"The case was designed and built by Gareth Hill of Services in Wood, Greenwood Lake, NY. The retail price was over $150. The case was made from a single, solid piece of Maple, milled inside to fit an OP-1, and formed, sanded and finished on the outside with a satin finish. It has two recessed hinges that allow the case to close almost completely flush, except for one corner that has a 2mm gap. Gareth lined it with a 3mm black foam, but this can be removed if you want to substitute felt or something else.
The case is a very snug fit and since it's been in my house in northern California, the maple has swelled up a bit and the OP-1 no longer fits completely inside. Some sanding on the part of the new owner should allow the OP-1 to snugly slide in again. It fits so snugly, Gareth designed one corner with a circular clearance so a lanyard around the OP-1 could be used to pull it out. It is a beautiful piece of wood measuring 13 x 5.5 x 2 inches on the outside. The interior compartment, without the foam liner, is almost 11-3/8 x 4 x .75 inches deep.
It feels and smells great, and with a little work could once again be a snug and elegant home for an OP-1.
And no, the OP-1 does not come with - this auction is for the custom case only."

The master keyboard (Korg DW8000) is connected by MIDI cable to the V-Machine. The Behringer BCR2000 controller is connected by USB cable to the V-Machine (which offers two USB connectors). The SonicProjects VM Bundle is installed on the V-Machine and produces the sound including effects. The line outputs of the V-Machine are directly connected to an amplifier (using the green jack cables) which drives a pair of Yamaha NS-10 speakers. The audio of the video was recorded with the integrated room microphone of the video cam.
The installed SonicProjects VM Bundle is a bundle of adapted versions of OP-X (a virtual analog synth), Stringer (a sample based vintage string machine emulator), two custom made effect plugins (reverb and delay) as well as two banks with many ready to play presets in VFX format.
The VM Bundle also contains a BCR2000 toolkit that offers a custom sysex preset for the BCR2000 that matches the pre-mapped versions of the banks. After loading the sysex preset from a MIDI sequencer into the BCR2000 the setup can be immediatly used and offers a knob or button for every single parameter of OP-X and Stringer without the need of manual configuration. The BCR2000 toolkit also includes two printable templates that show which parameter is mapped to which BCR control.
This setup can serve as a complete hardware synth replacement and allows for tweaking and programming sounds as it used to be in former days, with a hardware control for each single function.
Furthermore - and this is even better than in a normal analog synth with knobs - the knobs and buttons on BCR2000 update automatically to the values of the new presets on preset change using MIDI feedback (has to be activated in the V-Machine before). This allows for tweaking parameters without annoying value jumps.
So this setup is a real dream offering immediate playing and tweaking fun which a usual pc/mouse setup is far away from. It's also a great leightweight and cheap solution for the stage.

"Massive synthwave vibes from this synth VST plugin. It's a faithful emulation of the classic Roland JX-8P synth, taking interface cues from the optional PG-800 hardware controller.
You can hear a few patches found on the internet. The PG8X VST synth plugin can load in original JX-8P patches over sysex. You can hear some pads, leads and brassy tones in a few melodic examples of what this free plug-in can do."

The midi keyboard's two knobs at the right are learned to the increment/decrement buttons which allows to switch patches remotely. Learn more about in on page 85 of the synth's manual.
The heard audio comes directly from the stereo outputs of OP-X PRO-II. No external effects or any other treatments of any kind involved.

A bank comprising 30 patches for instant inspiration. This is the first OP-1 beta update from TE HQ since we announced the Teenage Engineering OP-1 synthesizer. The reason you got this email is that you are one of the 4.465 people who signed up for the beta release.
Recap The day before we went to the Frankfurt Musikmesse, we put the OP site online. On March 30th, 10:06:22 we got the first sign-up. During the trade show we kept the sign-up's open until we finally closed the form at 08:34:59, April 05th.
We where quite overwhelmed by the numbers and very happy with the response we got from all of you out there. But you might ask, 100 beta units and this many people!? Am I gonna get one?
Beta info The selection process will use different parameters to make sure we get a wide range of people and countries included.
It'll work like this.
- By date: The first x signup's (and the last one before we closed) will be safe. - By country: we want to test the machine in different conditions. - Random: x units will be completely randomized. - Friends: Our closest ones, both musicians and freaks.
Release date We will not announce any dates at this stage. Update: I thought it worth noting that this project is being done with Tom Oberheim's blessing. From the Kickstarter campaign:

"The VS-1 combines vintage analog sound with modern features, designed for those that find modern synths over-perfected. Based on the discrete analog design of the iconic Oberheim™ OB-X, the VS-1 utilizes many of the same design trade-offs, including a signal path comprised of discrete transistors, op-amps, & 3080 OTA's utilizing through-hole components. Combined with modern digital control, a clean & simple interface, and packed into a 3U rack... this is the essence of the VS-1.
It’s all about the tone. Based on the classic OB-X, each voice consists of two analog VCO's and a 12dB OTA Filter (LP/BP/HP) and VCA.
VCO's Two discrete VCO's per voice with saw and pulse waves. Pulse width can be adjusted from 0% to 100%. VCO1 can be modulated by VCO2 (crossmod) and VCO2 can by hard-synced to the frequency of VCO1. VCO's can also be modulated by two analog LFO's, two digital LFO's per-voice, and a DADSR 5-stage envelope generator.
Noise Analog white & pink noise.
Portamento Analog polyphonic portamento gives a natural clustering effect between voices as the analog components are never perfectly matched. Although this requires many additional components it has been included - another example of small imperfections that impart character. In addition, digital portamento with both fixed rate and fixed time modes is also included.
12dB OTA Filter The classic resonant 12dB multimode filter is the desert island filter, simply awesome in a polyphonic synth. The classic OB-X had a fixed lowpass mode, the OB-R has lowpass, bandpass & highpass modes.
Panning VCA's Each voice retains the classic 3080 OTA VCA but also includes a stereo panning VCA that can be modulated by several sources. The spread control make it easy to pan voices across the stereo field.
Envelope Generators Each voice has a dedicated analog ADSR for the filter and VCA. In addition there is a global five-stage DADSR with (20) modulation destinations.
Analog LFO's Two global analog LFO's with triangle, square and S&H waveforms can be sent to VCO1 frequency and pulse width, VCO2 frequency and pulse width, and filter cutoff.
Digital LFO’s Two LFO’s per voice with triangle, sawtooth, reverse sawtooth, square, and random waves with (20) destinations. LFO’s also have dedicated attack-decay envelopes and can be free-running or synced to the arpeggiator, sequencer, or MIDI clock for tempo-synced effects.
