This clip shows G-Stomper Studio with multiple hardware hooked up over MIDI.

All sequences are done in G-Stomper Studio, while the sounds come from G-Stomper Studio and the attached hardware.
The Nord Lead as well as the ESX1 act only as Sound Module (MIDI Extender), note that the ESX1 Sequencer is NOT running and its sequence is empty.

- The Drum Sounds on T01-T12 come from G-Stomper Studio, +triggers are fired to the backlit pads of the MPK225.
- VT01-VT04 are pure MIDI instrument tracks which control the 4 Nord Lead Synth instances.
- VT05 is a pure MIDI instrument track which controls the the ESX1.
- VT06 is a regular VA-Beast synth.

Furthermore all hardware components are synchronized over MIDI clock (to keep the delay effects and LFOs in the right timing).

The Nexus 9 runs on OpenSL with an internal Latency of 10ms + manual Latency compensation of 20ms.

"As a use-test of the P-600-G VST3 plugin, I created this cover of "Betrayed in the Octagon" by Oneohtrix Point Never. It uses only sounds generated by the Prophet-600 analog synthesizer enhanced by various effects boxes and plugins. In this video, I scroll through the Reaper project to reveal the various audio and MIDI tracks that were used to recreate the song, and at the end the P-600-G program settings for each voice are displayed."

"P-600-G is a VST3 plugin designed to be used with the Prophet-600 analog synthesizer, released by Sequential Circuits in 1982. It presents all of the synthesizer’s program parameters in a single editor window within your DAW and allows for the automation of parameter changes. It also lets you store, recall, export, and import program presets, as well as quickly generate new sounds the the Randomize Program Settings dialog. At this time, P-600-G is only fully-functional within Cockos’ Reaper and Steinberg’s Cubase (Windows OS only). This video explains how to set up the plugin in Reaper.

"Squarp set to revolutionise hardware sequencing workflow with polyrhythmic Pyramid

PARIS, FRANCE: avant-garde musical hardware researcher and developer Squarp Instruments is proud to announce that it is already accepting preorders on its inaugural Pyramid Polyrhythmic Sequencer breakthrough — an advanced hardware standalone sequencer running proprietary PyraOs realtime processing firmware and boasting (multiple) MIDI, USB, CV/Gate, and (Sync48- and Sync24-configurable) DIN Sync connectivity, together with a host of fanciful features belying its compact and bijou form factor — as of May 21...

Most notably, and arguably an absolute rarity in this day and age, Pyramid Polyrhythmic Sequencer is fully polyrhythmic, meaning different and unusual time signatures can be set for each of its 64 tracks to cleverly create shifted-beat sequences — set a track to 4/4 and add other tracks to simultaneously run with it in 5/4, 6/8, 15/8, or whatever — to bring stirring new musical flavours to productions. Pyramid Polyrhythmic Sequencer... it is incontestably an appropriate appellation, after all! Well, to truly get a feel for the flexible future of state-of-the-art and easy-to-use hardware sequencing in the present, perhaps it pays to look to the past? Which is exactly what the forward-thinking research and development team at Squarp Instruments did. “Our aim was to create a hardware sequencer in ‘sync’ with the new styles of electronic music being written nowadays,” notes company co-founder and R&D engineer Tom Hurlin. “There’s a huge gap in the market for this, which is kind of weird, because most popular music from the early-Eighties to the late-Nineties was produced using sequencing hardware. Hip-hop, for example, originated on the MPC series, which actually revolutionised all kinds of music — Madonna to Bryan Ferry to Whitney Houston. How come these machines were suddenly replaced by the computer?”

Good question. One which Squarp Instruments musically meditated on while dreaming up the knockout conceptual design of Pyramid Polyrhythmic Sequencer. So, by cleverly combining computer, sequencing software, controller, and interface, the robust result is an amazingly accomplished sequencing solution that is as practical in use as it is easy on the eye while its road-ready aluminium casing merely measures 268 x 206 x 44 mm. Muses Tom Hurlin: “We felt that we had to create a machine that you could really feel — one that could satisfy any musician from any musical background. We wanted to have nice and playful controls, such as a multipoint touchpad, which was inspired by Korg’s Kaoss Pad and Kaossilator, and to be able to go from basic four-on-the-floor house beats to very experimental rhythms. Really, the important thing is that if you go from the computer to Pyramid then you don’t feel frustrated. The machine should enable you to do exactly what you had in mind when you started working with it, but also allow for some happy accidents along the way when tweaking!”

Two years of research and development, three prototypes, and multiple musical dialogues with various live and studio-based artists later, the cutting-edge electronics and advanced (updatable) firmware — the realtime processing PyraOS operating system allows any parameter to be controlled on the fly and any changes to be listened to immediately — implemented in the production Pyramid Polyrhythmic Sequencer makes for a standalone sequencer par excellence, enabling users to agilely access a wide-ranging workflow based around 64 tracks. Each track can be up to 64 bars in length and acts as a loop that contains polyphonic or monophonic notes, automations and effects, plays repeatedly and controls one of the electronic musical instruments connected to the MIDI 1, MIDI 2 +sync (DIN Sync), CV, and USB outputs. Of course, those instruments could be hardware (such as drum machines, synthesizers, and modular synth systems), virtual instruments (running on a connected computer or even an iOS device, such as Apple’s all-pervasive iPhone smartphone or iPad tablet), or combinations thereof. The full flexibility of CV, G (Gate), and ENV — useful for sequencing any voltage-controlled parameter, such as an envelope generator or filter — connectivity will absolutely appeal to modular synth system aficionados, all the more so since the ever-present Eurorack small-format modular system is increasingly being popularised (and heavily populated) by an ever-growing band of merry ‘boutique’ manufacturers now numbering hundreds worldwide!

With Pyramid Polyrhythmic Sequencer’s high-precision clock, rest assured that the sequencer itself is a superlative synchronisation tool for vintage and modern devices alike. All connected instruments will always remain perfectly in time, however rhythmically complicated those polyrhythmic sequences end up being — by grand design or happy accident! And with whatever users choose to connect to wherever, workflow is cleverly conceived for both stage and studio use, courtesy of four clear-cut, colourful (and colour-coded) modes. Make musical patterns from scratch and program MIDI effects and automations in (red) LIVE or (green) STEP modes by recording performances using the built-in one-octave keypad and so- called smartpads — each configurable as a chord harmoniser, advanced beat repeater, or scaled piano — or creating rhythms and melodies with the self-explanatory step sequencer, then manage and arrange tracks in (yellow) TRACK or (blue) SEQ modes by muting/un-muting tracks on the fly to build songs live or arranging and linking sequences — groups of muted/un-muted tracks — to create complete, structured songs.

All of the INTEGRA-7’s SuperNATURAL synth and XV-5080 PCM tones are onboard, plus an essential collection of ultra-expressive SuperNATURAL acoustic tones that includes pianos, organs, drums, bass, strings, and more. The sound engine in the FA-06/FA-08 is fully compatible with the large, growing collection of INTEGRA-7 synth tones available as free downloads from Roland’s Axial sound library site, and it’s also possible to expand the onboard sound set with FA-series wave sound expansion collections.

In a flash, you can build a full arrangement with the workstation’s huge array of sounds, and with continuous recording in loop mode, you’re able to fill up all 16 tracks without ever stopping! In addition to real-time capture, step recording is also possible, and you have complete control to edit and mix your tracks as you go and save your song to an SDHC card as a stereo audio file. It’s also possible to export your tracks as individual WAV audio files and/or MIDI data for further development in your DAW, making the FA-06/FA-08 a powerful sketchpad for capturing initial sparks that will form the basis for your full-scale computer music productions.

Seamless Hardware Integration with Your DAW
In addition to standalone use as a performance instrument and composing workstation, the FA-06/FA-08 transitions into your computer-based music production world with ease. A simple press of the dedicated DAW Control button instantly sets up the workstation to communicate with your computer via USB*, letting you use the keyboard and knobs to send MIDI data to your DAW for playing software synths, controlling plug-in effects, and more. The FA series also includes control maps for popular DAWs, providing a quick and easy setup to control transport functions and more in your specific software. You can even use the FA-06/FA-08 as a USB audio interface to record a variety of different sources directly into your DAW, including a mic, guitar, or stereo line level device connected to the rear-panel input jacks, and you can capture the workstation’s internal sounds and sampler playback as well. Sound output is also supported, allowing you to monitor the DAW output through the stereo output and headphones jacks on the FA-06/FA-08.

Based on Roland’s mega-popular SP-404SX, the sampler in the FA series features fun, fast, hands-on operation and sampling/playback via convenient SDHC cards. You can play audio samples directly from the 16 pads on the panel, making it easy to expand your performances with loops, backing tracks, one-shots, vocal phrases, sound FX, and more. Thanks to SDHC flash memory, your samples load instantly with no wait time, and you can use the four pad banks and clipboard function to rearrange your samples as needed for any performance. It’s super-easy to sample the workstation’s own sounds or external sources via the Mic/Guitar and Line inputs, and you can even play WAV, AIFF, or MP3 samples that you’ve transferred from your computer. A variety of editing features allow you to tweak your samples to taste, including quick adjustment of playback position and level. In addition to sample triggering, the pads can be used for numerous functions such as muting parts, entering numeric values in the display, and more.

With the unique TFX (total effects), you also have the ability to process the entire output of the workstation with dramatic effects such as DJ FX Looper, Isolator, and many others. "Hey y'all, I am bringing you a brand new piece of amazing awesome-sauce part Seven!!! Day 7
These are my thoughts after using this phenomenal machine for a week, granted I have limited experience with the whole MPC system and a million things to learn. This has been an amazing week learning and growing and I truly believe that anyone can pick and use this fantastic machine. It definitely will take some dedication and a lot of learning but everything is all right there in the Key 37. I set a goal for myself to do a weeks worth of sessions and I am hooked and want to do more. As I am exploring this machine ideas are just flowing and that is a really good feeling. The easiest way to start is with a drum kit which provides you with a set of 16 drums and sounds to choose from to make a custom beat. You then can add an additional drum kit or single sounds to round out your beat. The Key 37 also offers a dedicated button to be able to go right to your keyboard sounds/ Plug ins that will get you going quick. Straight out of the box it comes pre loaded with all of this and AKAI offers additional bundles so you will never get bored or tired of the same sounds. I have not learned to chop samples yet but with STEMS coming out you'll be able to make your own custom samples. I look forward to exploring and sharing what I learn in my Sessions/Tracks to come. This is a personal journey, and whether you choose to share your music or keep it for yourself, don't let the outside noise distract you from creating -the process should be fun and should make you happy. This session I created a beat that is suiting for a conclusion to my first week with the MPC Key 37. "Although primarily a genre built around the use of vintage samples of real instruments, funk and jazz, hiphop and the wider hiphop-inspired genres have incorporated many synth sounds and of course sampled classic synths. The west coast sounds of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg drew from the synth sounds of P Funk. Modern expressions of hiphop, such as the LA beatscene which includes Flying Lotus, MNDSGN and Nosaj Thing have fully incorporated synths into their sound, inspired by electronica as much as classic hiphop.

This pack was inspired by such artists, as well as UK hiphop, triphop and leftfield electronic producers as varied as DJ Shadow, Wagon Christ, Dabrye & Boards of Canada.

64 patches range from funk synth basses, lofi dusty keys, woozy synths, glitchy leads and tinkling percussion. The Macros mostly follow the suggested functions of the Circuit Tracks to facilitate an intuitive workflow.

The 64 samples are nearly all drum sounds, featuring many minimally processed funk hits, as well as synthesized hits made with Serum and also given some lofi processing. All of the synthesized hits are pitched to G, including the obligatory 808 bass. The drums can always be processed even more on the actual Circuit using the repitching, distortion and filtering, which is demonstrated in the included Projects/Sessions.

Included are 16 demo Projects/Sessions which include reconstructions and mashups of tracks which provided inspiration for the patch creation, as well as some original ideas.
