Sounds from Superbooth 2025: WMD Skorpion
video upload by Perfect Circuit
"We're on the ground in Berlin at the year's biggest synth event. Stay up to date with all the latest gear news, announcements, and preorder info on our Superbooth coverage hub."
WMD's Skorpion is a next-generation analog wavefolder module that redefines how timbre can be manipulated and modulated in the modular environment. Featuring eight cascading fold stages controlled by a powerful vector core, Skorpion introduces a dynamic system of thresholds and voltage targets, allowing users to morph basic waveforms into harmonically rich, evolving shapes. Its hands-on slider interface offers intuitive control over folding behavior, modulation depths, and macro animation, while the hybrid analog-digital architecture ensures both sonic depth and interface precision. Whether you're after subtle saturation or full-spectrum harmonic chaos, Skorpion provides a versatile platform for creative signal transformation.
Beyond its core wavefolding capabilities, Skorpion offers a wide array of modulation tools including a dedicated macro envelope, internal LFOs, CV routing, and stereo widening functions. Unique features like target Order, Sync modes, and symmetrical/asymmetrical modulation application give users the power to craft entirely original textures with fine-tuned control. Designed to be both exploratory and exacting, Skorpion delivers a deep synthesis experience for sound designers, live performers, and modular enthusiasts alike.

"Superbooth 2025 // ERICA SYNTHS HEX DRUMS // DEMO at the ERICA BOOTH
The HexDrum has 10 sound sources, mostly based on the great sounding Hexinverter Mutant series of percussion modules: two kick drums for different (or combined) flavours – the BD9 and Bass drum, an optimized Mutant Machine, Snare drum, Clap, Rimshot and HiHats. To complete the setup, Erica Synths Cymbals are added, featuring 10 sets of crash and ride cymbal samples. All drums have individual outputs and for the master section they are panned in the stereo field before being sent into the Compressor and Master Drive, derived from the Mutant Glue. A special feature is the kick drum-controlled sidechain that can be used to animate drum patterns on the beat.

Together with visionary British graphic designer Ian “Swifty” Swift, we’ve reimagined our iconic paraphonic synthesiser in his inimitable DIY style and packed it with fresh, new artist packs from Bass Station II power users Legowelt, Pecq, and Maria Chiara Argirò.
Key Features
Limited-edition colourway
Includes 60 new artist patches
Two analogue oscillators
Two characterful filters
Incudes AFX and Paraphonic modes
Analogue soul.
Since 2013, Bass Station II’s deep capability, raw character, and unbeatable value have made it a modern classic. Now, together with British designer Ian “Swifty” Swift, we’re reimagining it with a fresh, new look, that brings underground attitude to a synth that's long been a driving force in electronic music.
Powerful analogue oscillators
Bass Station II’s true-analogue signal path begins with two tuneable, syncable oscillators with four waveforms each plus, a sub-oscillator for even more low end and adjustable portamento. The two dedicated LFOs allow for modulation of other parameters via four waveforms of their own.
ELTA Music POLIVOKS PF3 mk.2

!updated version!
FILTER modes - Lowpass, Bandpass, Hi-pass, Notch.
NOISE generator - pink, white and channel balancing.
FILTER 1 and FILTER 2 - CV controls.
LINK switches to control two filters and CV at the same time with one slice knob.
SOFT/HARD cutoff control
Technical specifications:
Input audio signal level: Max 1.5 V
Modulation CV input: - 5 to +5 V or 0 to + 10V
Power supply: universal mains adapter 100-220V / 12V 1A out
Filter weight: 0,7kg
Packed weight: 1 kg
Dimensions: 175x135x50mm
WARNING! Before using the device, turn it on for 5-7 minutes and let it stand. The control transistor should warm up. So that in SOFT mode there is no feedback when the FREQ knobs are in zero position. If you overdo it. The UD1208 chips used in the filter are very sensitive and are never the same. Therefore you will not mathematically get two identical filters. Which is an advantage when using the unit in stereo.
