Analogue Solutions Concussor Modular Synth Drum Modules #01 (feat. Leipzig-s)

YouTube Uploaded by rezfilter on Oct 25, 2011

Update: video re-uploaded. It should play now.

"Headphones *highly* recommended:

Here's a quick look at the Analogue Solutions Concussor line of modular synth drum modules:

http://analoguesolutions.org.uk/v2/concussor-modular/

This video features a brief overview of some of the Concussor drum modules in use -- note: the modules being triggered via the MT9, MIDI-TRIG module from Analogue Solutions.

The GT8, 8-step gate sequencer is also featured at the onset, triggering the modules via clock from the Oberkorn MK3 analogue sequencer (Ice Machine edition).

Additionally, the latest Leipzig synthesizer (Leipzig-s) is featured throughout the video running its internal 8-step sequencer (time triggered via MIDI clock in this example). The Leipzig-s provides the bulk of the sonic architecture in the video, with a few ancillary synths thrown in for good measure. Music was created to offer an overview of the drum modules in a musical bed.

As usual, all music is 100% analogue and 100% original.

Enjoy." OTO Biscuit & RSF Kobol make an appearance as well.

Moog Little Phatty and Tom Oberheim MidiSEM

YouTube Uploaded by kennykeyboard on Oct 25, 2011

"Both analog synths making serious noises. Included are the usual filter sweeps and detuning oscillators. Some of my usual riffs dot the landscape. Most is just ambient knob turns. I couldn't get them to take turns with polyphony. The Little Phatty has a provision for adding extra voices in a midi chain. The SEM just has low, high, and last note."

Serge feedback alright

John Bowen Solaris Unboxing Shots

via Sequence 15 where you'll find more pics.

The Solaris actually made it's first appearance here on MATRIXSYNTH back on March 26, 2007 as a teaser post. Take a look. It's great to see it arrive. Congrats to John Bowen! See the John Bowen label for a trip down memory lane (I wish there were a way to reverse order posts on Blogger).

Higher [Eigenharp EigenD Controls Modular]

"Striving for higher resolution electronic instruments to connect the player to the sound the old-fashioned way.

This is a technical demonstration, meaning, I finished the technical coding, hooked it up, patched the simplest thing I could on the modular and started noodling.

The way this works is that since EigenD (eigenharps platform) is now open source, we've (with the help of eigenlabs) been able to crack it open a bit for hacking. We now have an OSC agent which pumps an insane volume of raw data out of the harp ready for some experimental harvesting.

In this demo, I have a MAX patch which sanitizes the data, and makes it expressly fit for translation to control voltage of a modular.

Some data points here. EigenD sends 2000 events per control point per second. Per note there are 3 high res control points per note (pressure, yaw, pitch). So that is 6000 events per sec translated over the wire into voltage. 2 more control points require voltage which are pitch and cv. That means using an audio interface for cv, you need 5 audio outs per level of polyphony. 5 outs for monophonic, 10 outs for duophonic, and up.

Luckily, monophonic is pretty amazing, duophonic is an incredible luxury and 3 levels is showing off.

After I have prototyped this, I could see writing an EigenD agent expressly to do this directly, making the eigenharp modular friendly out of the box.

I however have to mention that this would not be possible without Expert Sleepers Silent Way plugins as the OSC to CV bridge. Nor would it be possible without MAX in this prototype stage."

POCKET PIANO by CRITTER and GUITARI

via this auction

"The Pocket Piano is a mini electronic synthesizer with a big sound! The synthesizer features six unique modes:

• Vibrato Synth
• Harmonic Sweeper
• Two-Octave Arpeggiator
• Octave Cascade
• Mono FM Synth
• FM Arpeggiator

The Pocket Piano is housed in a sturdy aluminum and hardwood case and also includes a built-in speaker, a 1/4" output jack, and wooden keys made for a refined touch. It can be powered both by a 9V battery or a wall wart (not included).

When you change modes with the right-most wooden button, a color LED above that button indicates what mode is selected with a different color for each mode. The entire keyboard may be tuned over a 2 octave range by turning the knob second from right. Volume is controlled by the right-most knob. The function of the remaining two left knobs depend on what mode is selected, and are described below. There is also a button that selects waveform (sine, square, triangle, sawtooth) in the first four modes, and shifts the keyboard an octave higher in the last two modes."
