Two all-analog FRFR systems combine full-range amplification, integrated four-channel mixing, professional connectivity, and expandable stereo operation for synthesizers, keyboards, drum machines, and modern performance rigs

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (October 27, 2026) – Moog Music® today announced Model 112 and Model 210, two full-range, flat-response (FRFR) instrument amplifiers purpose-built for synthesizers, keyboards, drum machines, and modern electronic performance rigs.

Model 112 combines a portable 12-inch format with 440W RMS bi-amplified power for studios, rehearsals, personal monitoring, and live performance. Model 210 steps up to a 550W RMS, 2.5-way design with dual 10-inch woofer and deeper low frequency extension for larger stages and more demanding performance rigs.

Both models deliver an all-analog amplification path, 4 stereo inputs and an integrated four-channel stereo mixer, balanced PA connectivity, Bluetooth® streaming, headphone monitoring, and Stereo Link for building a two-amplifier stereo system. "History, passion, provenance and love. That's the AJH Synth Radiophonic in four words.

This isn't a performance video and it isn't a patch demo - it's the story of what's actually inside this thing, where every circuit came from, and why a cabinet of 48 modules ends up feeling like one complete instrument rather than a collection of parts.

The Radiophonic was commissioned by Hans Zimmer as the centrepiece for the resurrected BBC Radiophonic Workshop, and the lineage runs a lot deeper than the wooden case and the vintage lettering. The oscillators are built around the first-version Minimoog transistor core - the ones everybody says sound the sweetest - with the thermal drift finally sorted, and Alan went back to Jim Scott, one of the original version one designers, to get them right. The filters take in the Moog transistor ladder, the diode ladder that Gene Zumchak designed for the Musonics Sonic V to sidestep Moog's patents, a dual *SEM*, and the 914 fixed filter bank from the big Moog modular systems. The ring modulator is discrete transistor EMS Synthi circuitry sitting on top of a Moog CP3 style mixer. And none of it is a straight copy - there's a wave folder here, resonance compensation there, extra CV inputs everywhere.

So: seven transistor core VCOs, two transistor ladder filters, two diode ladder filters with wave shaping, a double SEM, the 914, the Ring SM, three noise sources, a 12-stage phaser, wave shaping, Tone Science collaborations with Ian Boddy, and more envelopes, LFOs and random voltage than you'll know what to do with.

A whistle-stop tour, and still an hour's worth of talking squeezed into twenty minutes. Stay to the end for the full track - everything you hear came out of this one instrument, with drums from the AJH Bullfrog."

The Musichello was the father of the LepLoop. Hand-built inside an old wooden wine box with recycled electronic parts, by Giovanni around 2001, it set everything in motion. We met around 2005\2006 and began developing the LepLoop prototype together, eventually launching the first official version in 2009.

Here, you can listen to a rare archival live performance recording by Giovanni (aka Peppo Lasagna) from around 2007, showcasing the raw, unpolished sonic character of the original Musichello.

Alongside this ~30-minute live improvisation session is a collection of archival photos of both the Musichello and LepLoop, highlighting the early experimental design, circuitry, and hands-on workflow that laid the foundation for the instruments we build today.

Designed in collaboration with John Snyder of Electronic Audio Experiments (EAE), the Chase Bliss Big Time is a true-stereo hybrid echo that revisits the mixed-up, unique circuitry found in rackmount delays from the early 1980s. In that era, advanced analog engineering was functionally used to prop up crude digital systems. The Big Time intentionally embraces and pushes this hybrid architecture to its absolute extremes.

This video showcases how the Big Time's interactive controls and dual stages of analog coloration transform incoming synthesizer signals:

• Stereo Analog Preamp (Color): Adds beautiful, warm saturation to the input stage, designed to handle a wide variety of instruments.
• Feedback Loop Limiter (State): An analog clipping limiter in the delay path that creates everything from smooth compression to crumbling, misbiased overdrive that slowly disintegrates your echoes.

Don Buchla’s electronic instruments can be understood as musical tools and as environments for exploration. They allow performers to play in a physical and expressive way, yet they also invite a method of working that resembles research into the behavior of voltage and timbre.
Buchla did not follow the conventions of keyboard based instruments. Instead he created systems in which sound could be shaped through touch sensitive controls, complex modulation, and freely arranged signal paths. As a result, each patch becomes both a performance setup and a place to investigate how tones, noise sources, control voltages and modulation can interact within an electronic space.

This sample pack carries that spirit forward through recordings made with the Buchla Music Easel Modern. It offers a survey of sonic behavior, inviting listeners to study the subtle warmth that emerges when complex oscillators interact. The HEAD BANGER (a collaboration between SetonixSynth and Robots Are Red) gives the modular-based metalhead total control over a wide range of tone parameters: a three-band EQ with 20dB of boost/cut per band, Distortion amount, plus bass boost (Doom) and soft limiting (Crush) switches. "The 1966 Johnson Intonation Trainer is a rare and intriguing instrument developed by the E.F. Johnson Company of Waseca, Minnesota. Originally designed to assess pitch-matching and pitch-discrimination abilities, this device has garnered attention for its unique features and potential applications in modern music production.  

One of the standout characteristics of the Johnson Intonation Trainer is its full polyphony, allowing all 37 keys to be played simultaneously. Each key is associated with its own oscillator, enabling microtonal adjustments and the exploration of unconventional scales and tunings. The instrument offers four distinct voicing options, ranging from basic sine waves to more complex, reedy tones. Additionally, the “Scale Selector” switch provides a choice between standard tempered tuning and a tunable mode, with individual “Tunable Scale Controls” corresponding to each note on the keyboard for precise pitch calibration.
