Watery Sound Design With Softpop 2! // Experimental Feedback Synth

video upload by Michael Manning

"The ‪@bastlinstruments‬ Softpop 2 is a little mighty synthesizer that's full of character and features unique feedback routing alongside intuitive controls. I show an overview of the instrument before then applying it towards making SFX for a 2D video game I'm making, showing my sound design process and some more advanced tips and tricks."

Korg Multi/Poly Demo 01 by Calvin Cardioid

"No external FX at all, barely used the onboard FX, only used the onboard reverb for the Virus-like parts around 1:00. About 3db of ProL2 only."

Nekyia Circuits / OBSIDIAN ROOT LOCUS CADENCE MUZZLE / 4 patches with in depth explanations

video upload by BRiES

"I recently received a package straight from Greece with 4 modules by the brand Nekyia Circuits. The module selection is somewhat eclectic with for example a general purpose (but very versatile) multimode filter but also a leftfield take on the dual lfo trope and vactrol based (but active) modules.

We decided not to go for a regular demo, instead I'm just demonstrating a few patches where I used OBSIDIAN, ROOT LOCUS, CADENCE and MUZZLE in context, complete with a step by step explanation of what's happening.

If you'd like to know more about the brand and their modules check their webpage: https://nekyiacircuits.com/

Thanks for watching!

Happy Nerding MMM VCF 6HP version

video upload by Happy Nerding

"MMM VCF 6HP version is now available for order"

http://www.happynerding.com/

"MMM VCF (M**g Multi Mode Voltage Controlled Filter) is a dual VCF having common controls for both parts. Thus it can be used as a stereo filter, or patched with different combinations of the available inputs/outputs. And all this functionality is packed in the compact 8 hp wide module.
MMM VCF has the famous transistor ladder core introduced by Bob Moog, but also features the added Band Pass and High Pass modes, not available in the original design. Those extra modes are greatly widen the possible spectral modification of the input sound.
The module was carefully designed to have vanishingly small noise and bleed.

SPECIFICATIONS

FREQ: 20 Hz … 22 kHz – manual frequency range

RES: 35 Hz … 22 kHz – self oscillation range

FM: 0 … 5 V will modulate the whole hearing range at max settings

LP: 24 db/oct Low Pass output

BP: 12 db/oct Band Pass output

HP: 12 db/oct High Pass output

outputs impedance: 500 Ohm
module depth: 4 cm
width: 6 HP
power consumption: +42 mA / -40 mA at +/-12 Vdc"

N-Dimensional Sequencing | Make Noise

video upload by MAKEN0ISE

"Since RenĂ©'s Z axis is a collection of States that can be sequenced or modulated through, it’s tempting to think of it as kind of a collection of sequences, something like a “song mode.” It can be used in that way, but let’s use it a different way today. We’re going to think of it as adding at least a third dimension (and maybe more?) to the two-dimensional sequencer."
