Smule Magic Piano for the iPad

"Inspired by the world-renowned pianist Lang Lang, Magic Piano was conceived and designed exclusively for the iPad by Smule, creators of Ocarina, Leaf Trombone, and I Am T-Pain.

Play timeless pieces on spiral and circular keyboards, or follow beams of light – mastery requires only imagination.

Play alone, or travel through a warp hole and duet with other Magic Pianists across the world.

Available exclusively on the iPad. Limited sale of $2.99 (expires on Mozart's birthday).

Smule’s newest app is a playful whimsical musical experience designed to delight iPad users. Impress your friends with how quickly you’ve mastered “Flight of the Bumblebee” and “Fur Elise”, or just amuse yourself playing “Heart and Soul”. You get to determine what your keyboard looks like – if a standard piano has too many keys, you can reduce the number to what works for you. And why does the keyboard have to be a straight line, when a circle is much more fun?

You can play preloaded songs by following beams of light – and set the difficulty level depending on your Magic Piano expertise or your mood. Want to just practice timing without working about key position? Go for it. If you want a slightly more traditional experience, you can set the Piano to respond to your hand placement. And if you’re tired of playing alone, you can venture into the world.

Travel around the Smule Globe to find other Piano users. Simply select “duet mode” and Magic Piano will create warp holes, and connect you with Pianists. You can play back and forth for a bit, and then the roulette wheel will spin again and you’ll meet another new person. If you want to stay connected to a single individual, just say so, and you can play back and forth to your heart’s content. And if you’d rather just listen into other player’s duets, you can do that too."

It looks like the third app in the video in this post was the Magic Piano after all.

Moog Matriarch Classical Patches. Lead, Bass, Pluck, Arp

video upload by Anton Anru

"Welcome to the soundset for the semi-modular synth Moog Matriarch.
This bank of presets has been highly requested by customers who enjoyed my 'Analog Classics' soundset for the Grandmother. Matriarch "Analog Classics" is based on the Grandmother soundset, but with some differences. I took Grandmother patches and modified them with the unique Matriarch features. Also, I removed chords/drones (this type of presets can be found in my Matriarch "Polychrome" soundset) and added some new arps, leads, and plucks.

Matriarch «Analog Classics» is a collection of 50 patches: 15 Leads, 13 Basses, 14 Arps, and 8 Plucks.
It features famous sounds found in electronic tracks spanning from vintage to modern, musical solo timbres and basses suitable for various instrumental genres such as jazz, funk, rock, pop, and indie. There are also some experimental patches that add a unique touch to your music, combining the beloved characteristics of vintage synths with new possibilities and sound character introduced by the Matriarch.

🎧 Get the soundset: https://antonanru.sellfy.store/moog/

These presets offer a wide range of tones, from retro and vintage to modern, spanning soft, gentle, deep, and aggressive, as well as harsh, bright, and punchy sounds.

The soundset is suitable for all genres of electronic music, including Techno, House, Trance, Lounge, Downtempo, Funk, Disco, Pop, Acid, Hardcore, IDM, Drum'n'Bass, Breaks, Breakbeat, Trap, Electro, Ambient, Dubstep, EDM, Synth-Pop and others.

The soundset is presented in PDF format. Each page contains notes explaining how the patch works, which parameters are worth tweaking during playback, and how to develop the timbre during a performance. By following these notes and making conscious adjustments, you can explore the depth of the synth.

Each patch includes an audio example, demonstrating how it's supposed to sound. These examples use only the Matriarch Delay without external effects.
To recreate these presets, you'll need up to 13 patch cords, including long ones.
Make sure your firmware is v1.2.3 or higher for full compatibility with my presets.

Gerudo Valley Theme - 8-Bit Cover on a Korg MS-20

Published on Jan 15, 2017 NickBarraMusic

"Back again with another 8-Bit track on my Korg synth! This one is an adaptation of the Gerudo Valley theme from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

I went for the traditional NES sounds on this one (triangle, square, pulse waves + white noise); however there are several more tracks than would have been possible on an NES.

Hope you enjoy!"

Sound Scope Space for iPad

Published on Jan 16, 2013 Apps4idevicesMusic·334 videos

http://apps4idevices.com/read/sound-scope-space-for-ipad
"Sound Scope Space for iPad is a synthesizer (a noise machine) from the Strange Agency developer team. I'm really fond of their Synth Apps... So, this one allows you to "sculpt" the oscillator waveforms with your finger. It also comes with the Kuzmoscillator™ modulator which is an LFO control for pitch and volume and it also has an arpeggiator. You can store your own presets. Unfortunately you cannot record your performances. A Super App!"

An interesting look back. Sound Scope Space was out in 2010 as you can see in this video. The last updated was on Oct 21 of 2012. The Strange Agency also brought us Curtis [video below] and other apps.

"The famous waveform-sculpting synthesizer finally available for iPad!

The latest generation of our Sound Scope synthesizer, with a completely rewritten audio engine, Kuzmoscillator™ modulator, echo, arpeggiator, more range, and higher resolution!

WAVEFORM EDITOR:

Use your finger to sculpt the oscillator waveforms! Try to draw a jagged shape for rich harmonics. Draw a smooth wave for smooth tones. Use a square shape to create hollow, flute-like sounds. Use the preset wave shape buttons as starting points for different timbres. The oscillators will morph to the preset shapes in time with the arpeggiator tempo.

New features: The flat lines silence each oscillator. The stair step lines turn on aliasing, for a harsher, more retro 8-bit sound.

PERFORMANCE AREA:
Simply touch the play area in the bottom third of the screen to play notes like you would on a keyboard. You can use a pinching motion on the ruler on either side of the screen to zoom into a particular pitch region for more precise control. Use two fingers to drag either ruler left or right to change the pitch region you are playing.

With the arpeggiator set to on, try using more than one finger on the central column; Space will step through all of the pitches you have pressed!

MODULATION AREAS:
Here you can change the arpeggiator and echo mode, and change their timing. With the arpeggiator on, you can use several fingers at once on the performance area, and Space will repeatedly step through these notes. With the arpeggiator turned off, you can play Space one note at a time like you would a keyboard.

The Kuzmoscillator™ modulator is an LFO control for pitch and volume. Drag across it horizontally, and you will cause the sound to go up and down in pitch. Drag vertically, and you will do the same to volume. The distance of your drag determines the AMOUNT of variation, while the speed of your drag determines the SPEED of variation.

For fans of Curtis, Sub Shredder, Ocarina, Leaf Trombone, and BeatMaker! For beat box maestros, drum machine programmers, 303 tweakers, synth heads, and analog junkies. If you love your Moog, Prophet, 808, 909, MKS, Juno or Jupiter, you will love Sound Scope Space!"

GLASYS - Sequential Prophet XL Performance

Published on Feb 13, 2020 Sequential

"Our friend GLASYS stopped by the office while on tour and we were lucky enough to have him play a few of his songs for us! www.youtube.com/c/glasys https://www.instagram.com/glasysmusic/

1. Sheik's Theme from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - this patch uses both layers A and B in mono mode (8 voices). An expression pedal brings the higher pitched sparkle in and out while the mod wheel controls the cutoff of an underlying pad.

2. Saxophobe - this patch is based on a reversed sax sample that's modulating a sine wave's frequency. The actual sample isn't in the mix, only the sine.

3. Vinyl Piano - a piano sample that's frequency modulated by noise and an LFO with a slightly closed filter."

Update: The press release:
"Smule™ Launches Leaf Trombone World Stage

First Massively Multi-player, Musical Game for the iPhone and iPod touch

Menlo Park, Calif. – April 15, 2009 – SonicMule, Inc. (Smule), a premier developer of interactive sonic applications for the iPhone platform, announced today the availability of Leaf Trombone World Stage, the world’s first massively multi-player musical game for the iPhone and iPod touch.

Smule, the company behind Ocarina and Sonic Lighter, presented a sneak peek of the Leaf Trombone World Stage at Apple’s iPhone 3.0 event last month. As the name suggests, anyone can perform a tune on the Leaf Trombone before a global audience. A player can also request a panel of self-appointed judges, randomly selected from anywhere in the world, providing an instant critique of the performance, using a combination of emoticons and text. Judges can reward a performance or veto it mid-note.

The World Stage will separate the Music Gods from the Wannabes. “People can play at home, alone, as badly as they want. It’s like singing in the shower. Where’s the challenge? The thrill?” asks Smule CTO and co-founder Dr. Ge Wang. “We are inviting people to abandon their egos and put it all out there, before a global audience and a potentially merciless tribunal.”

Inspired by traditional Chinese leaf instruments, Smule’s Leaf Trombone is ideally suited to both the iPhone and iPod touch platform. Users move the slide up and down to change pitch, and, with iPhones, blow into the microphone to create sound. Leaf Trombone ships with a group of songs already loaded, so users can immediately begin learning how to play the instrument. A music box provides accompaniment, and floating leaves show beginners where to place the slide to achieve the correct note. Once users have mastered a song, they’re ready to perform on the World Stage.

“Leaf Trombone was developed to unleash people’s creativity and their inner rock star.” said Wang. “Now, with the Leaf Trombone, anyone can perform on the World Stage.”
