Dannysound / Tobinski System Test

video upload by Dannysound

"Testing the system for Superbooth 24 - The new modules also feature a name change as the brand is slowly moving over to Tobinski.
New modules due to be released this year are:

Sequencer - 2 banks of 8 voltage sliders, each bank referenced by 2 independent 8 step sequencers for a total 4 sequencers. Each sequencer features start and end loop points plus external clock inputs. The sequencer has 8 voltage outputs, 6 gate outputs plus transport controls for the internal clock.

Sequencer Expander - Adds a host of extra functions to control each of the 4 sequencers. Including CV over loop start and end points, gate length, step order and many more...

Dual LFOs - 2 LFOs with 16 waveform types. One LFO can be synced to a clock while the other resets to an incoming pulse, plus cv and cross-modulation options for all parameters.

Harmonic Timing Generator - Can be used as a Harmonic Oscillator or Harmonic LFO that can clock each the 4 sequencers in the Sequencer module. The module features multiplier inputs x2, x3, x5 and x7 to multiply the internal oscillator or external sources. It also has 3 outputs for the multiplied waveforms that can be CV or manually addressed using the pushbutton switches or pots.

Interpolating Scanner - Internally connected to the Harmonic Timing Generator and features not only an 8 input scanner with CV options but also has 8 VCAs that act separately from the scanner with their own outputs, plus mixer outputs for ODD, ALL and EVEN for both the scanner and VCAs to allow for stereo effects among other possibilities.

Dual LPG/VCA - 2 x LPG/VCAs in one 6hp module that combine the Dannysound MM VCA based on the classic Mini Moog VCA and also the classic Buchla LPG design (used throughout this clip!) so famous for it's acoustic tone.

Come say hello at Superbooth, I'll be in the Bungalow Dorf with some other great manufacturers!"

sequencer sync

video upload by Dannysound

"Sequencer synced to malekko varigate 8 doing the drums and resetting the bass line coming from sequencer CH1. Voltage block is controlling the step order of sequencer CH3 that does the percussion sounds.
Percussion and bass sounds from the EN129 and Cali oscillators using Timbre and Dual LPG/VCA modules. Drum compression using the Dynamics with some added noise to glue the drums together a bit."

Moog Satellite analog synthesizer signed by Bob Moog SN 2176782

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this listing

"Moog described the Satellite like this:

An electronic music synthesizer is disclosed in which the sound producing chain includes a voltage-controlled oscillator, band-pass filter, low-pass filter, and amplifier in which selected control currents are supplied to low impedance points within the synthesizer circuit from a resistor matrix.

The synthesizer produces sounds approximating different acoustic musical instruments or having different tonal qualities by the application of a predetermined voltage to one of fifteen input columns of the resistor matrix with selected other columns being grounded. The currents provided by the resistor matrix in combination with other externally generated currents control the center frequency and bandwidth of the band-pass filter, the cutoff frequency of the low-pass filter, the gain of the voltage-controlled amplifier, the time constants of transient contour currents used to control the filters and amplifier, and the waveform produced by the voltage-controlled oscillator.

Specialized keyboard, waveshaping, contour generating and modulating circuits are also provided."

Moog mother 32 - Electro jam

video upload by elias kohli

"The moog was a tough one to create a song. The sound of this synth is so massive, you can hardly do a smooth decent sound in the background. Fortunately i used reverb and delay to get some space sound."

One of my favorite tracks from the early 90s
by Massive Attack
Unfinished Sympathy (1991)
written by Robert Del Naja, Grantley Marshall, Shara Nelson, Jonathan Sharp and Andrew Vowles

Featured the E-MU Emax (1986) and the Moog The Source (1981)

This cover song series contains my own recreations of my favourite songs from the last 50 years. The original music from which I take inspiration belong to their respective owners. I recreate tracks only for personal passion and to pay homage to these tracks.
My intention is not to create covers that sound exactly like the original (if you want to hear identical sounds, please listen the original). It's more of an inspiration with my sounds from the old synthesizers from the past and of course the great appreciation for the original performers and producers.
Check out the original songs with the original artists here on YouTube.
Thank you.

Steelphon S900 // Mellotron M400

video upload by foleytronics fx repair

"This is a demo of Tom’s Steelphon that got whooped by UPS - broken circuit boards, broken MDF case, no output. We took the case to be reproduced by Kent Meloy of Tunguska Guitars and in the meantime went to town on the electronics. There isn’t a schematic available anywhere, but after getting the rails back and the keyboard CV working, there was still no output. I isolated it to the filter board and realized the VCF is a Moog copy, component-for-component, so I used a Minimoog schematic to help troubleshoot the problem.

The Mellotron is mine and has undergone quite a bit of work. New pinch rollers, new motor control board, rebuilt the PSU, and fabbed a new key as one was missing."

The Venerable Moog Memorymoog - Inspiration for the Moog Muse?

video upload by Vintage Synthesizer Solutions

"Please join us while we explore the infamous, but actually quite venerable Moog Memorymoog synthesizer. As is widely recognized, the Memorymoog was developed too late and was rushed to the market. By 1982/83, the era of extremely expensive flagship analog polysynths being ubiquitously adopted by professional musicians and studios was coming to an end. Synths like the Sequential Prophet 5, Oberheim OB-X/Xa, & Roland Jupiter 8 had dominated the market, but new digital technology - both in synthesis and sampling, was quickly gaining a substantial foothold in the music industry. The Memorymoog was notorious for reliability issues right out of the box while innovative instruments like the Yamaha DX7 were cheaper, much more reliable, and had a unique new sound.

In hindsight and considering the analog renaissance we've expereinced of late, one can evaluate the Memorymoog from a different and more forgiving perspective... It sounds absolutely fantastic and offeres an incredibly unique & fat tone relative to competetive products of both its era and modern times. Additionally, once a competent technician has sorted common issues with the power supply/fan, connectors, etc. the instrument can be quite reliable from a functionality and tuning standpoint.

The audio is DIRECT, with a just a touch of OTO Bam reverb added on an aux bus - You are hearing the raw audio as it comes directly from the synthesizer. There is NO EQ, Dynamics, etc. Listen on good headphones or monitors!

Thank you so much for watching! This channel is a passion project. These videos are recorded off the cuff. We are just two hobbyists who share a deep passion for synthesizers."

"This is limited edition Moog Voyager XL, only 100 were ever made in celebration of Moog’s modular heritage. Not only that, this synth was a special order of a recording studio based in Austin, TX. Only this synth out of 100 has a green display, others have a blue one. With green display it looks much more “dramatic“. This is the last batch of Voyager XL production line.

I have all the original packaging in my studio in Kyiv, Ukraine. I will ship it to the buyer when I’ll have a chance to get there. But for now I’m selling it as it is."

Depeche Mode - Photographic / Some Bizzare Version (Cover by Synthfluencer)

video upload by Synthfluencer

"'This is Photographic!' - Depeche Mode fans know these words Dave Gahan yelled when playing live in Hammersmith Odeon in 1982. Actually, Photographic is a song from the very, very early days of Depeche Mode and might be created when they still called themselves 'Composition of Sound'. The 'Some Bizzare Version' is actually the first song they officialy released ever on a compilation named 'Some Bizzare Album'.

The song is one of the darker, harder DM songs and this version is even more raw and gritty. It is very reminiscent of the transitions from punk to wave, and the DIY aesthetic of punk in particular comes to the fore here with the hand-played synthesizers. Well before Depeche Mode redefined the genre of synth pop this early version of 'Photographic' is recorded on the gear they could afford back in the days: A Kawai S-100F, a Yamaha CS5, a Moog Prodigy and a Korg KR-55 drum machine. In my cover version I use two of the original synths, the Kawai and the Yamaha to recreate an authentic sound. The role of the Prodigy is taken over by a Behringer Model D, some support sounds by Pro-1 and Pro-800."

New Patch on the Moog Model 10 Modular Synthesizer

video upload by Beto Hale

"Three oscillators total; one using a sawtooth wave; another a pulsewave, and a third using a sine wave (used as an LFO).

The first two sent to the audio input of the voltage controlled low pass filter; the third (LFO) sent into the Control Voltage input of the filter.

The sine wave of the LFO is set to a frequency to match the tempo (in 16th notes) of the song I’m working on."
