Moogseum Window Install Timelapse After Hurricane Helene
video upload by moogfoundation
"Seven weeks after Hurricane Helene ripped our awning frame and cloth awning off our our building, causing both to crash into our window which broke into several places, we were finally able to get the window replaced. During the interim, the Moogseum has been boarded up, and hasn't looked very inviting. We are thrilled to have made the first step to bringing the Moogseum's exterior back to its original condition, as seen in this time lapse. The awning will be replaced in the next month or two.
Please consider supporting the Moogseum as we continue to navigate the long-term effects of Helene, which have resulted in more than $35,000 in lost income to date, with more expected by the end of the year.

Muse is an intuitive and powerful instrument built on the rich history of Moog that simultaneously gazes boldly into the future. This studio or performance centerpiece is driven by eight analog voices, each with two VCOs, a modulation VCO, dual VCFs, and a stereo VCA — all with that recognizable, kinetic analog quality.

"What Would You Do With A Studio Full of Rare Synthesizers + State of the Art Recording Gear + Room and Board for Five Days?
The Residency at the ARPs for All Project program is a new collaboration between the Alan R. Pearlman Foundation’s ARPS for All program and The Record Co, a well-known and beautifully renovated music facility in Boston. The Record Co features incredible recording and performance spaces plus a wonderfully-curated collection of vintage ARP synthesizers, including the only publicly-available ARP 2500 in the USA.
The Alan R. Pearlman Foundation’s mission is to make ARP’s classic and groundbreaking synthesizers widely available in order to inspire future generations of musicians. This Residency is a natural expression of our goals. Through this program, the recipient will have the opportunity to not only take an important next step in their own career, but also to give something back to the music community.
Based on the submission form, the Foundation will select and support an artist in the creation of a special musical work incorporating the vintage ARP synthesizers at The Record Co. The end result could be a full album, a single song, a synth-backed video project, a series of synth tutorial videos, or another concept that inspires you to create.
HERE'S HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS!
The recipient will have access to The Record Co facilities and gear, the current ARPs for All Instrument collection, and 5 days of time. The space boasts an impressive collection of recording studios, production suites, sought-after equipment, and knowledgeable engineers to help amplify your creative process.

Hotel accommodations for the duration of the residency
Per diem for meals
Orientation at the studio
Educational materials from the ARP Foundation
Ongoing public recognition from The Record Co. and the Alan R. Pearlman Foundation
A fantastic creative experience with creative minds of every experience level
The recipient will be chosen by a committee of music industry leaders with notable achievements in the field of synthesis. Moog Grandmother sound design tutorial: Lisa Bella Donna Patch book 2: Mixer distortion
video upload by EthanJamesMusic
"This is a tutorial for the Moog Grandmother semi modular synthesizer, expanding on a patch created by @LisaBellaDonnaMusic using mixer distortion by running the output back into the noise input. The other main feature of this patch is using the modulation oscillator to create pulse width modulation. I explore some different variations for the patch and how to find different musical uses.. I hope you learn how to take someone else's patch and explore alternate uses from this video."

ANTONUS Custom 2600 + Little Brother Step Sequencer w/ Blue LEDs
Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this auction
"Absolutely mint condition. This has only been touched by Antonus, myself [Bluetech] and Lisa Bella Donna. Why settle for cheaply made mass market synths "inspired" by the 2600 when you can get quality handmade real deal monster machine? Already in the states, avoid months long wait and customs and import duties and heavy shipping costs.
Made with custom Blue LEDs for that extra special sparkle.
Antonus 2600
The reinterpretation of the mythic ARP 2600 analog synthesizer. We have faithfully reproduced all aspects of the original electronic design so as not to lose a nuance of the mythical sound that characterizes it. We love its sound and behavior so we don’t intend to “improve it”. Of course, we wanted to adapt it to the current standards of use for which we have opted for a more compact format, without losing any of the feeling and comfort of the original design in addition to adding MIDI connectivity.
Step Brother
A unique sequencer design, the perfect mate of our modular system. Based on the design of the ARP Sequencer 1601 but expanded. We have added a Clock Divider, an ADSR, a VCO / LFO and 2 VCAs, and of course, MIDI connection. A sequencer system fully oriented for live performance and for immediate improvisation. Of course made with the classic 2600 design rules."

Lisa Bella Donna's hidden sonic sanctuary
video upload by EarthQuakerDevices
"Join us as we take a detailed tour of Lisa Bella Donna's legendary home studio, Appalachian Recordings, deep in the Appalachian mountains of the eastern United States. Lisa is a longtime friend of Jamie Stillman’s since before the inception of EarthQuaker Devices in the early 90s, when they would play punk house shows together. Lisa is a renowned recording artist, composer, sound designer, modular synthesist and educator.
In this incredible episode of Show Us Your Junk, Lisa talks about her early inspirations that led her to start playing music, and eventually using electronic synthesis to craft the unique voice that she envisioned. After hearing Black Sabbath's “Paranoid” and Wendy Carlos's “Switched on Bach” and “Sonic Seasons,” it became clear that music was her destiny. Her stories include recording and editing commercial jingles in the 80s, selling her car to put a down payment on an Arp 2600 synthesizer, and discovering the rich characteristics of recording to 8-track tape.
While this studio packs in a ton of rare gear, Lisa claims she doesn’t consider herself a collector. “My choices are very utilitarian; pretty much everything in here is here for a purpose, and it’s part of the big picture - the great stream of what my albums become,” she says. Some of her staple instruments include the ARP 2600, ARP Odyssey, ARP Omni, Mini Moog, and Fender Rhodes. EQD pedals she frequently uses include the Rainbow Machine, Arpanoid, and Grand Orbiter, but her favorite EQD pedal is the Avalanche Run. She loves it so much that she had a custom rack mount version built, which is patched directly to her main console. “It's one of my favorite reverbs still - one of my most used for sure.”
Lisa has an interesting perspective when it comes to connecting music to visual concepts in nature and her environment. “When I compose music, I see it just as much as I hear it. I look at my arrangements as landscapes or deep woods mountain paths with all the textures and colors of the elements that surround it,” she says. This all makes sense when you see the picturesque plot of land in which she chose to settle down to build her studio and raise her daughter.

THE ARP ODYSSEY...
"The Odyssey was ARP's primary lead/solo synthesizer. It was designed for musicians who wanted more control than the preset-oriented Soloist could provide, but didn't want the large size and patch cables of the 2600. Over its 8-year lifespan, the Odyssey went through three versions. The changes between them were sonic, cosmetic, and functional – to the point where musicians of today often consider the Odyssey to have existed as three distinct instruments."
To learn more about the ARP Odyssey, please visit our Music Makers & Machines page on Google Arts & Culture. Story by Mike Metlay with editorial contributions from Rich Formidoni, Mary Lock, & Dina Pearlman.
