Synthrotek Sequence 8 vs WMD PDO

Published on May 11, 2014 noisythang·32 videos

"Simple setup, PDO into delay, no filters. Sequence 8 is clocked externally, controls PDO modulation via TBVCA. Just a little late night fun. Quantized pitch from Turing sequencer."

"A series of programmed MIDI chords is running through the Analogue Systems rs370 PHG in Polyphonic MIDI mode. Oscillator Waveform is set to 'Synthesized' as we experiment with ORAGNoid, ORAGNoid2, and Hollow Waves 2 morph tables via CTRL1."

Pyramid of Numbers = Modular+Reaktor+Leap+EPSi+Big Sky

"Starting with a beautiful sound from the Braids and Morphing Terrarium. Sampled with the Phonogene and processed through the Echophon/ZDSP/Big Sky/EPSi. The Piano is Reaktor and a water sample played together. The beginning atmosphere is KORE2 animated circuits. The Leap is controlling all the modulation in Reaktor, Big Sky and KORE2."

"Telemark is a rack mount version of the Semblance mononsynth with the addition of signal patch points. Will run from MIDI or sequence it the analogue way - use our Oberkorn, ideal partnership! Rack mount brackets are optional and not included.

The patch points are 3.5mm with 5v range, one volt per octave. Currently at the Noisebug studio we are running the Telemark with an Analogue Solutions Oberkorn3 sequencer. It’s quite fun and getting synthesizer action is instant and patching isn’t required.

The Telemark is robust in frequency. There is a good amount of clarity including while filtering. On the bottom end, the bass breaks up nicely at the right time. The bass frequency doesn’t resonate in the lofty or boomy territory but very acceptable for most recording environments and noticeably better than the typical modular VCO. The Telemark has a pleasing tone all of its own but would sound closest to the old Oberheim sound. The design is logically laid out and we adapted to it very quickly.

Features
• Pure analogue voice & modulation circuitry.
• Sub-Oscillator / Divider
• Ring Modulation
• Patch points to allow more sound types, and to cross-patch with your modular synths
• SEM type sound.
• Similar SEM layout.
• More features than the original SEM such as Sample and Hold, LFO Square wave, Noise, extra inputs, many more signal modulation options via rotary switches.
• Plenty of modulation possibilities
• Rugged steel construction.

E102 Quad Temporal Shifter - ASR Quick Test #3

Published on May 11, 2014 John L Rice·266 videos

"I didn't have much time today to play with concept and make it sound really cool and build more of a 'tune/composition' out of it but I hope you get the idea that the multiple delayed ASR outputs are very useful for more things than controlling the pitch of multiple oscillators!"
