Program for MoogerFooger Synth, Taurus 3 and Theremin
YouTube Published on Jun 5, 2012 by Rhythmicons
"The CP 251's LFO is the heart of the time driven events in this program. It is driving the rate of the Sequencer, the sample and hold that is sent to the MF-101 filter, and is being lag processed and controlling the pitch of the Mf-107 Freqbox. Noise from the CP is also being processed by the 103 Phaser.
The q119 is modulating the pitch of the Mf-102, creating a melody, that is fed to the Synthesizers.com VCA, to the 104z Delay and to the board. The q119 is also firing gates to the envgen which is controlling the vca.
The Voyager is taking a nap in this piece, but is midi controlling the Taurus Pedals. The touch surface is activating the sequencer.
The Theremin was obviously a lacking overdub, but I was in a hurry to finish this program so I could rip the cords out and start over.
Cp251: Lfo squarewave multiplied: 1. Lagged, sent to Freqbox Freq In. 2. Sent to q119 to control rate. 3. Sample and Hold to MF-101 Cutoff Frequency
Noise source sent to phaser, Phaser output to board.
Q119, 1x24 stage sequence modulating the freq input of the mf102. Gate output to Envgen.
MF102: Audio to VCA then to delay then to board.
Voyager: Midi controlling Taurus 3, Touchscreen"

"Hybrid Control
Liine and Livid have teamed up to create truly unique Ableton Live control experience. Griid and Code can now be linked as a single controller via free scripts. This hybrid control concept is an innovative combination of multitouch and hardware.
Liine have often stated that the ultimate control setup involves both hardware and multitouch. They have put this approach into practice when building custom solutions for artists such as Orbital, Plastikman or Avril Lavigne's keyboardist Steve Ferlazzo. And now, if you are a Griid and Livid Code owner, you can experience the power of hybrid control yourself.
The latest Griid update, available in the iTunes App Store, enables a special sync mode with Code. Use Griid to navigate Session View and launch clips. Tap a header in Griid to select a track in Code. Grab knobs in Code to control mixer and effects. Four different Code control modes are available: Mixer, EQ, and two for Devices. Whether you're working in studio or live on stage, Code and Griid are always in sync."

MMTA SUMMER SYNTHFEST 2012 Pics by MATRIXSYNTH

And my set of pics. :) This wraps up MATRIXSYNTH's direct coverage of the event. If you have pics, video or audio, please feel free to send it in. See the MMTA SYNTHFEST 2012 label for all posts on the event including a couple of video walk-throughs. There's a lot to see in this set but don't miss the slick plexi-glass modular cases by James Husted of Synthwerks, the Din Sync Dr. Protomonger, the new Mattson SQ16 Sequencer which will be available in Euro by Division 6, and of course the massive MATRIXSYNTH Banner! Now that's synth bling. You can find the full list of exhibitors in this post.

PS, on some browsers, Flickr embedding will sometimes cause your mouse to wig out and disappear. If this happens, move your invisible mouse to the edge of the screen and hit the esc key. It should come back. You can then click on the top of the browser and refresh the page to get things back to normal. It's annoying but the slideshow is worth it imo. You might want to view this one full screen. If you want to skip it and go straight to Flickr though, here's a link.

"This right here is the inventor of the keytar. And I'm holding the first ever keytar invented." Read about the Syntar on Carbon111's site here, and of course check out the Syntar label below.
Shannon is the Executive Director of Pacific Northwest Chapter of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences aka NARAS.
I have a couple of good shots of George and Shannon coming up in the next post. Remember you can track all of he event's posts via the MMTA SYNTHFEST 2012 label.

MMTA SUMMER SYNTHFEST 2012 - Mr. AcidMachine
YouTube Uploaded by matrixsynth on Jun 4, 2012
Prototype Dr.DrumSet drum machine by Mr.AcidMachine. It's based on the Roland TR-808 and TR-606. It sounds really nice. One cool featured that he showed me later and unfortunately I did not capture on video was the ability to tunes the metal oscillators for the cymbal, hihats, and cowbell at the same time with just one knob. You can get some really cool effects going while the rhythm is playing. Note the distorted synth sounds at :37 are coming from Vidgod which I pan to for a sec.
Update: above I initially stated that you could tune all sounds with one knob. That was my mistake. The knob tunes the metal oscillators for the cymbal, hihats, and cowbell at the same time. It makes for a really cool effect.

MMTA SUMMER SYNTHFEST 2012 - Hans Lindaur - The Missing Link
YouTube Uploaded by matrixsynth on Jun 4, 2012
This is a follow-up to my twelve minute walkthrough, but only two minutes, and it starts with Hans Lindaur of wifimidi.com/ (aka Jabrudian Industries LLC), makers of The Missing Link wireless OSC to MIDI device. You can find more info on the device at wifimidi. In short you can connect your iOS device to it wirelessly and use it to transmit OSC or OSC to MIDI messages to your external gear. Many of my iPad editors for TouchOSC are mapped to The Missing Link for wireless control. You'll find other templates on their site.
In the video you'll also see the rare Technosaurus Effexon effects unit, Microcon synth, and two Cyclodon sequencers. To the right you will see a custom break-0ut box Hans built for the units. The video moves on to Larry Kleinke aka Computer Controlled's table and back around to Vidgod aka Gary Bauder and the Cosmic Tumblers.
