"One day with the JD-XA... I was preparing a presentation so not much time left for the video itself, but I hope I captured some of the capabilities of the synth. This thing is huge in sound and I was waiting for a hybrid analog/digital synth like this a long time. It IS analog. It is dogital too. And it can give the best of both words If you know how to take it :)

I hope Styleflip will make a layout for this though ;)

In this quick demo every sound (except the few drum samples) and effect comes from the JD-XA which was recorded in to Cubase via a Roland Octa-Capture interface."

"OCTATRACK AMBIENT SPACE jam with NASA-Samples (Vocal samples), some Octa/GUITAR live Sampling, Noise live play with MS-20 mini through my guitar pedal board
ALL BEAT Loops were created with KORG VOLCA Beats & JOMOX Jazbase 03, All other OCTA loops were made with VOLCA Bass &Keys, ROLAND Juno 60, NORD Modular Rack, WALDORF Pulse & Microwave. 4, 8 and 16-bar Loops are sequenced with RPE SEQ12 matrix sequencer and sampled with Elektron Octatrack.

Mogees+Phonogene+Octatrack | Ultraviolet Cloud Formations

"I'm really loving the Mogees (http://mogees.co.uk) and I'm constantly looking around my house and studio for simple ways to grab some unique sounds. I love water, and found a few vessels to began experimenting. The screws ended up being the perfect hit on the water and the bottle. Then I used a magnet to move the screws around inside the plastic bottle. The tin container was stunning to play with and pouring the water sounded the most resonate with rich harmonics (this is the one I sampled into the Phonogene).

I used 2 samples in the Octatrack with 3 variations of each sample being faded between. The Midi tracks on the Octa are being used to send CC's to the Expert Sleepers ES-40 and then distributed throughout the modules. Timing is from the Analog 4 via the Grayscale Synapse.

"My concept in this piece was to use the Strymon big sky reverb (btw it's amazing http://www.strymon.net/bigsky/) to modulate and process all of the granular sampling I'm doing with the Octatrack. I'm using 2 Midi tracks on the Octa to constantly modulate (using LFO's and P-locks) 6 different parameters on the Big Sky (Midi CC's on a reverb pedal of this standard is brilliant). The sounds you hear are created with custom impulse responses I made (inspired by Diego Stucco http://www.diegostocco.com) and reprocessing the same sound with itself (blowing my mind in the process). The Cocoquantus is being modulated by a Sidrax. I've routed the Sidrax through an SSF Ground Control so I can apply DC bias and visualize it with a Dave Jones O'tool. Only using one track from the 8T, 3 from the MnM and 4 from the MD.
