What does this do?
This is a mini analog synthesizer that produces snare drum sounds. Inspiration was taken from the 5U Cor Synth DR02 module. Only the flow chart was studied and used to create this BLM product. VCV Rack was also used to simulate and test the building blocks.

Most of the circuits contained in this product are from other blue lantern module designs.

Some of the building blocks:

-2 1V/Octave Triangle Core VCO's
-2 Sine Wave Shapers
-4 Envelope Generator
-White Noise Generator
-High Pass Filter
-Tone Filter
-2 VCA's
-Mixer

The goal of this module was to recreate some of the more exotic electronic snare sounds.
Your not getting another Roland 'TR' module with the Gimme Some Snare Drum. All the building blocks contain
full analog circuitry, like OTA chips, and Op-amps. No vintage transistor based (Bridge T Oscillator) circuits are used in this product.

The best description I can give you inquiring what the kind of snare drum sounds this module can produce is something comparable to: an Electribe Korg ER-1, Simmons Snare Drum, and the Mattel Synsonics.

"Drums work great, body in good condition with only minor use-wear marks. Battery compartment is nice/clean, has the original battery compartment cover. Box has some shelfwear (e.g., wear along edges, corners) and is somewhat dented."

"Yay I'm back with a new freeware! :D
The Synsonics was launched by Mattel in 1981 as a really low cost alternative to Simmons or MPC Electronics (Before Akai bought them in 84')
It provides 5 sounds: 2 toms, a snare, a cymbal (Close/Open) and a metronome click.
Legends say Kraftwerk used one, but no one knows how, or on which album!
But anyway, loads of musicians used it as a real instrument despite the fact Mattel was often associated with kids toys.
On the actual machine, none of the sounds are editable and the background noise is so important the Synsonics is hard to record.
That's why I decided to develop this small program :D
The free version contains 2 toms, the snare and the cymbals but not the metronome click.
All the sounds are still editable and automatable.

"I bought a mint condition Synsonics Drums for £30. This left me with me with the 'spare repair' one I bought a year ago which I thought would make a great project to see if it could be incorporated into a an acoustic drum kit!

I use a Time electronics Model 8000 Decade Resistor box to help set the correct value resistor to select the sensitivity of triggering Synsonics from the rim of the TOM."

"This thing has actually been collecting dust for a while, so I decided to pull it out and give it another go. It has a really unique sound, due to the cheap, but ANALOG sound engine inside. The pads don't work so well, so I just focused on the programming. This was recorded strait into Logic with absolutely no pre or post processing, so this is the true sound of it."
