Cerberus' Four Heads (Akai Timbre Wolf thru Elektron Octatrack MK2)

Published on Sep 27, 2018 HardtekStudios

"Download the audio track for FREE here-https://soundcloud.com/hardtek-studios/cerberus-four-heads
In this video, I have the four individual outs of the Akai Timbre Wolf Going into the four individual inputs of the Elektron Octatrack MK2. Each Octatrack channel has two fx applied to each Timbre Wolf part, to twist them into very different sounds from each other. Even thought they are exactly the same synthesizerx4. Joining these mangled Wolves are metal hits for the main kick & snare, a hyper, chopped up drum loop, and lots of sound design loops. Each mangled by there own set of FX with lots of crossfader controlled scenes to further the animation of sound. The eight part is used asa a master channel for full mix filtering & compression. A bit of extra compression, EQ and verb was added in Logic."

AKAI Timbre Wolf

Published on Aug 20, 2018 MrFirechild

"A 'friend' of mine 'let me loan' his Timbre Wolf...say no more, what a legendary synthesizer! No vibrato, no attack parameter, no nothing. Very warm analog sound though. You can describe it as a 4 voice TB303. The track is called Timbre Wolf and is produced and composed by www.firechild.se and will NOT be included on any album whatsoever in the future or in the past ;) Enjoy."

SoundCheck: AXE + Wolf

Published on Aug 14, 2018 Stoss

"Using a Synthstrom Audible Deluge to sequence an Akai Timbre Wolf. Messing with effects settings in my AXE (custom Axoloti FX unit controlled by a MIDI Fighter Twister). The FX unit is a combination of delay, envelope following mangler and bit crusher all synced to MIDI clock. It’s a long video in which I experiment with different FX settings applied to synth chords."

Exploring the Akai Timbre Wolf's Unison Mode

Published on Apr 22, 2018 HardtekStudios

"A lot of people are really underestimating the power of the Akai Timbre Wolf. You have four basic mono bass synths that can be stacked with different setting, or even output to different processors for massive layering possibilities. You can even throw it into poly mode for some analog wave sequencing-like effects. The Timbre Wolf can be bought very inexpensively, so I would say the biggest downfall is it's large footprint."

Timeless Termination (Akai Timbre Wolf, Bent Kawai K1m & Moog MF Delay)

Published on Apr 19, 2018 HardtekStudios

"Download the audio track for FREE here-https://soundcloud.com/hardtek-studio...

The 1st track of the Timbre Wolf is being used to sequence the drums on the Circuit Bent Kawai K1m. Track two is the bassline which is going out of it's individual output and into a clipping mackie mixer channel. The third & fourth are sequenced the same for layering & output the main out, then going into the Moog MF Delay. All this was recorded then mixed in Logic pro, utilizing a bit of compression, EQ & verb."

Akai Timbre Wolf - Sweet Dreams (Had to be done)

Published on Jul 25, 2017 Martin Greaves

"Sorry, couldn't resist sequencing one of my favourite synthesizer melodies. Three tracks used (main melody, counter melody and bass). Chorus and Reverb used along with TR-8 handling percussion duties."

Akai Timbre Wolf? (yes, I still have it!)

Published on Jul 21, 2017 Martin Greaves

"Been busy with life stuff, but had a few moments to dick around with the TW. It runs through a TCElectronic M350 FX unit with Delay and Reverb knobs wound right up. The TR-8 provides some simple percussion. The Timbre Wolf has three sequences running and I am playing the fourth voice. Simple monotonous song. Thanks for watching!"

Accent - Modular (and more) Jam #22

Published on Dec 20, 2017 Jay Hoskins

Title: Accent
Genre: Electronic Melodic Ambient Downtempo
Artist: Rite Rain Causality - Jay Hoskins

"Played live and recorded directly from the stereo mixer outputs.

I replaced the Tempi with a Pamela's New Workout and midi breakout which is easier do a master clock with run/stop and sync the external gear. In this jam the Pamela is the master clock. The circuit is just doing drums this time.
Drone comes from the Mutable Instruments braids through the Eowave Fluctuations filter which has independent modulations on A & B channels and then panned left and right in the mixer. It is sequenced by the Make Noise Rene. Drone audio is double through rings and modulated by Pamela.
The same sequence plays a line on the Studio Electronics Tonestar 2600 along with several modulations.
The bass arp is on the Akai Timbre Wolf in polyphonic mode. Since the notes rotate through the oscillators it is easy to have each voice have a slightly different texture and make it interesting.
Finally the Korg MS-20 provides the primary melody and theme."

Perfect Patch - Live No DAW Jam #19

Published on Nov 28, 2017 Jay Hoskins

"Title: Perfect Patch
Genre: Electronic Downtempo
Artist: Rite Rain Causality - Jay Hoskins

Played live and recorded directly from the stereo mixer outputs.

This was a short piece I put together for a recent contest by Perfect Circuit. Entries were posted to Instagram so there was only a minute to work with. It was hard to do something in a minute and there were more modulations to explore than would fit, not to mention that It is pleasant just to let it run.

In this performance the circuit is on the sidelines and I'm using the LFO on the Studio Electronics Tonestar 2600 for master tempo to the Tempi. Baseline is coming from the Pittsburgh Modular SV-1 sequenced by the Tempi and Akai Timbre Wolf. The other three voices of the Timbre Wolf are doing the pad chords through the Eowave Fluctuations filter. Tempi, Rene, and the Turing Machine are sequencing the Tonestar for the lead synth. The Tempi and Mutable instruments Braids provides the Kick. Finally the sparkle is added by Rings which is doubling the lead voice with a high frequency strike from Tempi."

Timbre Wolf thru TP-2 Tube Pre & Compressor

Published on Apr 5, 2017 HardtekStudios

"In this video. I demonstrate how a little (or lot) of tube warmth and compression can make a huge difference in the sound of the Akai Analog line of instruments. Synth 1 of the Timbre Wolf is routed into channel 1 of the Korg TP-2 Tube Preamp for a healthy serving of tube overdrive to bring out the hidden harmonics of the synth. Synth 2 is routed into channel 2 of the TP-2 utilizing not only the tube overdrive, but getting well smashed by the built in Optical Compressor. I also tweak the synths a bit so you have more variety in sound to experience."

Ambient guitar and synthesizer jam - Jaguar, Sub Phatty, Minitaur, Timbre Wolf, RS-09

Published on Dec 13, 2016 Stephen Hummel

"Volume 2 of the "Circuits and Strings" series from subtractiveLAD aka: Stephen Hummel.

This jam is in a darker, slightly more psychedelic vein. An ambient guitar progression played on my Fender Jaguar is underlined by sequencer-driven synth lines. The Moog Minitaur and Sub Phatty are both sequenced by the Arturia Beatstep via Reaper which is also acting as the master clock. The Beatstep is sync'd to Reaper's clock but sending its step sequenced pattern back into Reaper via USB and then out of Reaper again to the Minitaur and Sub Phatty via each synth's respective USB connection. Reaper's master clock is also sent to the Akai Timbre Wolf but the Wolf's internal sequencer is doing all the work - in "mono" mode each of the 4 voices has its own sequenced pattern. The flow of the piece is punctuated by swells from my Roland RS-09 and a heavier guitar tone, again from the Jaguar.

Let's see if I can remember the effects chains...

The Minitaur and Sub Phatty are panned slightly away from each other and have a bit of reverb on them via the Line 6 Verbzilla on my mixer's effects bus.

The Timbre Wolf is plugged into my Boss RE-20 Space Echo before hitting the mixer. Some auto-panning was also applied in mixing.

The RS-09 is also getting some reverb from the Verbzilla and some additional reverb during mixing, in Reaper.

The main ambient guitar performance on the Jag is going through my Keeley 4 Knob Compressor, the Strymon TimeLine and my Walrus Audio Descent reverb pedal... with volume pedal swells on the VP Jr. Some subtle spacial effects were added in mixing.

The distorted Jag stuff at the end is through the Keeley again and into an EHX Big Muff fuzz pedal.

Both guitar parts were into my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and mic'd by a Shure SM57.

Everything was recorded and mixed in Reaper."
