The Swedish company will continue to operate from its headquarters in Gothenburg and its subsidiaries in Los Angeles and Berlin, with its team, brand, and product development focus intact.

Gothenburg, Sweden — April 8, 2026 — Elektron, the Swedish instrument maker behind a range of electronic musical instruments and performance tools, today announced that it has been acquired by Bonnier Capital, the long-established Swedish family-owned media group with international operations.

The acquisition of Elektron Music Machines AB from a consortium led by EMM Intressenter AB provides long-term support for Elektron’s continued development, international growth, and future expansion. Elektron will maintain full independence and continue to operate from its headquarters in Gothenburg, as well as its subsidiaries in Los Angeles and Berlin, with its existing team, brand, and commitment to creating instruments and tools for music makers worldwide.

In connection with the transaction, Jonas Hillman, Alexander Hellström, together with the management team, will reinvest alongside Bonnier Capital, reaffirming their ongoing commitment and active participation in Elektron’s journey.

Since its founding in 1998, Elektron has established a distinct position in electronic music through its unique approach to sound, sequencing, and performance-oriented design. As part of Bonnier, the company will gain access to broader strategic resources while preserving the focus and identity that have defined Elektron over the years.

“Elektron has built a truly distinctive position at the intersection of technology, creativity, and music culture. We are deeply impressed by the team’s craftsmanship and vision, and we see strong alignment with our long-term approach to building enduring, creative businesses in the music industry. It gives us the support and strategic backing to keep doing what we love most—creating inspiring instruments and pushing the boundaries of sound and performance. At the same time, this is just the beginning of a more ambitious journey ahead. Together with Bonnier Capital, we see strong opportunities to grow further, as we expand our role in shaping the future of electronic music creation.”

video upload by atnr

"A piece created with Rhodes MKII, Prophet-10, and ARP ODYSSEY.

On the Prophet-10, a synth pad is performed with reverb applied using blueSky.

On the Rhodes MKII, chorus from the CE-5 and delay from the DD-6 are applied.

On the ARP ODYSSEY, the signal runs through LOST+FOUND with reverb and tape style effects.

The harmony is mainly played on the Rhodes MKII, while the ODYSSEY and Prophet-10 handle the melody."

Free Behringer CZ-1 online editor

video upload by gary909

via gary909:

"I've finally finished my Behringer CZ-1 editor, which is available online for free:

https://www.behringer-cz1-editor.co.uk/

This editor has taken me forever to complete! It's by far and away the most advanced one I've built yet, featuring 90 or so sliders. I'd had no experience with Phase Distortion Synthesis before starting this project, so it meant reading a few books and watching hours of you tube videos. There's bound to be a few bugs, but it beats using the single button on the hardware to program the unit.

The UI has also been designed to shed some light on how to program it, with panels being highlighted when accessible, and animations to convey what is being changed. Hopefully it should help somebody. Every control has it's function listed, you just need to hover the mouse over it.

Here's a short youtube video going over some of the features.

It's completely free and works through the browser, you just need to plug in your CZ-1 into your pc or phone. Safari unfortunately isn't supported because Apple doesn't allow midi data transfer, but it should work well on most other platforms."

"70s Korg Polyensemble polysynth which was the forerunner of the PS series. Working well throughout other than I noticed that the voice selector switch can be intermittent probably because it hasn’t been used for along time. These old switches like to be cleaned and exercised. Also the Soft knob is a little scratchy when turning but not a lot. Other than that it’s cosmetic - there is damage to the tolex on the top and a small patch of tolex missing from the underside. If I could keep I would consider a graft from the underside to the top. No lid."
