January '16 Jam - Nord Moog Prophet Minibrute

"A little improvised jam all played in live. The mini brute it going through a few effects in logic, the moog is going through an MXR carbon copy, and the prophet has a bit of valhalla reverb on it. For some reason the prophet was internally clipping, which I couldn't stop no matter what i tried.

Synth Jam- Roland System 1m - Moog Werkstatt - Beatstep Pro - Microbrute - Mopho - EMX1

"Continuing my Synth Jam Journal, here's today's entry. The thing I tried to do here was incorporate the System 1m patch points with the Moog Werkstatt (Mother 32 coming on Tuesday!!!).

Here are the connections: Beatstep Pro CV Pitch out to Werkstatt VCO EXP FM IN. I don't have any gate being sent to the Werkstatt because the Werkstatt VCA mode is set to ON so it drones. The System 1m is sending CV out of the ENV to the Werkstatt VCF IN so that every time I play a note, the filter on the Werkstatt is affected. The Werkstatt LFO is set to square mode and is modulating the VCF internally, so the additional VFC modulation gives more movement. Finally, the LFO OUT of the Werkstatt is going back in to the System 1m Filter LFO so the System 1m and Werkstatt filters are both being modulated by the Werkstatt square wave LFO.

The Mopho is playing simple bass notes also from the Beatstep pro via MIDI on the same channel as the Werkstatt so that bass line is doubled.

And of course, the Microbrute and Werkstatt are running through the Roland RE-301 Space Chorus. There's a bit of Valhalla Ubermod and Shimmer on the whole mix to just give it more life."
