the iconic EMS Synthi A 😍
We recently got a used Portabella in the shop and couldn't resist the opportunity to make some noise! But it's not the only rad used synth in our shop ... check out our inventory of THOUSANDS of used, rare, and vintage instruments on our site"
"Beautiful Synthj AKS for sale! The KS keyboard is faulty so doesn’t trigger anything, but everything else works as intended! Currently triggering via Kenton Pro Solo, which will be included in the sale !"
"Universal Sequencer on the right is master and the one on the left is synced to it. Otherwise it’s an equivalent of two Synthi AKS playing side by side. No additional effects used."

Some sad news in. Felix Visser, the man behind Synton and such synth clasics as the Syrinx, Fenix, 3000 series modular, and more, has passed away. He recently worked with This Is Not Rocket Science on their Fenix synthesizer as well as the inspiration behind the AnalogFX SER-2020. We lost one of the greats, a synth pioneer.
"Synton was a manufacturer and distributor of high-end electronic music equipment in the Netherlands. They were one of the principal importers of music equipment from E-Mu, Ensoniq, and Fairlight in Europe. Felix Visser, the founder of Synton began the company in 1973 after purchasing an EMS Synthi AKS and setting out to produce similar equipment with more of the functionality that he was looking for in an analog synth. Eventually, the company developed Synton Syntovox vocoders as well as the System 2000 and System 3000 modular synthesizers that were sold to Karlheinz Stockhausen and distributed in the United States by Bob Moog's Big Briar Inc. In 1983, Felix Visser, product specialist Marc Paping, and designer Bert Vermeulen created the Synton Syrinx, a monophonic analog synthesizer that contained unique features such as a metal touchplate for manipulating sound as well as a formant filter."
The image on the left is a screenshot from an interview with him at the 2018 Soundmit synth event (embedded below and previously featured here).
See the Synton label for numerous posts featuring his creations.
"Up for sale is an original 1974 EMS Synthi 100 Synthesizer. I am the second owner of this amazing instrument. It is in incredible condition for an item of its age and size. Very few of these were produced in the early 1970s and most of them were sold to institutions, private studios and musicians - these almost never turn up for sale on the open market.
This particular Synthi 100 was one of the last produced by EMS (London) and has all of the standard factory updates including newer scope, sequencer memory display and patchable multimeter. below is a list of what is included with the auction:
1. Zinovieff featured on "Tomorrows World" (1968) - Clip from BBC Program
2. Zinovieff from BBC's "New Horizons" (1971)
3. Rise and Fall of EMS London - Zinovieff interview
4. EMS Studio London - Peter describes the challenges of the electronic studio
5. Peter and Robin at EMS Oxfordshire Studio
6. Malcolm Clarke demonstrates Synthi 100
7. VCS3 Waves and Harmonics
8. Liz Parker demonstrates Synthi 100 Radiophonic

Here we have one of the rarest items produced by EMS, it was incredibly expensive while in production, think of it as 3 layers of CV recording - you can record and play back CVs from external envelope generators, Pitch to CV converters, random voltage generators (etc.) or its own built in keyboard.
If you are interested in history, this particular Synthi Sequencer is serial #001 making it possibly the first production digital sequencer assembled and sold by EMS. I updated this unit to later spec while under restoration, original cables and components are included with this sale along with a manual and service documents I purchased from EMS in Cornwall.
Please note: The DK1 keyboard in the photo is shown for scale and is not included with this sequencer, however it is available in another listing.
Condition:
This synthi has recently been restored and calibrated. It is very clean but exhibits signs of its age such as wood chips and scratches. Contact me for more details on the condition and restoration."
"In this patch talk, I explore the character of the Analogue Systems RS500N Synthi Filter, paired with the Nano Modules ONA VCO.
The video is fully spoken and recorded live: I build the patch step by step, adjusting resonance, input drive, and modulation to show how the Synthi-style filter reacts with different signals and CV sources.
🎛️ Modules used:
• Analogue Systems RS500N Synthi Filter
• Nano Modules ONA (analog VCO)
This session focuses on sound shaping, resonance behaviour, and the unique response of the EMS-style filter inside a Eurorack context."
"This is the first part in a series of videos featuring the UK modular stalwarts Analogue Systems originally published in 2015. It was filmed during a visit of Andreas Schneider to Cornwall, where Analogue System's Bob Williams and Steve Gay reside and have built AS modules since the 1990s. After recently stumbling upon these videos again, we talked to Andreas and thought it would be nice to republish them and make them available on YouTube for the first time ever.
While Bob has since retired, Steve continues to craft modules with the same exceptional audio quality in South Cornwall. The video goes into the direct historical connection between Analogue Systems and EMS (of Synthi fame). Steve - who once worked for EMS and received exclusive license from EMS' Robin Wood to reproduce some of the VCS3 circuits - explains how this heritage has shaped the character of Analogue Systems and resulted in modules like the RS-510e Trapezoid Generator."
"In 2016 and 2017, while working on the debut album for my band Pin Park, I recorded a few hundred tracks. Around 200 survived the first cut, and that number was eventually trimmed down to 50. These recordings were literally rescued by Marcin Bociński from legatomastering.pl after I had forgotten about them for quite some time.
The setup I used was extremely limited: an EMS Synthi AKS (occasionally a VCS3), an EMS Vocoder 100, and three Boss pedals (looper, reverb, and distortion). Everything was recorded onto a low-quality Zoom device running through a substandard mixer. Each track was captured in a single take with no overdubs, which meant there was no real possibility for mixing. Marcin’s mastering work was nothing short of amazing, bringing these raw recordings to life.
In 2018, Apekwolf Records released 14 of these tracks. The remaining 36 were never made available—until now. Enjoy!"
"EMS Synthi AKS - been asked to demo it for a potential buyer and realise it’s been a while since I spent any meaningful time with one🫣.
So maybe less a demonstration, more a case of finding your way through an AKS.
Really doesn’t matter as sometimes it’s more fun with an element of mystery - to paraphrase Quincy Jones: leaving space for God to stumble into the sequence?🤓"
