A6 Creamier sound by CoolColJ
"I have found the Andromeda's oscillators have a tendency to lock to each other and phase cancel. A byproduct of the too accurate auto tuning perhaps, which tunes every octave on the board. So even when you detune then oscillators they still don't sound quite right.
Contrast that with old analog synths which usually have a single scaling trim pot for the whole keyboard range. And they are never tight because of that, the top and bottom of the keyboard is always out a bit, but they sound better for it.
Here is a way to get that creamier sound out of the A6 - knock the scaling out by modulating oscillator pitch with key number!
+0.02, with an offset of -0.01 does the trick
as heard here :)
Soundcloud's processing did some weird crap to the audio :/"
Update: an another tip via Steve on the A6 list:
"Another good, standard trick is to go to View Oscillator, select nzext, select red noise, and then set it to about .36 on LinFM, PWM or one of the other choices there. This uses slight randomization to modulate the oscillator and adds a little more "natural imperfection" into the sound. It'll warm up almost any patch, and gets rid of what my brain translates into, for some reason, the "straw"-like quality of the A6's sound (straw as in hay)."

Technics WSA1 Analog & Digital Out
Technics WSA1 Analog Out by CoolColJ
"Sound of Technics WSA1 using it's analog outs
Guitar driver through a random resonator, and a sawtooth through a cone resonator (trumpet etc)
Analog out, sounds a touch warmer, and has a bit more lower mid thickness. But not quite as precise, the stereo image not as rock solid."

"Patch taken from VCA Matrix manual, running 3 VCOs into inputs B,C, and D (Malekko Wiard Oscillator, Anti-Osc, and Tiptop Z3000). Output 4 is the audio output. Input A is a stepped-wave sequence created by an SCM running into a Short Bus. Envelopes come from PEGs that are clocked by the same clock as the SCM."

Synthesizing a Kick Drum with Surge VSTi

"Synthesizing a kick drum with Surge VSTi, using the FM2 module. The principles are applicable to any decent synthesizer.
The Kick is basically a sine wave pith through a short, steep pitch envelope. Some frequency modulation (FM) is added to emphasise the attack. An LFO is applied to pitch to give a little wobble.
Using these parameters it's possible to get a wide variety of tight, punchy electronic kicks. Why waste time browsing samples? Make your own!
Sampled using FL Studio's Edison and dropped into Nerve."
