A demo of a effect sound i made, Under the Name The Abyss, its a strange sound. And only the EX5 can achieve this type of sounds, I used no external FX for this and there is almost no layered tracks, mostly one continous recorded track. I used the AWM/FDSP engine for this, Cheers!
Yamaha EX5 Demo The Abyss
2. Public Transport (Yamaha EX5 Demo)
A ambient track, where i mostly use my Yamaha EX5, and most specifically a sound i made under the name Transporter, which kinda sounds like a bowed string instrument, where i used the FDSP synth engine. I also used my Korg M50 and Kawai K5000s for some more layered sounds. All the sounds were made by me.
"O Moog Sub 37 é um synth extremamente poderoso nas possibilidades de modulação. E foi explorando essas possibilidades que criei esse patch, que combina Sample & Hold e pitch modulation de um dos osciladores, criando muitos efeitos aleatórios. Para os sons de bateria, a Roland TR-6S, muito versátil, utilizando timbres com síntese FM.
The Moog Sub 37 is an extremely powerful synth in terms of modulation possibilities. And it was exploring these possibilities that I created this patch, which combines Sample & Hold and pitch modulation for one of the oscillators, creating many random effects. For drum sounds, the Roland TR-6S, very versatile, using tones with FM synthesis."
Tudo sequenciado no MPC One.

"Young People's Concert: 'Bach Transmogrified'
with the New York Philharmonic
Written and conducted by Leonard Bernstein
Bernstein discusses different transmogrifications or treatments of Bach's works. After an organ recital of the Little Fugue, guest conductor Leopold Stokowski conducts his own transcription of the fugue for symphony orchestra. Other transmogrifications include Foss' Phorion and a version of the Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 performed by the New York Rock and Roll Ensemble.
In this excerpt, Bernstein discusses the Bach Little Fugue in G Minor heard on the Moog Synthesizer.

"I played for hours straight so I had to change my camera's battery 4 times and my SD card, then assembling and sorting all the cuts I realized it moved a bit, sorry for that! One of the great thing with the AX80 is the stability: it doesn't move of a single cent, which is fundamentally important for live performances! (Also there are 64 presets it's nice). More than being stable, it's also really in tune thanks DCOs drivers. (too much in tune..?) It's nice to know this synth has a double-mode crossmod section, an ADSR to DCO routing and an additional sub waveform. On 8 voices so it goes big! I especially like the crossmod. It's not as versatile as a Prophet 600, but it does have a sonic difference. The filters are a question of taste, I'm into the 2044 reference and those CEMs don't sound quite the same, they have a more aggressive resonance... They're just different (in a CEM way by definition :p) And well that look, with astonishing neon LEDs behind opaque plexiglass, and this fantastic keyboard feel! Oyy we don't speak enough about it, but it's amazing, it's perfectly balanced and nice to play with.
As usual with mono sources, I preamped the AX-80 thru a Golden Age Premier PREQ-73, and since the Akai output level is super high it easily went on overdrive. The Akai doesn't drive by itself, it's on the contrary really clean!

Welcome to Bad Gear, the show about the world's most hated audio tools. Today we are going to talk about Roland System-8. Is this soon abandoned flagship synthesizer, little sibling of System-1, part of the Roland Aira range, virtual analog synth, Roland Cloud plugout host and overall eye-sore a future classic or just another expensive plastic toy? Is it worthy of the rich Roland Jupiter-8 and Roland Juno-106 legacy?

"Paul from PWM gave a us preview of Mantis, which is the last synth designed by Chris Huggett [EDP Wasp creator] before he passed away. The Mantis is described as a Wasp Mark II with an Oscar- inspired dual filter, and two analog signal paths that make it duophonic. The oscillators are numerically calculated on power-up using then move into the analog domain, where everything is digitally controlled.
The Mantis mixer allows users to balance between oscillator one and two, add noise, and ring mod. It has a deep, but simple to use modulation section, two envelopes with a unique sustain fall feature and 100 factory patches and 100 user patches. The instrument also includes a few digital effects at the end of the signal path that help sweeten the sounds and make it more of an all-around performance instrument.
While the instrument is still in development, PWM showcased the circuit boards that are provide a preview of the final sound of the Mantis.
"A brand new synth from PWM - a new company with lots of history. Paul has worked extensively in the industry. Most interesting here are his connections from his time at Novation as the BassStaion 2 product lead. You may know that the inventor of the classic WASP and OSCAR, Chris Huggett, was involved there, and before his unfortunately untimely death he was working with Paul on this new synth. Paul has brought it to life with his families blessing.
A great story, and a great little synth. Still has a couple of pre production hoops to jump through but will be available soon."

First up the MiniMod Keyz - equivalent of a Minimoog, plus extra modules, pre-installed inside a Cre8audio NiftyKeyz Eurorack case and keyboard controller.
This makes a complete Eurorack modular synth that's ready to go straight out of the box.
Our package includes the standard MiniMod voice - directly based on the original R.A. Moog version of the Minimoog, along with a RING SM, Tap Tempo VC-LFO, and the new Low Fat HP filter.
It is fitted with custom Dark American Walnut end cheeks, for a more vintage look, and comes with a selection of patch cables, so that you're ready to start making the floor rumble right out of the box.
The Ring SM is a 5-channel Moog CP3 mixer, EMS Synthi/VCS3 based Ring Modulator, and a very rich-sounding, simultaneous 2 octave sub-bass generator. User Guide:
The Tap Tempo VC-LFO is a very complex modulation source, with 16 common and unusual wave shapes, including stepped and sloped random voltages. Every element can be voltage-controlled, and can be clocked by external modules/sequencers, or act as a master clock, clock divider/multiplier. User Guide:
The Low Fat is a voltage-controlled 2hp high pass filter, and a great compliment to the classic, huge-sounding Transistor Ladder Filter. The Fattest filter in town needs to slim down sometimes! User Guide:
The NiftyKeyz is a 4-octave keyboard controller, with a large host of features, including arpeggiator, 4-voice polyphonic control, built-in LFO, and much more. Check out the website:
This pairs with the MiniMod system well, as it provides everything from Minimoog-like functionality, to way beyond, whilst maintaining the classic vintage sound and honouring the circuitry of the awesome original.
The AJH SYNTH Eurorack range consists of high-end modules, all hand-made in the UK, most of which are based on classic, vintage designs, authentically recreating the circuitry of much sought-after analogue instruments and technologies of the past, whilst greatly expanding them, and bringing them to modern Eurorack levels of convenience, limitless flexibility, and reliability.
Check out the AJH Synth playlists for module 'User Guides', and 'Patch of The Week' videos, which will be either performances or 'how to' guides, detailing functions/methods, and a range of sounds, some familiar, some less so, containing a patch sheet at the end to show you how to construct it for yourself.

"Back in 2020 I had the pleasure of Interviewing the Team behind the IMPLEXUS, which at that time was on Kick Starter. It reached the Goal and was then released, however as we know the World changed a lot during the intervening years with costs, gaining parts and a whole lot of other issues which have impacted Synthesizer Manufacture.
Interview back in 2020
Jasper from Majella Audio reached out to me to see if I would like to Review the IMPLEXUS and I've been lucky to try out the Synth for a couple of weeks.
Like I have done previously with Mono Synth Reviews, I decided to make a complete Track using ONLY the IMPLEXUS for every Sound source, including Drums and Percussion. The process is to make each Drum Sound and Sample into NI Machine to build a Kit, then make each of the other Sounds, like Bass, Sequences and even Pads, then Track them into Logic Pro.
While I have done this before, it really was a pleasure doing it with the IMPLEXUS as the range of tones and texture is much greater than a typical Monosynth and I really enjoyed making the Review.
If you would like to download the Drums and FX Samples. you can join my Patreon where I have uploaded the NI Maschine Project and if not, there are the Samples too. https://www.patreon.com/GEOSynths

But what things to look for when buying your first modules? In this video I use a compact but powerful synth voice from Nano modules to demonstrate a bunch of things to look for, all with patch ideas of course!"

"I did a video a little while back comparing some distortion modules, and included the L'Ecorcheur. At the time I didn't really understand how the Glitchzr knob worked, so the demo was...sub-optimal.
Here's another try, focusing this time just on the L'Ecorcheur. Starting with the Glitchzr knob down, so we get a better comparison of its straight distortion capabilities, then later we turn it up for the full experience.

"This is a truly legendary synth, that has arguably inspired entire genres of music. I still see them being used live by the likes of Sasha and Overmono, because it's simply unsurpassed in terms of the sounds it can create. This is the 37-key white-coloured Polar TI variant, which has a lovely keybed and mod-wheels, over and above the controls on the module which is shown in the video below.
It has virtual analog, FM, and morphing wavetable oscillators, and there are three in total, plus a sub oscillator — it's then 16-part multi-timbral, so it simply sounds like nothing else. There are loads of LFOs and literally any control can be mapped to a mod-source in the matrix."
