pennies

via Heath Finnie
"In recording songs for an album I'm working on I recorded this little bit of noise last night. I'm sending it to you because its all Memorymoog Plus. It's not usually what people hear coming from a Memorymoog (strings, pads, leads, etc.)"

Synth Wiki and Discussion Group Update

Just a reminder, if you haven't already be sure to read through this post and vote if it matters to you. There are some comments at the bottom of the post as well. Feel free to chime it. Note that both the WIKI and the Group will have zero impact on the blog and my posting, and both are opt-in only, meaning if you aren't interested in them or the exiting FORUM, there really is zero impact to you. HOWEVER, there will be an impact in the existing FORUM, so if you are a member do take the time to read the post and chime in. I will most likely freeze the forum and add a link to it in the Discussion Group site for those that want to check out what has been archived there. Everything new would go on the Discussion Group. I guess I could keep both but that would dilute information further and like I said in the prior post, the content on the current forum would be at risk long term. For what it's worth, there have been ZERO posts on the forum today. :)

Chris List is a new label. Anyone have more info on the designer and/or a website for his work?

Voltage Controlled Deathillator

"Not sure exactly what to classify this as... Its a 16-minute recorded tweak session on a modular analog synth. Watch your speakers/headphones/ears near the end, it gets a little crazy.

For the synth-heads, modules featured prominently:
2x Livewire AFG
2x Plan B Model 13 Dual Timbral Gate (both gates used on both modules)
Plan B Model 28 Programmable Tap Clock (driving everything in here timing-wise)
Harvestman Malgorithm
Harvestman Polivoks VCF
Harvestman Stilton Adapter with Boss DD-7 with tap-tempo pedal on the DD-7 to sync it with the Model 28

Be careful with your speakers/headphones/ears near the end!

Hammond Synthesizer model 102200

via this auction

"This is a rare Hammond Synthesizer from back in the '70s.

Only 200 units where made, and most of those no longer excist.

This is basically brand new. It never left the dealers store, and I took it back home and have had it in my "stock" blanket wrapped for several years. It is complete with Music Rack, original power cord and special lock-cards for making special voices on the punch-buttum panel to the left of the keyboard. The keys are the same as on the newer Hammonds like B-200 and all the Organs from the 1970-80!"

Evil Chaotic Analog Synthesizer Noise Box

via this auction

"Here’s an original work of functional art, created by New York artist, Bent-It. The piece shown in the pictures is the one you will receive.

With this piece, Bent-It combines visual, audible, and physical stimulation, fostering a truly unique, thought-provoking, interactive work of art. The artist’s fundamental concept of “art creating art” is made evident, as the owner of this piece may physically control and manipulate the audio/sound/noise/music/art output.

The guts of this functional artwork include three oscillators which mess with each other, causing its ¼” output to spit out droning, spaced-out, ring modish, 80’s video game-ish, psychedelic analog noises. The on-off switch can also be flipped rhythmically to create cosmic/spacey, bleeping and blooping. But, to experience the full potential hook it up to audio effect pedals, boards, racks, Mac or PC. The piece also has a ¼” input for anything with a strong enough signal. For example a drum machine such as a Roland tr-505 drum machine.

This one-of-a-kind specially modded unit has an extra FAT silicon transistor fuzz circuit, volume/fatness control and two extra mini slide switches which hold the push button functions.

A standard BOSS style 9-volt DC, negative tip, 200ma wallwart adapter will bring this functional artwork to life. It is not included.

Please see my other auctions for more quality gear."

Now for the hard Facts: The pre-amp section was intended for VCO analog synth Signals, It sounds very clean with these signals because these levels are usually Beefy and Big.
It can however amplify Line level by x100. But by cranking it up all the way you will hear slight distortion and a little Noise. This also applies to Guitars/bass. In other words this is not a crystal clear Pre-amp when cranked up x100 gain. This is how I wanted it to be, distorted and sour mainly for Analog Signals. I made some demos passing various signals through the filter so you can hear it in action."
