ARP Blue Marvin restoration demonstration - operational tips from CMS

Published on Oct 14, 2018 Phil Cirocco

"This is a short demo video showing some operational tips and nominal volume levels on the ARP 2600. The unit shown is one of the very first 2600s ever made. We recently repaired and restored this beauty to full functionality for a customer. The sound is coming from the 2600 speakers and being recorded by the phone mic. This unit had a partial APU installed since it already had great sounding chips."

REPLICA is an experimental platform where expressive movement rooted in dance & theatre meets augmented embodiment and creative technologies. Together with performers, scientists and technologist we engage in a playful exploration of possibilities: in what ways can technology enhance our bodies by challenging, training and expanding our expressive, perceptive and creative capabilities? In what ways does it enhance our culture? Together, we imagine and rehearse future rituals, devise new interaction models between humans and machines, and prototype tools, performances and future folklores.

20.11. Düsseldorf Die Digitale

Preparing for my live shows I always try to the make the most upbeat music possible. Usually it ends up much darker once I get on stage, as I find making "happy" music hard when improvising. But still, its good to push myself to different places.

μClouds granular module - dry sound examples (Eurorack Mutable Clouds in 8HP)

Published on Oct 14, 2018 DreamsOfWires

"μClouds is granular audio processor/texture synthesizer, and an 8hp version of the Mutable Instruments 'Clouds' Eurorack module. With the Parasite firmware installed it has additional functions (do an internet search to find the latest details).
No additional effects were used, what you hear is just μClouds and the sound source I'm feeding it - homemade samples via a Music Thing Modular 'Radio Music', and my trusty old Korg Volca Keys.
This is a simple video demo of some sounds I discovered during my first proper experience with the module, not a qualified overview. I've had it for quite a while, but not had time to look at it properly, and it's clear I've got a lot to learn yet. However, just from dabbling you can achieve some surprising results.
I can't remember for certain which modes I used, but the last patch/sound is definitely the Spectral Madness mode. Also, when you see a solid green light it indicates that the 'freeze' function is active, and so a slice of the sound has been grabbed and being used as a wash/drone. The reverb you can hear is from the module and a component of each mode.
