Make Noise Modular Jam - Fracture #01 Live Performance

video upload by Anton Anru

"๐ŸŽ† Fractures is the result of a series of experiments with the Make Noise modular trio: 0-Coast, Strega, and 0-Ctrl. This combination of instruments is perfectly suited for generative ambient music, where hypnotic repetition merges with expression and dynamic movement.

๐Ÿ’ฝ I recorded a 10-track album using only three Make Noise devices and VST effects. All tracks were recorded live in a single take, with no additional editing. Each piece is built around a sequenced pattern and a complex patch that evolves continuously, shaped manually in real time.

The album is available on all streaming platforms.

➕ Bandcamp: https://anru.bandcamp.com/album/fract...

The album explores a wide emotional range — from brighter, more uplifting moments to darker, more noise-driven textures — offering a diverse sonic journey shaped by the raw, living nature of modular synthesis.

๐Ÿ“’ I also have patches for Make Noise and other synthesizers: https://antonanru.sellfy.store/

๐ŸŽ› Lately, I’ve been more interested in working with simpler forms rather than complex arrangements in DAW. Semi-modular synths are perfect for this approach. In this case, the arrangement is the patch itself. If it’s well thought out, you can easily play a full track in a specific genre—like ambient or techno—using just that one patch.

๐Ÿ“ I’m curious to hear your thoughts—does this kind of format immerse you in a certain mood or evoke a specific emotion? Or does the sound feel too experimental and harder to connect with? I’d really appreciate any feedback. Enjoy listening!"

Minimoog & Ableton SOLFA – A Generative MIDI Sequencer for Minimal and Experimental Music

video upload by Akihiko Matsumoto

"SOLFA – A Generative MIDI Sequencer for Minimal and Experimental Music
https://akihikomatsumoto.sellfy.store...
Inspired by Arvo Pรคrt, Designed for Creative Exploration
SOLFA is a generative MIDI sequencer for Ableton Max for Live, built for electronic music producers, experimental composers, ambient sound designers, and those interested in algorithmic composition. Inspired by the works of Arvo Pรคrt, this tool allows you to create evolving, hypnotic patterns that seamlessly blend tonal minimalism with rhythmic complexity.
Minimal Pitch, Infinite Possibilities
At the core of SOLFA is a simple seven-note sequence. These notes are randomized across octaves, generating organic melodic shifts. This structured yet fluid approach results in endlessly varying musical textures that maintain a coherent harmonic identity.
Independent Rhythmic Structures
SOLFA employs isorhythmic principles, where the pitch sequence operates independently from the rhythm pattern. This allows for intricate, evolving interactions between melody and rhythm, giving rise to unexpected yet deeply musical results.
Ideal for Generative and Experimental Music
Whether you're composing ambient soundscapes, intricate polyrhythmic pieces, or avant-garde electronic music, SOLFA provides a unique method for crafting evolving compositions with minimal input. By embracing randomness within defined constraints, it encourages exploration while maintaining musical cohesion.
Unlock New Creative Dimensions
Transform simple ideas into dynamic, evolving sequences with SOLFA. Experiment with chance, structure, and unpredictability to discover new musical possibilities. Now available for Max for Live.

MIDI on Yamaha CS80 is impressive!

video upload by Jose's Vintage Keys

"Electronic musician ⁨@rimela⁩ shows just how far you can take MIDI on a Yamaha CS-80. I reached out to him, and he generously shared the original tracks so we could take a closer look at the possibilities. In the end, I couldn’t resist adding a little improv of my own to his fantastic tune. Donner Essential L1 vs Roland SH101

video upload by Starsky Carr

"Well this was a surprise... and what a pleasant surprise it is!! The DonnerMusic Essential L1 is an analog synth based around the vintage Roland SH101 with a few modern extras and additional functions, like an extra ADSR envelope, triangle wave, syncable LFO and storage for 128 64 step sequences.

Here I demo it paired with the Donner KB 32M magnetic keyboard which simply clips on and works a treat. So you have the option of a desktop unit or a full synth.

I put it up against my vintage Roland SH101"
