Bastl Instruments Introduces Neo Trinity Compact 6-channel Modulation Eurorack Module
video upload by
Press release follows:
We are thrilled to introduce our newest Eurorack module, Neo Trinity. It is a compact 6-channel modulation hub that combines knob and trigger recording, LFOs, CVs, and envelope generators. This module is a spiritual successor to our renowned hex modulation superhero, CV Trinity (released in 2016). Neo Trinity is designed with performance in mind, offering great musical complexity achievable with simple gestures. With Neo Trinity, building compact systems finally makes sense.
Ultimate automatable modulation hub
Each of the Neo Trinity ́s 6 channels can be either LFO, envelope generator, or a CV knob recorder, while their main parameter can be automated with the REC button.
Each channel also features a recordable trigger generator with an algorithmic fill feature to get the inspiration started or to make things polymetric and keep your patches ever-changing. Use the SHIFT button to change modulation shapes and sync selected or all channels to an internal or external clock.
Since Neo Trinity has been designed with performance in mind, it includes channel mutes and allows storing whole presets as banks.
Easy to control with complex possibilities
While the core mechanics of the module are very straightforward, the inclusion of assignable CV inputs exponentially increases the complexity of the module’s behavior. Control some or all channels in different ways with the META IN and utilize channels’ E and F dedicated inputs. The inputs can control the main parameter in a positive or inverted way, control the output amplitude, and act as an external trigger or a trigger for the internal Sample & Hold function. The CV knob recorder mode also acts as a quantizer, and when combined with the CV inputs, it turns into a handy voltage processor.
Neo Trinity will be released on January 11, 2024, 7pm CET, priced at €290 excluding VAT. Available from the Bastl Store and our retailers.

Frequency Central Introduces AKROPOLI Advanced Generative Sequencer
video upload by Frequency Central
"Akropoli is an extension and enhancement of our successful Little Melody and High Towers modules, offering the features of both of these modules as well as some of it’s own unique features such as mute buttons per channel, manual transpose knob and 1V/oct transpose CV input. Akropoli operates using our proprietary TOOL V2 code, and can count in integers as well as multiples for even more subtle and evolving variations.
Akropoli is a generative sequencer based around clock divisions and a chromatic quantiser, used to create in-the-moment licks and riffs. It is more that the sum of it’s parts.
Akropoli’s internal operations can be considered as 4 clock dividers patched into a CV mixer via attenuators. The attenuators select notes over a 5 octave range, the clock dividers determine how often those notes are added to the mix. The final output of Akropoli is quantized chromatically for fast set up and continuously pleasing results. Akropoli has an onboard transposition knob, as well as a 1V/oct transposition CV input.
The 4 clock dividers are labelled A, B, C, and D. They all receive clocks from the same source, the divisions may be selected using the presets and the individual division selectors. The clock dividers can be set to count up, down, or to one of a variety of modes that move between counting up and down. For further information about Presets and Modes see the Little Melody User Guide.

Four DXG Patches (No Talking!) | Make Noise
video upload by MAKEN0ISE
"Four DXG Patches.... and a Challenge!
Can you explain the workings of the final patch in this video? Put your answer in the comments!
0:00 'Acid Echoes'
1:30 'QPAS Fork'
3:52 'Tuned Kicks... and Lasers!'
6:04 'Stereo DroneMix'
The final patch starts at 6:04.
A couple things to encounter:
1. How is Channel 2 of the DXG being modulated? Why does it sound 'spiky?'
2. Why does the René sequence sometimes stop on its highest note?
3. Why do the Mimeophon's Repeats sometimes sound 'noisier' than other times?
4. What is happening with the patch cable starting around 10:48?

Fully Restored 1979 Oberheim OB-1 Mono Synth SN 0690

"This 1979 Oberheim OB-1A mono-synth's in great shape and has been fully restored receiving around 40 hours of bench time. This has been fully recapped, many chips replaced, key-bed disassembled, cleaned, re-bushed, leveled, calibrated for perfect operation, every control, switch, pot has been cleaned and lubed - not just sprayed... Sonically this synths a monster, easily has equal balls / umph compared to a MiniMoog. Fully operational in every way - presets work, which is a very unique feature for a mono synth. Pratt reed keybeds ready for rapid fire.
Condition wise this synth's in fantastic shape, its clean. There are very minor scratches in the paint in places, which is almost inevitable for any Oberheim of this era- The graphics are all there. Any marks will be visible in our photos. Overall we rate this a solid 8.5/10. Considering its from 1979 and survived the 1980's without a hole being drilled into it is a miracle.."

I thought that was rust on the front panel, but it's actually what remains of the orange Nextel paint.
From the listing:
"This synth is in excellent functional condition, the original LED screen has been replaced with a brand new one.
This is one of the early units with the Nextel paint finish, which naturally degrades over time. The Nextel finish has mostly rubbed off, showing a bright orange paint undercoat. Some of the knob markers are hard to read and/or have rubbed off."
It's interesting that the print on the panel remains.
