SUPERBOOTH 2021 (No talking)

video upload by Mykola

"This is a spontaneous video that was filmed on the last day of the exhibition. I didn't have a tripod with me, so I had to buy it in one of the local shops in Berlin in the morning. I saw a lot of interesting things for myself, and also made new friends.
In general it was very cool, I look forward to the exhibition next year. Thanks to #superbooth

“Carol of the Bells" is a popular christmas song, with music by Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych in 1914 and lyrics by Peter J. Wilhousky. The song is based on the Ukrainian folk chant "Shchedryk". The original folk story related in the song was associated with the coming New Year, which, in pre-Christian Ukraine, was celebrated with the coming of spring in April. The original Ukrainian title translates to "the generous one" or is perhaps derived from the Ukrainian word for bountiful (shchedryj), and tells a tale of a swallow flying into a household to proclaim the bountiful year that the family will have."

KORG M01: 'Carol of the Bells (Anthony Seeha Remix)' by Mykola Leontovych

Published on Dec 30, 2012

"This is my Korg M01 rendition of the Christmas song 'Carol of the Bells'.
Funny story behind this one. I was asked by a friend to perform music with my DS at a little show. On the day before the event, I realized that I still needed more Christmas-like material so I decided to work on this song non-stop for a whole day. It started out as a joke. "I'm gonna make a Christmas dubstep song!" But then it actually turned out to be pretty good... Please enjoy! =)

Carol of the Bells on Chipophone

YouTube via lftkryo | December 19, 2010 |

"This piece, "Shchedryk", was written by Ukrainan composer Mykola Leontovych in 1916, as an assignment for a harmony course. The
ostinato is an ancient new year's chant. Peter Wilhousky wrote the English
lyrics in 1936, transforming the song into a Christmas carol.

The looping ostinato and the stepwise harmonic progressions lend the
composition a chiptune-like character to begin with, which made it a perfect
choice for this little 8-bit greeting. Merry Christmas!"
