Vintage Roland TR-707 With TB-3 Bassline Synth
Published on Jul 7, 2019 Perfect Circuit
"Today is 7/07 so we thought we would upload this video of the Roland TR-707 drum machine. This 12 bit sample based machine came out in 1985 and has the famous XOX style drum sequencer where you can quickly program patterns. We used a Roland Aira TB-3 for the bassline to go along with the 707 drums in this video.
The TR-707 provided drums for many classic Acid House tracks and has a great sounding hi-hat and distinctive cowbell. Read our article about the 707 here: https://www.perfectcircuit.com/signal..."

Yamaha Portasound PSS-190 keyboard demo - "Whistleblower"
Published on Jul 7, 2019 Alfonse
"Yamaha Portasound PSS-190 keyboard (1990)
All sounds you hear in the track were made using the PSS-190 and recorded to a DAW, where compression, EQ, reverb, delay and chorus were added as required. The "Disco" drum rhythm was used, heavily compressed.
The aim of these videos is to see what you can create using sounds from ageing home keyboards together with current production tools. The PSS190 is a "high-performance electronic keyboard" according to the manual, and certainly packs a lot of sounds into a small package. Many of the voices sound like PCM samples of the FM sounds on the PSS-680/780/480/580 keyboard range, but there are also layered and split voices to play with.
Thanks to Ed Bettella for the loan of this little beast, plucked from obscurity in a loft somewhere...

VCV Rack & Eurorack - They can't hold Us
Published on Jul 7, 2019
"This one is nice and dirty... It's also the first recording with the new Freak filter, which sounds beautiful and adds lots and lots of character to the sound.

Here are some patch notes:
-------------------------------------------
I started this one by recording a short sequence of the FM-OP in VCV Rack into Morphagene and reversing it.
Neutron is going through Freak in Rescomb mode, and through another virtual Freak in Vorg LP mode. It's receiving pitch and gates from the Beat Step Pro and goes also through Chronoblob2 from Alright Devices.
The O Coast is being sequenced by the ADDR Seq in VCV Rack, which is going through Fate from the Geodesics for some extra spice in the sequence. It's going through the overdrive and the delay of the Neutron.
I send a gate from the BeatStep Pro to the Steiner Parker filter from Vult and ping it. This gives this round percussive sound.
The MicroFreak is going through another Chronoblob2, and with the Midilar I turn the delay loop on and off and also change the delay time.
With the Keystep I play the XFX Wave oscillator from Blamsoft, and with the Midilar I control the position of the wavetable.
The BeatStep Pro is the master clock, sending a clock to VCV Rack, and also to the O Coast and Neutron."

Quadrature Modulator, analog synthesizer module 3rdWorldRack
Published on Jul 7, 2019 Sbranvlztronics
"The Quadrature Modulator comprises a Quadrature VCO (Yusynth VCLFO) and a "Dome Filter" (from J. Haible's Frequency Shifter)
The VCO portion has 3 potentiometers (coarse and fine frequency tuning and modulation CV attenuation), one CV input, 4 outputs and 4 LED indicators.
The dome filter section has one input and two outputs. The outputs are 90º phase shifted from each other. The video shows the waveforms from the VCO and Dome Filter on oscilloscope.
Differences from Yusynth Quadrature VCLFO are the capacitor value (1nF instead of 10nF), and changes in the freq control (fine tuning pot, reduction of the CV input resistor value).
It can operate at audio and sub audio ranges (0.2 to 4000 Hz approximately), but 1V/8ª tracking is only marginal (~2 octaves).
There is no significant differences in the dome filter circuit.
Some examples shown in the video:
Quadrature VCO controlling 4 VCOs, 1V/8ª CV for the Quadrature VCO input coming from the CV Quantizer.*
Frequency Shifter patch using the Quadrature Modulator and two Ring Modulators.*
Adding FM CV to Quatradure VCO (from the Arduino Clock Divider Logic Thing Octal DAC).*
Thanks for watching"

"The successor to the venerable Sequential Circuits Prophet V - the lighter, leaner, preset-weilding, MIDI capable Prophet 600! Seen here in clean, original condition and just back from a fresh servicing.
All keys works perfectly alone with all the pots, switches, wheels, and jacks. The only detectable "issue" on this bad boy is the no. [4] button on the membrane needs to be pressed harder than the others. The rest of the membrane works fantastically well. New membranes are available and cost about $80. Aside from a little superficial cosmetic corrosion on the casing screws and MIDI plug rims, it's ready to go!"
