OXI One MK2 Update: New Sequencers Domino and Saga at Superbooth 2026

video upload by Insect O.

"At Superbooth I had to stop at the Oxi Instruments booth to say hello to Manu and his team and to check out the latest updates for the Oxi One sequencer. I got a closer look at the new sequencer modes Domino and Saga. The decoupling of trigger events from note events is a great idea.

The Oxi One has become the central sequencing hub in my studio. It allows me to combine CV and gate sequencing for modular synths with MIDI gear like the Prophet 6, Jomox Alphabase and the Access Virus A. A great surprise was discovering that someone from the Oxi community created a custom MIDI CC mapping for my very first synth — the Acces Virus A — which I bought more than 25 years ago."

First Steps with OXI One MKII / EP. 11 Modulation lanes

video upload by OXI Instruments

First Steps with OXI One series

"Learn how to bring your sequences to life with modulation on the OXI One MKII.
In this video, we cover the fundamentals of modulation and how to use modulation lanes to create movement, variation, and expression in your patterns. From assigning MIDI CC destinations to shaping evolving sequences with independent lengths, divisions, and offsets—this is your starting point to unlock a more dynamic workflow.
Using the OXI Coral as an example, you’ll see how powerful modulation can be when combined with proper instrument definitions, and how quickly you can turn a simple loop into something rich and evolving.
We also explore key features like:
– Drawing and editing modulation lanes
– Setting min/max ranges
– Using randomization and smoothing
– Decoupling modulation from the main sequence
– Live recording modulation in real time

This is the first step into a deeper modulation system—future videos will cover LFOs, internal destinations, and advanced routing."

video upload by OXI Instruments

First Steps with OXI One series

"Multitrack mode is one of the most powerful features of the OXI One.
In this video, I’ll show you how to sequence and control 8 tracks at the same time, build drum patterns, and use generators and randomization to create evolving rhythms.

First Steps with OXI One MKII / EP. 7: Pattern Workflow 01

video upload by OXI Instruments

First Steps with OXI One series

"In this episode we explore how to work with sequence pages, pattern length, looping, and editing tools in the OXI sequencer.

First, we look at pages. OXI One MKII organizes sequences into 8 pages of 16 steps, giving you up to 128 steps per pattern. You’ll learn how to navigate between pages, add full pages to a sequence, copy and paste entire pages, and extend your pattern length by adding pages.

Next, we focus on patterns. We cover how to set start and end points, manage longer patterns while keeping full control of your workflow, and use the smart behavior that preserves sequence length when moving loop points. We will also duplicate patterns, and create temporary loops to focus on specific sections of your sequence.

Finally, we explore additional workflow tools, including selecting and editing groups of steps, tie notes across pages, and use the Follow function to keep the view synced with the transport while playing longer patterns. We also look at the Preview function in Mono, Poly, Multitrack, and Chord modes to hear notes, root tones, and chord variations while composing.

The Oxi E16 is the best MIDI controller I've owned. It makes the OP-XY so much more jammable 🎛️👌🏻

video upload by DeeCee

"I've been dabbling with MIDI controllers recently (as you will have seen if you've watched my recent stuff). Nothing has really hit the mark, until now. It's been a right pain in the ass to set up (the Mac app doesn't want to let me use it to configure settings) and have had to manually enter them on the device itself. But it's actually pretty easy once you know how. The OP-XY and Artemis have presets available to upload to import to it so you just need to know what you're doing and you're off. I've wanted a small but robust controller for ages and decided to give this a go. It's not cheap but it's impeccably made. The linking of encoders is amazing. There's no way you could perform a filter sweep on 2+ tracks on the OP-XY. This makes it easy peasy. Love it. Hope you enjoy!

First Steps with OXI One MKII / EP. 6: Random Generator

video upload by OXI Instruments

First Steps with OXI One series

"In Episode 6 , we explore one of the most powerful creative tools inside the sequencer: Random Generator.
Random doesn’t mean chaos.

It means inspiration.

In this video, I’ll show you how to generate unexpected yet deeply musical patterns in MONO, POLY, and CHORD modes — and how to control every parameter so the results always stay intentional.

We’ll cover:
• How to access Random Generator
• Understanding Bias, Scale, Range, Rand, V&G, Ties, and Density
• Using Humanize, Order, Pitch, and Flip creatively
• Turning raw randomness into refined musical ideas
The goal is simple: give you a spark.

This is Episode 6 of First Steps with OXI One MKII series — a structured deep dive into mastering your sequencer from foundation to advanced workflow.
If you’re building a hardware-centered studio like I am, this one will unlock serious creative momentum.

First Steps with OXI One MKII / EP. 5: Poly Mode

video upload by OXI Instruments

First Steps with OXI One series

"In Episode 5 we explore Poly Mode, one of the most versatile sequencer modes on the OXI One MKII.
Poly Mode opens the door to rich harmonic writing, evolving patterns, and expressive multi-note sequencing. From simple intervals to dense chordal textures and complex permutations, this mode lets you go far beyond traditional step sequencing while staying immediate and musical.
In this tutorial, I walk through how Poly Mode works in practice — how to add and edit multiple notes per step, shape harmonies, and use Poly creatively in real musical contexts. You’ll also see how it compares to Mono and Chord modes, and when each approach makes the most sense in a workflow.
Whether you want subtle harmonic movement or bold, layered sequences, Poly Mode gives you the freedom to design patterns that grow with your ideas."

Exploring OXI ONE: Lazy Ambient Jam w. Moog Messenger, Vermona Perfourmer, Prophet 12 & Eventide

video upload by copenhagennoiselab

"'Sunday Excursion' is a relaxed ambient jam built entirely around two sequences from the OXI ONE.
No composition. No arrangement. Just hands-on exploration and letting the hardware talk.

🔁 SEQUENCING

The OXI ONE runs two independent sequences:

Sequence 1 – Rhythm / Pulse
– Matriceal mode for controlled randomness
– Drives a Moog Messenger mono synth
– Acts as the rhythmic backbone of the piece

Signal chain:
Moog Messenger → Klark Teknik KT76 → Korg DL8000R → TC Electronic Fireworx

Sequence 2 – Melody / Texture
– Linear mono mode with probability-based notes
– Drives a Vermona Perfourmer in round-robin poly mode
– Each voice slightly different for subtle movement and width

FX:
Vermona Perfourmer → Eventide Eclipse

🎹 LIVE PLAYING

On top of the sequences, chords and textures are played live on a Dave Smith Instruments Prophet 12.
The patch is a slow, restrained pad with a simple overtone structure.

FX:
Prophet 12 → Eventide H9 (Blackhole)

This is not a 'track.'
It’s a documented session exploring how the OXI ONE interacts with a few quirky synths and late-90s / early-2000s rack FX.

If you’re into hardware sequencing, probability, and letting small variations do the work, you’ll probably find something useful here."
