"Classic 2-channel cv/gate sequencer with built in analog monophonic synthesizer
Sharing near identical synthesizer features as the matching SH-101 it can be made to sound very similar so phat analog synth sounds abound and it is way more versatile than the much compared TB303 as a groove instrument and a great synthesizer in its own right.

The MC202 features SH-101 like slider controls for VCO with simultaneous sawtooth and square/pulse waveforms with sub and sub-sub oscillator for bass tones that have no right to sound as deep and phat as this from such a small box! Fully resonant and classic Roland analog filter, VCA, LFO, ADSR & Gate Envelope and Mixer Sections. All this is a neat, compact and lightweight package that can run on batteries if ultra portability is your thing.

The built in micro-composer style sequencer with LCD display is actually a dual channel CV/Gate step/real time sequencer and song composer so can drive other cv/gate gear simultaneously and shares many of the complex song writing and editing functions of the infamous and now much more rare and expensive MC4 micro-composer. This machine pre-dates MIDI but has plenty of analog sockets for hooking up to your other synths or cv modules, DIN/Tape-Sync for synchronization and can load & save memory to tape (or use your sampler or digital multitrack) so you never have to lose your favourite sequences."
