straker on monome and audiocubes
straker on monome and audiocubes from cassiel on Vimeo.
"A pot-pourri of performance technologies. The sample manipulation is courtesy of the shard plugin, which is being controlled by the monome and the audiocubes using the straker sequencing framework, which itself is built on top of the shado rendering library for the monome."
Buchla Source of Uncertainty 266 DIY

"A few years ago I realized that it would be possible to build my own Buchla 266 Source of Uncertainty. I took the schematics that were online and laid each one page out on a separate press n peel pcb layout. When I started putting it together, I exchanged a few emails with Scott Stites who pointed out some useful mods, which I will include here.
Today I will start things off by posting the first board layout and some sound samples that were created with it. I will post the remaining boards and samples to go with them as time permits. The original layouts have a few errors, so I'm going through each one to correct them before sharing with the public.
So, here goes: the first board, which is based off this schematic"

PING:II

"PING:II 拼图
by Dr Gooi Tah Choe and Darren Ng (a.k.a. sonicbrat)
Photography stops time. Music extends it. Can these two interpretations of time be one? Inter-woven by an oxymoron, PING:II explores this “limbo” in time/space through a jigsaw of two contradicting, yet related mediums. Musicians Darren Ng and Gooi Tah Choe present a discussion with audio-visual works of a joined creative process that crosses sight and sound.
This is the live recording of the performance... live sound improvisation by sonicbrat
Project site: sonicbrat.wordpress.com/projects/ping/
Instruments and Equipment:
Doepfer A100 modular system
Sherman Filterbank II
Moogerfooger MF105 filter
Laptop Synthesis, Live Sampling and Processing (max/msp + Plogue Bidule + Reaktor 5 + field recording playback)
Alesis Ineko
Electric Guitar + Boss RC20 looper + bow + ebow
Most of the synthesis is the A100 with no sequencers, just patching and filtering... with minimalist synthesis from max/msp, reaktor 5 and plogue bidule. Most of the filterings are done with Sherman Filterbank II and Moogerfooger MF105. This audio improvisation was performed live to visual feeds of photography by Dr Gooi Tah Choe."
