The Danish singer Danielle Deneuve (actually her name is Dorthe Kristensen but I guess she wanted to sound more "international") had a hit in 1984 with this song. The original is also here one YT so you can judge by yourself.
I play it on Yamaha PSR-78 and Roland E-15 keyboards. I have used the little Wersi M.A.X.1 synthesizer for the rhythm and some of the instruments all controlled by a MIDI file. This MIDI file also controls the JX-8P bass sound and finally the Yamaha and Technics organs are used for the chords."
"Our seventh winner of the Modular Pic of the Week contest goes to Roger Grønberg for his 'Guro Sandvik.' Roger runs the studio & production company Frodebeats, from Oslo, Norway. "At frodebeats production headquarters we like spending all day doing sound design with modular synths."
We'd like to give a big thanks and congratulations to Roger Grønberg for his submission! This is the 7th week of a 30-week contest, and we are looking forward to many more modular photo submissions, so please keep 'em coming! For details on how to submit and what you can win, see this post.
"adapted the stepSeq_4 module from the JazzMutant team to create a multi value step sequencer that triggers a granular combinator patch in Reason 6. This is definitely a way to obtain more musical results from the Lemur - Reason combination, but it lacks transport synchronization.
The granular patch is a derivation of one posted years ago on the propellerhead website."
"This was built from a MIDIBox board kit and contains two SID chips from the Commodore 64. The SIDStation is very similar, only two to three times more expensive. SID Chips are becoming increasingly rare, and the kits from which this SammichSID was assembled are to be discontinued in January, so you can expect the SammichSID to become more valuable in the future. Comes with its power adapter."
"The Boehm (Dr. Böhm) Solist-S is a German analog rhythm box / accompaniment from 1973. It was designed for electronic organs. It has a great analog sound!"
