Stand Alone iPad Editor for Radikal Technologies Accelerator in the Works

via Jörg Schaaf on Facebook

"Finally success - for the first time I successfully controlled parameters of the Accelerator with my standalone iPad editor. Some limitations in Lemur changed my mind and I started an editor from scratch with Xcode."

You might remember the Lemur editor from my Radikal Technologies NAMM pics here.

Yamaha SK50D - Seeing Double...

"I recently acquired a second Yamaha SK50D in pretty much the same condition as my first one. The second unit is actually older than mine and has a serial number in the 300's. Mine is in the 2000's. The slider knob colours for Upper Organ and Solo Synth are reversed between the two, and mine has the carrying handles located in a different position than the older unit."

"Using Antonio Blanca's ABreakpoint2 template to generate MIDI sequences. MIDI is routed into Reason, which in turn translates the data to control voltages. The CV/Gate signals are routed to the ARP2600 Synthesizer. As the iPad Lemur app triggers the ARP, i'm able to tweak the synth and record audio back into Reason 6."

Introducing Wasabi - The Marsynth Workshop Board

via Marsynth

"Announcing the Marsynth Workshop Board!

I've wanted to do a DIY-style product ever since I first started selling my instruments, and I'm proud to finally announce the marsynth workshop board (tentatively named the Wasabi, or WSB)!

[Pictured: Marsynth Workshop Board Prototype]

The workshop board contains four oscillators which are synchronized and ring modded in a fairly complex network which results in a great array of radio-tuner-like sounds. I'll be adding a product page soon with audio and video demos.

This unit has already seen great interest and the first two prototype runs sold out almost immediately after they were made available at a few of the live shows that I attended and played at this year. The first production batch should be available sometime in March."

AudioCube Jam with 9 Box Casual Musical Instrument at Electro-Music 2011 Festival in NY

There was an AudioCube jam at the 2011 Electro-Music Festival in NY (http://event.electro-music.com/), I brought 6 AudoiCubes (http://www.Percussa.com) and setup my casual musical instrument templates called the 9 Box. This same system is the basis for multiple music labs in schools.

The system fits in a backpack, is intended for 1-4 players. It only takes a few minutes to setup the system and about 1 minute to learn to play the 9 Box. "9 Box" refers to a 3x3 matrix of 9 clips - hence the "9 Box". Why 9 clips? After much research I've concluded that 9 is a perfect number of clips for mapping to a single AudioCube and a small enough number of clips that it's easy to keep track of the different musical or sound phrases.

Watch for annotations in video for more details.
