"This is the latest version of the Biscuit which also includes the new "DER OTO" operating system allowing you to transform the Biscuit into a Step Sequencer and Analog style Monosynth at the touch a button - VFM! Formidable!

Add depth, texture and organic behavior to synths, basslines, drum machines and virtual instruments from computers with BISCUIT !

Using true 8-bit converters, digital processing and analog resonant filters, Biscuit opens up a wide range of sounds from harsh distortion, digital and aliasing artifacts to warm and fat 8-bit sounds.
Mute or invert each of the 8 bits of the digital signal by pressing one of the 8 rectangular switches, to generate strong distortions with an intense digital character. Lower the sample frequency down to 250 Hz for aliasing effects and use the multimode analog filter to get a warm and fat sound. You can mix this 8-bit sound with
the direct signal via two separate knobs.

EFFECTS:

Add one of the following 8-bit effects to your bit modifications :

• Waveshaper
• Delay
• Pitchshifter
• Step Filter

Each effect contains one or several parameters to set.

PRESETS:

Save all the BISCUIT functions (bit status, knobs positions, effects and filter settings) to one of its 16 presets.
You can also save as many presets as you like on your computer using the Preset Dump function (MIDI SysEx).

MIDI:

BISCUIT is MIDI compatible.
Every pot, switch and effects setting can be sent or can be controlled by a continuous controller message (known as CC).
BISCUIT accepts MIDI Clock messages to synchronize Delay and Step filter effects.
BISCUIT firmware can be upgraded via a MIDI SysEx file."

Inaugural Patch

"The first full patch in the new studio. Its all running together with the same clock triggering everything: Polyfusion AS-1 Sequencer, ARP 2500, Serge Modular and EMS stuff (OK I played that by hand). Thanks to Phil Jones for capturing it on his nice camera... See http://myblogitsfullofstars.blogspot.... for more"

"A simple pattern of clean drums, sequenced via midi, which builds over the duration of the track and gradually warps into increasingly bizzare glitching.

"If you like making techno or dark synth stuff this is the module for you. It makes beautiful clangy analog sounds and never gets old. Its a very music box and can even sound like a normal analog synth on its clean square wave setting. It comes with one drum pad but I usually just trigger it from the trigger outs of a drum machine, it can trigger with audio outs as well. This thing sounds absolutely insane, Ive always dreamed of having 4 of these chained up but Im not aphex twin so I must sell this little guy. I have another one that Ive modded for separate cv control over both channels but its not as clean as this one is on the inside. None of the sliders are scratchy and all is working 100% as it should..."

horstronic. Waveslicer Demo

Published on Aug 26, 2015 PianoHorst

"This is a quick demo of the basic functions of my new module, the Waveslicer."

via Muff's

"The Waveslicer can be described as some kind of special waveshaper.
It can cut a wave into slices and move those slices up and down.
It simply does that by adding an offset at a defined point of the wave. This point is the threshold, set by the Pulsewave pot. The amplitude of the offset is set by the Amount pot.
So for example if you have a sinewave of 10Vpp (-5V to +5V) and set a threshold of 2.5V and an amount of 1V, it will add an offset of -1V as long as the wave is above 2.5V.
To make it all symmetric, all that is also happening on the negative half of the wave, which means that in this example you will also have an offset of 1V as long as the wave is below -2.5V.

To make it all a bit more interesting, this is all done twice at the same time, so there are actually two waveslicers working in parralel.
Also, every described parameter is fully voltage controllable with an attentuverter at every CV input.

All that is pretty hard to describe in theory, so I made up a little diagram to explain the functions of the module.
I will also add some videos in the next days which will make it even more clear.

I primarily designed this module as an audio waveshaper but it's DC coupled, so you can also use it for CVs. This can be a lot of fun, for example when mangling LFOs.

I have a working prototype which still needs some finetuning but I think I'm almost there.

Shane of X1L3 was so kind to make a panel for me. The final panel will probably look pretty much the same as in the first picture (thus aluminium colored with black text), but I think this looks nice, too!
If there is enough interest, maybe I can also offer a black panel.

This thread is under construction and I will work on it over the next days and weeks, especially add audio/video demos and stuff like that, but I thought it might be nice to involve you a bit by posting the information I have. So please feel free to tell me what you think about this/ ask questions if there are any confusions (I'm pretty sure there will be confusion, as I don't feel too confident about explaining this module)."
