Eowave - Ricochet (Very fun!)

video upload by NOISEBUG

"Eowave Ricochet is one fun module! Dynamic Trigs, quad-VCA with individual and sum outputs, quad decay envelope that can be "Linked" triggered at the end of the previous cycle, summed and cross-modulated.

This module is perfect for intricate percussive patterns. Add your favorite VCO and/or noise source, or use the built-in noise generator to get rolling rhythm, tight burst fills, and much much more.

The Ricochet can be expanded using the included jumper cable for twice the excitement. C\

Check out Ricochet at Noisebug
https://www.noisebug.net/products/eow..."

"The module's design is inspired by the way skipping stones bounce on the water, creating a versatile tool for crafting percussive sounds.

The exponential envelopes are specifically designed to generate dynamic percussive tones. The unique linking function connects the end of one envelope's decay to the trigger of the next, enabling the subsequent envelope to activate once the previous one ends. This innovative feature allows you to create ratcheted envelope.

A front-panel trimmer lets you adjust the threshold for triggering subsequent envelopes, while a rear header enables connecting two Ricochet modules together ,or linking the last envelope to the first. This feature transform the Ricochet to a weird sequencer where the steps length depend of the decay times.

Since Ricochet is fully analogic, trig inputs are velocity-sensitive, responding to a standard gates but also allowing attenuation to modify the envelope's velocity (you can play with the dynamic of your sound by attenuating the trigg input. Ricochet is also perfect to play with drum pads).

Each VCA features a gain control that can be pushed to achieve subtle saturation.

All envelopes and VCAs have separate outputs, but there are also mixed audio and envelope outputs. When an individual output is connected, it is removed from the mix. The decay modulation inputs are normalized between each other.

Last but not least, an analog noise generator is normalised to the first input, so you can use ricochet on it's own to create hi hat kind of sounds

MAIN FEATURES :
- Fully analog design so everything is responsive to the amplitude
- Unique linked envelopes feature
- Compact 4 envelopes 4 VCAs module
- Linkable to a second ricochet or looping back the last enveloppe to the first one

SOME APPLICATIONS :
- Envelope generator
- Drum shaper
- Hi-hat
- Clap envelope shaper( with short ratcheted envelopes)
- Envelope sequencer
- Trigg delay
- Burst generator

TECHNICAL DETAILS:
- Fully Analog design
- 14hp
- Skiff friendly
- Reverse power protection"

A patch technique for layering sound // first patch with the Eowave Tempete Magnetique

video upload by DivKid

"Here we have what was my literal first patch with the Tempête Magnetique from Eowave. I really loved the Fluctuations Magnetique from Eowave and it was nice to see them build on that with the new module. While patching the filter I used a technique that I often do which is layering two sounds from a single oscillator into two filters with different modulation to get the sounds layered and dancing around each other. That technique is what we're exploring here.

How to do eurorack filters different – Eowave Tempête Magnetique

video upload by Monotrail Tech Talk

"The Eowave Tempête Magnetique is a quad multimode filter with a lot of tricks up its sleeve. It can function as four independent filters, two creative filter pairs, or a single complex filter. Beside that it holds a build in cross-modulation section, an envelope follower, and a ping input. All that makes it a very versatile and interesting filter playground for sound design and exploration."

All the soft pads: OB-X8, OB-6, Nord Lead 2, JUNO-6, JX-3P, JP-8000, Reface CS, Eurorack

video upload by thesrabbit

"Warning: The recordings in this video have a LOT of bass, even with a 30Hz EQ low cut. Maybe some of that will get trimmed off in YouTube compression.

Contents:
0:00 OB-X8 with TAL chorus I
1:34 Nord Lead 2 with TAL chorus I
3:04 OB-6 with built-in chorus
4:36 Juno-6 with built-in chorus II
6:06 JX-3P with built-in chorus
7:35 JP-8000 with built-in slow chorus
9:06 Reface CS with built-in chorus
10:43 Polyphonic Eurorack with Mimeophon
12:14 OB-X8 with reverb
13:53 Nord Lead 2 with reverb
15:28 OB-6 with reverb
17:04 Juno-6 with reverb
18:41 JX-3P with reverb
20:15 JP-8000 with reverb
21:52 Reface CS with reverb
23:29 Polyphonic Eurorack with reverb

I had to reupload this due to being a Davinci Resolve noob. There were all sorts of weird artifacts in the audio with the original upload. Hopefully it's fixed now.

I'm not sure if there's a point to this video at all. I love soft pad sounds. They're warm and comforting. I decided to make a pad sound on the Roland JX-3P and one thing led to another and of course I had to make a similar sound on ALL of my analog and virtual analog polysynths, including Eurorack, as I now have all the components to make a 2-VCO 4-voice polysynth. All of these pads are based on a simple 2-oscillator sawtooth, with a little detuning and pitch mod to one of the oscillators, if possible. On the Juno I there's only 1 oscillator, so there's maybe a little more LFO to pitch than on the other synths.

In the beginning, you see me play the notes on the Oberheim OB-X8 (Yes, it's an X8 and not something vintage, I have a pinstripe overlay, mostly for the Page 2 labels). I used that "performance" to capture the MIDI, which is then routed to all the other synths that are featured here, including the Eurorack setup. Before tracking the modular stuff, I removed some notes from the recorded MIDI so that there wouldn't be all sorts of crazy unpredictable voice stealing.

I used the built-in chorus on the JX-3P, so I figured it's only fair to use chorus on everything. I used the TAL Juno Chorus plugin on the OB-X8 and Nord Lead 2, setting 1. I used the built-in Chorus II on the Juno-6, and the "slow chorus" on the JP-8000. For the Sequential OB-6 and Yamaha Reface CS, I went for a similar type of slow chorus. The chorus on the OB-6 is very usable if you keep the rate low. There are sweet spots to be found. For Eurorack, I used the Mimeophon with a short delay time. It doesn't really do the chorus thing so much, but it does sort of act as a stereo widener. So if it sounds a little clangy, that's probably why.

Eurorack 4-voice poly is assembled like so:
Voice 1: 2 VCOs from the System-500 512, System-500 521 VCF, System-500 VCA, System-500 envelope
Voice 2: 2 Eowave Titan VCOs, System-500 521 VCF, System-500 VCA, System-500 envelope
Voice 3: 2 VCOs from the Wavefonix Dual CEM 3340, G-Storm SH5-VCF, Doepfer VCA, Doepfer Envelope
Voice 4: Dreadbox Erebus all internal VCOs, VCF, VCA, and envelope
All voices are mixed together and then fed into the Mimeophon
There is some additional filter modulation applied to all filters via the Erebus LFO

After the first round, all recordings are played again with the wonderfully lush Audiothingies DoctorA modulated plate reverb, approx 50/50 wet/dry mix."

SoftPop 2 in Session | Bastl x Casper | Noise Kitchen

video upload by NOISE KITCHEN

"Bastl Instruments x Casper Electronics' SoftPopII SP2 is live: 'a radical subtractive synth under the influence of unconventional digital control. It’s a rare beast that excels at both melody and noise in equal measure, ranging from bassline bangers, angelic chord progressions, distorted beats, and water droplets. It can even process inbound audio through the filter and VCA.'

Pretty words, but how does it actually sound in a live setting? In this video by Noise Kitchen staff Lotus Wash and Niels Aras we get right to it — two Bastl Instruments x Casper Electronics SoftPop SP2, one Eowave Quadrantid Swarm, one Moog DFAM, processed through Valhalla Supermassive, nothing else.

Over the 13 minutes multiple different dimensions of sound are explored, from punchy acid rollers and psychedelic slow-motion dancefloor beats, Niels Aras & Lotus Wash guide you through how the SoftPopII can be weaponised for the rave, away from the more ambient electronica applications of the synth heard elsewhere.

Filming & Editing by Adam Kořínek & Vít Linek — many thanks!"

Superbooth 2023: Eowave - Tempete Magnetique Complex Filter

video upload by sonicstate

"At Superbooth 2023, we spoke to Thomas from Eowave about their new product,Tempete Magnetique, 4-12dB filters that can be linked, pinged, put in parallel, serial, or used as crossovers. The filter has a complex oscillator with cross-modulation between two parts and outputs that can be fed back to the user input, enabling users to make weird oscillators and crossovers. The filter design is based on the Oberheim SEM filter, but with some very interesting extras.

Tempete Magnetique Available: June 2023. Price 350 Euros

Ricochet Available: Soon. Price 250 Euros

Supamix Available: Soon. Price 250 Euros"

Eowave ORAGE | VCO with thru-zero FM

video upload by Cinematic Laboratory

"Eowave sent me an Orage to check it out. It means 'Storm' in French and refers to magnetic storms. I have no idea how they sound, but they're coming from the Sun and they can cause black-outs and lots of electronic trouble. It really triggered my imagination. It's a small analog VCO with loads of outputs and PWM, but the best part is the thru-zero FM. I patched it up with the Fluctuations Magnetiques and I was recording a video before I knew it. I don't think I'd got one based on the specs, but this is a hidden Eurorack gem. Obviously you'll need a second (simple) oscillator to get the most from it."

Eowave Titan Discrete oscillator with LPF from Mrg Synthesizers and Pico DSP ( no talking )

video upload by Dziam Bass

"you like solid sound ??... so Titan Discrete oscillator from @eowave_modular is for you, simple demo with LPF from @mrgsynth ... and add some reverb from Pico DSP from Erica Synths .

TITAN modules are elements from the Titan Capsule family. They are sound generators built to recreate the sound of Titan haze. These transistor based oscillators have a wide range and a very particular sound. 2 TITAN modules will create deep and vibrant bass.

Using the « densité des brumes » contriol, the sound will be shaped through Titan’s haze from deep basses to high pitches. The titan transistors generate a bass frequency of +/-15 semi-tones from 1Hz a 6kHz."
