"This can be a stand alone synth noise machine or can be used with an analog sequencer for extra rhythmic capability. It has vco1 controlled by optical theremin or potentiometer/knob.the optical bulb is fiber optic and is hard as stone its basically a solid clear stone. so it will not brake. lfo 1 and lfo 2. and 5 octave mod. it has a 3rd oscillator that controls the tempo of the light modulator. cv inputs on vco lfo1 lfo2 ground output 1/4 inch audio output. runs on 9-12v dc neg tip power supply cv and ground jacks are banana jacks."
"All the electronics pots switches jacks leds and so on are new.has 8 steps each one produces a plus voltage pulse patched out via banana jacks has tempo and reset patch via banana jack runs on 9v-12v dc neg tip power supply.no cables or power supply is included. it will include one small attenuator box. This is good for adding to a modular moonstien device or for use with circuit bent instruments. analog synths."
The strings on this piece are the Pi Synth. You can see them come in and out in the waveform player.
"I'm very late with the sampling demo of PIANA that I promised well over a week ago, so to keep you entertained - mainly to stop you all getting sick of waiting - I loaded up my freshly-programmed string section, tried to learn 4 chords and play them reliably, dug out my old remixed stems of Space Oddity, and replaced the Wakemantron with some appallingly ham-fisted 3 finger chords. Occasionally 4 fingers as I dropped another F on top for the heck of it.
Demo with talking and explaining to follow soon, but in the meantime just ignore the poor playing and think about the fact that this sample-based synth is running on £35 worth of kit. Cool, eh?
"Recently I finished two builds: an LFO designed by me, and the amazing Buchla 292c "Low-Pass Gate" with PCB by Thomas White (panel by Clarke). Both devices feature vactrol inputs for CV control, which makes for some truly magical sounds; I definitely feel like I'm controlling unknown forces of nature when playing on these things."
"SoundMachine is a 4 track 8-step drum sequencer that uses the LEGO Mindstorms NXT to scan a set of drum "notes" which are then played using Ableton Live. The NXT uses four colour sensors to detect the colour of 2x2 LEGO bricks as the plate is scanned in. A controller written in Processing interprets the colour pattern and sequences MIDI note messages to send to Ableton Live, which in turn plays the sounds you hear.
The music on the video was created by SoundMachine itself - music you can build!"

More video of SoundMachine in operation, this time showing how the plate is scanned and converted into notes in the GUI, which in turn sends MIDI commands to Ableton Live to play the music
