SAUCY SYNTHS Modal CARBON8 Experimental Synthesizer (No Talking)
video upload by SAUCY SYNTHS
"This SAUCY SYNTH is a synthwave and ambient dream. Meet the all-new Carbon8 by Modal Electronics.
This is my 1st video. I don't know what I'm doing. :) If you dig it, please like, comment, and subscribe!
Released in October 2024, against all odds, it looks as though this company has come successfully out of bankruptcy with a new owner - the manufacturer of Modal synths.
Unlike other launches, due to the transition of new ownership and assets, this new beauty comes to you in stealth mode. A soft launch. No synth mafia or shills reviewing this synth just yet. Unlike previous launches, Modal did not send out a lot of units to influencers for review. They should because this synth is unlike any synth I've ever heard or played before.
It truly invites you to experiment with sound design and has you dive into tangents.
This is my 1st 30-minute interaction with the synth. I barely touched the presets. All sounds you hear are 100% carbon8 sounds without any processing, pedals, or effects. I did have a sustain pedal plugged in to latch / hold to free up my hands to twist those sweet knobs."

What Does a 50 Year Old Synthesizer Sound Like with Chroma Console?
video upload by Hologram Electronics
"The ARP Odyssey is a truly legendary synthesizer 🎹
This particular synth is a Mark I version (produced between 1972 and 1975) and sounds just a lively in 2024 as it must have 50 years ago.
With 2 oscillators, 1 LFO, 2 envelopes, oscillator sync, ring mod, etc etc, you can get far ranging sounds from this instrument, but admittedly, the sound is a bit dry without any effects.
Not only does Chroma Console look right a home next to the ARP, we think they sound pretty stellar together as well."
FIVE MINUTES WITH - Erica Synths LXR Drum Module
video upload by sonicstate
"@magicalsynthadventure3216 Takes the @EricaSynths and Sonic Potions LXR Eurorack module for a spin.
With plenty of drum synthesis features to get down with and 6 voices, it could be a great choice for pairing with your sequencer - in this case the Korg Drumlogue is used."

"EXPAND YOUR SYNTH, EFFECTS PEDAL OR MIDI CONTROLLER
We will proudly present the rather simple but ever so useful PLUS 3 – desktop expression and sustain pedal that adds controls and unlocks features in MIDI controllers, synthesizers, effects pedals and semimodular/eurorack instruments, some in ways previously not possible
PLUS 3 is designed for musicians who prefer compact desktop control of features accessible via the sustain and expression jacks of their instruments, as opposed to using their feet or bulky sustain and expression pedals on their desk.
PLUS 3 includes a high-quality fader for expressive performance and automation, a momentary sustain key, and an innovative 'drone mode' toggle switch, which lets you free your hands and hold notes indefinitely. In drone mode, the momentary key’s functionality changes, to let you swap droned notes with new ones.
PLUS 3 is totally passive, meaning it doesn’t require any power to work. It’s made of aluminum, so it’s sturdy, light, and portable. Its sustain key is based on standard mechanical keyboard-style keys, so you can customize it and swap the key out to make the pedal your own with your key of choice.
Capabilities PLUS 3’s sustain side unlocks for instruments with a sustain jack, subject to the instruments capabilities are among other:
A momentary sustain button for instruments that don’t have a dedicated physical sustain control (most don’t!)
A dedicated drone/hold/arp latch switch for instruments that don’t have one (many don’t!). It’s important to note that even if an instrument has a hold button, its sustain jack may unlock additional functionality or behavior (for example, a button that simply holds notes does not cause Piano VSTs to resonate sympathetic strings in the way using sustain does. See more examples in Loopop’s video)
Momentary and toggle control of any parameter mappable in your DAW synth’s mod matrix/menu system, or effect pedal (for example, sostenuto, a freeze effect, dry/wet bypass, swapping presets, etc)
Capabilities PLUS 3’s expression side unlocks for instruments with an expression jack are, among other:
PATCH BETTER! with Dual Slopes & Function Generators // with ARC from NANO Modules
video upload by DivKid
"Join me for this video packed to the brim with patches that you can apply to LOTS of modules (some of which you may already have) on the use and importance of slopes and function generators. Learning how to use them and the range of things they can do allows them be the backbone of a modular system that will bend into your ideas and provide way more than the simple interface may suggest.
This is also a demo of the new 'ARC' from NANO Modules. A dual slope/function generator with added bipolar VCAs and logic that as you'll see in the video and timing index below - is highly capable of many things!"
via NANO Modules

Each channel can function as an Envelope generator (AD/ASR), an Audio & Low-frequency oscillator (VCO/LFO), a Slew limiter, and a Waveform Modulator (VCA/Polarizer), with specific trigger and signal inputs.
Envelope Generator AD/ASR
Use the Rise and Fall controls to create simple AD envelopes for punchy and percussive sounds.
For ASR envelopes, turn on the Sustain switch! The envelope will rise to the peak and hold there while the Gate is active.
Audio & Low Frequency Oscillator
ARC features RISE & FALL frequency adjusts and a SPEED switch with three positions (slow, mid, fast) to cover all possible needs.
Turn on the LOOP switch to convert the function generator into an oscillator.
ARC can generate a huge range of frequencies, from 10 minutes cycle to 1000Hz for producing both audio-rate signals for pitched sounds and ultra slow waveforms for modulation purposes. Slew Limiter & Waveform Modulation
Slew Limiter. Smooth out abrupt changes in CV & audio signals to create filtering and portamento effects.
Waveform Modulation. Adjust Rise and Fall shapes to create logarithmic, linear, or exponential shapes over your input signal.
VCA & Signal Inversion (POL)
The VCA/POL adjusts the volume of the signal, acting as a traditional VCA for dynamic level control. Additionally, the POL function modifies the polarity, enabling both positive and negative modulation for more complex sound shaping.
The OFFSET function can add or subtract a voltage from -5 to 5V to match the required signal range.
Logic Section
ARC includes a X > Y gate logic output, which compares the two function signals and outputs a gate when X is greater than Y.
Additionally, the module provides the SUM of X and Y functions, as well as OR and AND logic functions."

The disting NT is supplied with a 'TMB' breakout module. This video shows one way this can be used, to provide TRS MIDI input and output, and to expose the two additional audio outputs.
via Expert Sleepers "The disting NT is the latest in the line of modules from Expert Sleepers that started with the original disting in 2014, which performed one of 16 very different functions at the turn of a knob. This concept has evolved through the disting mk3 (2015) - which added the possibility of firmware updates, and so a continually improving selection of functions - and the disting mk4 (2017) - which added a display, and brought the MicroSD card slot onto the front of the module, emphasising its increased importance for functions such as sample playback - to the disting NT’s predecessor, the disting EX (2020).
