"This is a set of patches that I’ve created while fixing Poly61s over the years. Some are similar to the factory patches, some are crazy, and some are very unique. These are all designed for either long ambient pads or interesting usage with the arpeggiator.

Load this file into a sound recorder or your computer.
– PLUG an audio cable into FROM TAPE
– TURN ON TAPE ENABLE
– TURN ON WRITE ENABLE
– PUSH BUTTON 2 and the screen should change to LOAD
– PLAYBACK the file using an audio cable into the POLY61
– The screen with say “Good” if loaded correctly after around 10 seconds
– TURN OFF TAPE ENABLE"

Moog The Source - Rebuilt

"1981 Moog Source arrived DOA with classic crazy source issues. After rebuilding the power supply, the issues remained, so it took some deeper testing to find that the wires in the board connectors were disintegrating. An entire cable ended up being replaced since the connectors kept falling apart with repair.

Once done the synth could be calibrated and tuned and bazck to new.

Not yet, since the keybed was filthy. It was rebuilt and cleaned and looks new. The wood was treated and cleaned and the metal received a bit of metal polish as well.

Everything is back to excellent health and I was working on backfocus with the Nipponscope so I decided to upload this short video."

"All sounds created on the Kawai SX-240 analog synthesizer.

This isn't greatest rendition of this song, but every part comes from the SX-240.

The sound is like if you crossed a Roland Juno and a Korg Polysix. The oscillators are fat with detuning, and even more so using split mode. Soundwise it is just the best DCO outside of a

The design is wonderful and the synth is small and really well built outside of the battery.

The display is the best part combined with a real keyboard input it has the best patch naming system ever invented.

The analog ensemble is also top notch. Better than the ensemble in the polysix and probably any effects unit in another DCO synth."

"Just installed Vlog-L and pointed it at the nearby Trident. Even at 5.6, with stacked diopters it makes the focus plane very very small.

Kiwi-3P - Roland JX3P - First test after calibration - 5K Ana

"First 35 seconds are dry recorded, internal chorus only.

Lots of stuff done to this JX3P. It was in ok shape when I got it, and here is everything that I've done to it since:

1. Installed Kiwitechnics Kiwi-3P CPU Upgrade
2. Installed the Chorus Speed Mod
3. Installed the new LED Resistors
4. Cut the midi link W5 and installed the cap on the Sens slider
5. Installed a new Rate Slider and cap
6. Cleaned all of the internal boards for the first time probably in its life
7. Fixed the Volume pot and resoldered it to the board
8. All of the silver caps were looking rough, so I polished all the caps to a smooth original shine
9. Calibrated the Power Supply
10. Calibrated VCF and Resonance for each voice
11. Calibrated DCO1 and DCO 2. Beating/phaze minimized at around 10 seconds."

"Just playing around with the Polysix. This is the full kiwi upgrade with new power supply. It also has the Tubbutec Polysex mod which is amazing.

If you've never used the actual synth, it sounds 10x different than the Korg Legacy version. Each voice taking awhile to come into tune and every voice just a little different from each other. You can get lost for days just getting creating sounds and arpeggiating them.

Internal arp with external midi arp and controlled with the fantastic kiwitechnics patch editor. A little Valhalla Vintage and Valhalla shimmer added as well"
