Akai Force vs Ableton Push 2: Which is better for you?

Published on Jan 31, 2019 loopop

"While at Winter NAMM 2019, Akai agreed to a "no question off the table" interview about their new Force standalone clip launcher/groovebox/sampler.

Alongside this interview I compare Force's features to Ableton Push (and occasionally Maschine MK3).

Here's a link to the video I made comparing Push 2 to Maschine MK3: [posted here]

The comparison is between Force and what Push 2 can do as a controller, not the entirety of Ableton Live as a DAW, which is of course substantially more comprehensive.

Frap Tools Falistri - complex oscillator "first patch"

Published on Jan 31, 2019 DivKidVideo

"So here's my first patch with the Falistri from Frap Tools. It's always nice to share my literal first patch and experience with modules before doing more in-depth demos and explanations. This first patch is using both function generators in looping mode, at audio rates, to create a dual oscillator and complex oscillator series of sounds. The Ring Mod and VCA section below takes normalled versions of the oscillator outputs and I have FM patched between both oscillators (function generators as oscillators) for some cross mod / x mod."

Lifeforms Primary Oscillator-Pittsburgh Modular Synthesis Demo

Published on Jan 31, 2019 Dziam Bass

"Hello Frinds.
I have another small movie showing Primary Oscillator-Pittsburgh Modular Synthesis. I used here with the sequencer one free sequence with the addition of Black Hole DSP-Erica Synths reverb to emphasize the beautiful melody and the second sequence faster with the addition of the Black Dual VCF -Erica Synths filter and a little addition of resonance.
This oscillator works well in many situations, for solid bass, for charmonics bass, lead, for beautiful highs tones of melody or ambient and textures, timbre change gives a wide spectrum of synthesis in combination with fragments or Blade function gives completely good results, sometimes behaving as chorus which affects very nicely for sound"
